We came at 2:00 pm and their sign said they were open till 2:15 ish.. Fast friendly service; it was cool in the restaurant, should've brought a sweater! I ordered the Jay's favorite; sausage was dried out. The scrambled eggs were served hot and fresh. The biscuits were hard as a rock and were inedible! They had thrown out all the other biscuits. Wow! This was bad on so many levels.We went here for brunch on Mothers day. the place was dirty, food all on the floor where I was seated by the host. I asked for a different table and the chairs had food in them. The buffet was ridiculous. Food on the floor, customers had to walk around it. one lady kicked a piece of chicken out of her way. There was a table cloth under the serving bowls and trays that had stains from all the waisted gravy and salad dressing. The salad was not on ice neither was the fruit. The hot food wasn't hot at all. The omelet was eggs with cheese on top. There was no butter or syrup for the waffles , we asked three servers. By the time we got the butter and syrup the waffle was cold. There was always a wait to put more food out. They ran out of mac and cheese, so they made of big pan of instant mac and cheese with powder cheese packs. This establishment had the nerve to call this a Mother's Day brunch, and charge $30! Very disappointed! Our server was great, but that's about it. I have food allergies and asked the server to check with the kitchen on an item and she came back to tell me there was a "minimum" amount of said item. I had her remove serval items from the dish and when asked if she could substitute, I was told that it would be a $6 up charge. Mind you, I have an equally expensive item removed plus two others. We were greeted upon entry and immediately seated at a high top table, not the preference but whatever, it was packed. We ordered some biscuits that were sent twice because the first batch was hard solid like rocks, unfortunately so was the second batch but they were taken off the bill. They said it was the batter for some reason... But our waiter was courteous and helpful. The food was just ok, it needed more flavor. The hollandaise was more on the tart side. The scrambled eggs were bag eggs for sure and not real cracked eggs. The cheese was not melted on them either. The potatoes were the best part, they had a little sprinkle of sugar on them that balanced out the crispy savoriness. Worth a try. The honey cinnamon butter spread that's served with the biscuits is really good too. It's a little far out and was about 6.5 out of 10 for me, so not sure if I'd personally visit again, maybe if already in the area. I do recommend still giving them a try of your own. We came in on a Sunday after the rush and I have to admit that it took a very very very long time for our food to arrive - I think they had already started cleaning up and weren't ready for a party of 6 at 12:30 pm - not sure what the hold up was but it did take a long time!!! Our server, Amy, mentioned a few times that she was new so we tried to give her as much grace as we could - unfortunately there were some hiccups with our meal... The fried chicken salad had what looked like a cut up chicken tender on it so we had to ask for an additional piece of chicken - which Amy promptly brought us. Also with the salad, there were questions about what type of salad dressing were in stock so the salad came naked and it took a few minutes to get Italian dressing...the salad should have been the easiest thing to make but it had the most issues. I think everyone else's' meals came out without a hitch but I do want to warn you that the pineapple upside down pancake is GINORMOUS!!! So come with your appetite! I love that they do flights of everything from bloody Mary's to espresso martinis - how fun is that! And the fact that the Bloody Mary's come with biscuits is a major win - I couldn't eat all three but it really was a fun way for everyone to try the different flavors before our meals arrived - and thank goodness I ordered the flight because as I mentioned...our food took a LOoooooooooooooong time to arrive. After a little trouble finding a good local place that was not overcrowded or had enough seating, we came upon this place. The name is fun. The menu uses puns to name things and is quite clever. And the vibe was bubbly and very pleasant, overall. It was a busy Saturday morning and many people waiting but we, asa party of 4, were seated immediately. I am thinking they must have had several large parties waiting to be seated. As we are still on our week s getaway, if was Me, Wifey, youngest and MIL again. Order: Complete-O Burrito Caramel Apple pancakes You Had Me at Taco St. Louis Slinger Coffee Mimosa They have a lot of information on their unique type of coffee, which should indicate great coffee. MIL was not a fan. She switched to hot tea. The coffee drinkers, me and youngest, liked it - and Wifey, who is more of a sipper, said it was good for sipping, but not her normal preference and indicated it tasted pretty chicory to her. I thought the coffee had an interesting taste. It wasn't bold. It was distinctive. Again interesting and different. Yes, I said that twice. But, it was THAT different. I think it was good. But I really like it bold. Youngest thought it was very good. Both wifey and youngest enjoyed one Bellini Mimosas and both really liked them. MIL found the tea much more enjoyable than the coffee. I can understand her feelings about the coffee, as it was not a normal taste. Caramel Apple Pancake: big enough to split four ways. Reviews from all of us ranged from "I didn't like it" to "I thought it was delicious". A friend and I wanted to do brunch today. We knew it would be busy with it being a holiday. We were sat within us walking in. We did have a smaller party compared to the majority. Our servers name was Elizabeth. Very friendly. I had a cup of their twisted Joe coffee- which is the underground reserve by Goshen. Very good. They give you another mug of creamer and coffee stirrers. I used only one cream and sugar. For food we both wanted something