The former Lodge building was purchased in April 2023 by Jim and Kelly Hewitt, owners of The Abbey on Broad, and opened to the public as The Lodge On Main that August, serving breakfast and lunch. The building retains much of its midcentury charm, with terrazzo floors, shiny handrails, and even some cool vintage furniture. Follow either stairway down to find the bar and dining area. The menu's a great selection of down-to-earth diner-style fare, including horseshoes, omelettes, burgers, sandwiches, and house-made soup. We came in for breakfast and found plenty of choices. Even the straightforward Lodge Breakfast has options of three meats, four potatoes, and I don't know how many egg preparations. Everything was delicious. I recommend the "seasoned cubes" potato option: about half-inch cubes, crispy on the outside, and flaky and delicious on the inside. The sausage breakfast sandwich had a very generous portion of meat and the English muffin was perfectly toasted. I look forward to returning to try that lunch menu as well--we'll be back soon!
