She is learning about the solar system, the seasons, life cycles of bugs, how to write and trace, letters, math, matching and logic. Because Montessori fosters independence, confidence and asks the kids to take an active role in their own education, I believe this type of system sets them up for future success and fuels their own internal drive towards reaching their personal best. Like many parents, we are highly invested in our daughters education and care. In the past, we ran into a bad daycare environment that gave us serious trust issues. But thankfully, and after much vetting, we feel at home with Melville Montessori. My daughter loves her teachers, her school, her classmates and all of the new information she absorbs them shares at home. That's all we asked for! No notice was given, no reason as to why he could no longer attend, or why we couldn't have more time to find an alternative. But it was cruel and unprofessional to kick a child out without notice, and now we find ourselves losing work looking for an alternative for childcare. To add insult to injury, when we asked for a refund we were told by Eric that any further conversation would be with his lawyer! Please be warned, they are expecting house plants for children here, who will require no effort. If your child is not perfectly docile you can expect to be shown the door without warning. My older son, now in 3K, grew very close to Stephanie in the 2 year old classroom. They developed a close bond and always looked forward to seeing her. As an infant, he grew close to Ms Arifa in the infant classroom. The hours are fantastic and Stephanie is extremely reliable in ensuring the building is open and ready for children at 7am. I have friends and family members attending currently in 2018 so the same issues remain. The management and staff take care of the kids and do a good job in caring for them and teaching them.. The food is kosher, a must for us, and descent, although breakfast was.a bit weak, better and healthier menus would be welcome. Major issues: the school has been short staffed, people kept moving around and teachers often managed.the place without any experience. I hear it is still happening, worst, the small class has a new teacher every other month, and my friend has her kid in the preschool class currently and she is not so pleased!

There's great security, with a door buzzer in the front and no other way in. You see the headmaster Nelly every day when you walk in. She greets you warmly, and she is always ready to answer any questions (not to mention greet your child with such warmth!). When there's a problem (sick, bathroom accident, etc), Nelly or Ella or her staff call home for a heads up. And the teachers are super engaging! Just good people, with kids of their own, and great experience and training! My son knows all of them now, which makes it feel more like a family because he's comfortable with all the staff. He loves the other kids, he eats (most of) the food, his language and fine motor skills get sharper by the day, he's stimulated with tons of crafts, music, play, and letters/numbers, and he naps! Halleluyah! They're working on potty training him and just all in all, he's having FUN! He's safe, happy and learning and that's all we want. Only negative is the outside area is small, BUT its the perfect size for this age group (2-pre-K). And the price is quite affordable, especially compared to the other competitors. The school requested $200 for security deposit and key fob deposit ($20/each). I paid $260 in total. After my daughter graduated, I returned the key fobs and asking for refund. The lady who works at the front told me that they will contact me. Long story short it never happened. I went there couple times but they always just ask me to wait. Finally I got a call from Dr. Shell by end of September 2024, instead of letting me know how can I get the money back, she spend the time explaining the problem with the system to me and told me that's why I can't get the money back. I was so confused, if there is a system problem, isn't it your job to fix it? She said she will call me back after two weeks to let me know the results and I never received any call back from them. I tried so many times to call or visit in person. I know $260 is not a big amount but it's my money. I don't understand why is it so difficult to just get my money back. The teachers there are nice but staff are horrible. Especially the Assistant Director. She is very impatient and also full of attitude. There was once that she is kept yelling that I tried to ask her to clam down. Until I said there is a camera you know that right? She finally calm and stop yelling it was happened at the front desk. She was even once hung up the phone on my husband. I don't know if I can get the money back but feel I should share my experience at least, hopefully it won't happen on other people.