with eggs. She had the mind ya biscuit. It had seasoned potatoes, eggs how you want, and biscuits of course. I went with My big fat green brunch. Which had scrambled eggs, sausage, naan ( very good) with gravy, potatoes, and cheese. The other cup was what I think is a spicy kranch? The only little hiccup we had was wait time on food took long and k had to wipe my chair it had some chocolate or sauce on it. I'm really bummed to write this review. I've wanted to try the Twisted Biscuit for a while because I heard they offer good GF options. This is my review of my experience this weekend. The twisted biscuit in Edwardsville, Illinois is a brunch and breakfast restaurant that also serves lunch daily. I had heard that this restaurant started off very strong and had a fairly good reputation in town and so when I was driving to St. Louis, I decided to stop at the twisted biscuit For brunch. Coming into the restaurant it was moderately busy but not packed. There were a number of waitresses and staff and we were greeted by a nice lady who sat us fairly quickly. Our waitress was very kind, she informed us of the quarterly specials and ask for our drinks. These were the best parts of the experience. We ordered our food fairly quickly and then waited 3/4 of an hour before it arrived. The gluten-free biscuits were crumbly and cold, they clearly were either overcooked or the dough did not have enough moisture. Everyone's food was cold and universally We weren't satisfied. It's not uncommon at a restaurant that one person may not like what they got but when there are six people who all feel that the food was lacking or the value wasn't there that's a red flag. This food took forever to come out and then was cold, eggs runny or watery, the omelettes were both dry and over cooked, and the GF biscuits would make ya cry they were so dry. In the end, the twisted biscuit did not present well. It wasn't just one or two small things, it was a wholesale miss. One thing that I always observe when interacting with service professionals is if they ask me, how did I enjoy the food, or thank me for my business, or ask me if the service was up to their expectations. When people don't do those things it's often correlated with a less than positive referenceable experience. I doubt I will ever return to the Twisted Biscuit Brunch, although I like to give second chances. My recommendation to the management is fairly straightforward. 1. Keep your bathrooms clean - they were not. 2. Coach your staff to smile and introduce themselves to guests. (They did do this!!) 3. Ask how a meal turned out. 4. Say "thank you" for choosing your restaurant 5. Ask patrons to come back. Notice I didn't include "make your food better". Although I believe this is obviously key, it's down the list from the serve experience. Only one of the things above happened. I think the Twisted Biscuit could massively improve overnight with some staff coaching and then examining their menu or cooking strategy. Running a biz is hard and working to serve people is tough. There is a lot of room for positive change here and I think they can pull it off with some focus and attention. I see the owner posting here so it's obvious they care!! read more

A fun little spot. We were in town in the middle of a cross country move and stopped in. The service was pretty good. Our server was helpful and made sure our drinks were always full. The restaurant was clean and had quite a few different seating options(booths and/or tables). I got the plot twist French toast and it was pretty good. The menu I saw on here was not quite what we got, but I think Covid changed a lot of menus. My French toast was what the menu described, but it left me wanting a little. Great food and atmosphere. I had chicken me out and a vanilla almond cold brew. My husband had heuvos rancheros. Both were really good. We also got a sampler of four of their flavors of biscuit. Loved the chance to try the different styles. Based on the decor and wall art we assumed the place was a franchise, but no. Brunch was a blast at Twisted Biscuit! We enjoyed our different drinks (mimosas, screwdrivers, and the Bloody Mary even came with a giant piece of bacon and tiny biscuit!). We started off with a small basket of cinnamon raisin biscuits - so good and warm! The small basket comes with 4 biscuits and a side of whipped sweet cream cheese. I got the Chick Me Out with a side of potatoes - I always love when brunch places have different condiments at each table (ketchup, Cholula, syrup, peanut butter, jellies, etc.). Came in for brunch after hearing good things. The menu for drinks and food both looked amazing. We ordered salted caramel java and pomegranate sunrise for drinks. Both were ok, nothing special. Then we had a Bloody Mary flight with classic, spicy, and dirty. The dirty was the best. Classic was not good. The food we ordered was the caramel apple pancake, ménage egg trios and a chicken mac special. All of the sides came out barely warm. By the time we ate it was all cold. We had very friendly customer service. The place was very clean. And the menu was very cool. The food itself is very ok. It's not great but, it's also not bad. The portion sizes are very reasonable. The kids M&M pancake was a good meal, but there are not m&ms in the pancake they're just sprinkled on top. My husband's pineapple upside down pancake was large and very good. My daughter's lox bagel was underwhelming. And I got breakfast eggrolls off the "not so secret menu" that were pretty good. The mimosa flight was too sweet. This place was so good about a year ago. I've been back multiple times and it seems to get worse each time. One time I waited over an hour for my food with no apologies nor any concessions from management that they might be aware of the issue. Went back today, I just keep trying, and my friend ordered the eggs benedict. The eggs were completely solid, no runny yokes at all. I ordered the huevos twisteros. The eggs were cooked correctly but the chili was pasty, the avocados were wilted, and the tortilla strips were burnt.
