This office is not based on very personalized care. Its seems like a teaching clinic and uses…read moreresidents to see patients, with the doctor confirming the information taken by the residents. Its a very impersonal experience and they are speaking about the patient in the room as if the patient isn't even there. The Filipino front office receptionist is not friendly at all and has an attitiude. A drama queen and complains about people the entire time, as patients can hear everything being said through the window. She also doesn't know her billing protocols and information. Not a professional employee. Be very careful to verify all of your insurance coverages before agreeing to any procedures such as the extensive lab testing, imaging and other tests that are ordered and performed right in the office. They don't give you the opportunity to do this unless you insist. You will need the codes for any procedures to verify with your insurance plan. Once you receive your results, its all business, and therapies are dictated without a lot of input from the patient, even based on previous negative experiences with said therapies.

She has an AWESOME bedside manner and always makes it a point to make sure I have all my questions answered during my appointments. If I feel something is wrong, she will make sure to run a blood test and check everything out. I will continue to see her as long as I live. Her staff at Queens POB I is amazing as well. Dr Uramoto has great knowledge of Lupus and other auto immune diseases and will try every avenue to help you cope with your illness. I learned that it's impossible to get insurance to pay for physical therapy without a referral from a GP, and almost everyone I called didn't have appointment for at least four weeks. Enter Dr. Nakamura and his awesome staff. They saw me the same day I called (which is almost unheard of), and I was given the most complete exam I've ever gotten. He actually heard the things I was telling him, and gave me very honest answers to some slightly odd/neurotic questions. I got my referral to a PT, as well as a tetanus booster. (If my neck and arm are going to hurt, it may as well be all at one time, right?) A giant mahalo to everyone in the office there, for such a great experience.
