Lack of urgency or concern when urgently referred for an MRI. Conflicting statements from doctors. Office staff was kind.

This was my second visit with Dr Czyrny (pronounced "Churny" if you ever need an appointment). If…read moreyou've ever had a nerve conduction study, you're probably cringing at the thought of having to have TWO of them done. But hang with me. The first time I saw Dr. Czyrny was before I had a spinal fusion surgery. My orthopedic surgeon sent me here prior to cutting into me. I didn't know what to expect and really didn't do any homework ahead of time. My ortho told me that I'd feel some "tingling" and some "slight shocking" feelings, but that was it. It honestly didn't sound too bad. I've got a few tattoos, so needles don't exactly scare me. I wish I could tell you more about that initial appointment, but I really don't remember that much about it. It was in 2015. Nothing really stands out. After a car accident in 2017, my shoulder specialist sent me to see Dr. Czyrny for a nerve conduction study because I was complaining of some shoulder pain that sounded a lot like a torn rotator cuff. He did some X-rays, an MRI, and then felt the nerve conduction study was important. I knew I had been before, but had forgotten what kind of adventure I was in for, so I did some homework this time. Holy crap! To say this scared the pants off me is an understatement! I watched videos and read reviews that had me so scared that I was ready to call the whole thing off. However, the morning of my appointment, I found my biggest & brightest pair of big girl undies and went into that appointment expecting a horrifying experience, but knowing I'd live to tell about it. As I sat in the waiting room, a calm feeling came over me when I started to think logically. This nerve conduction study was something I had done before. This procedure didn't stand out in my mind in any way. It didn't stand out as being awful or as being incredibly painful. It didn't stand out as being anything. That made me realize that it probably wasn't going to be so bad. When my name was called and I went back to the procedure room, Dr. Czyrny eased my fears pretty instantly. He didn't necessarily recognize my face, but he did know my name and he knew he had done the study on me before. He asked me if I had any questions, and I told him I didn't really remember the first experience. He said, "Well, that means either it isn't as bad as people say it is or maybe I am actually skilled at this after all!" We both chuckled at his joke, and he had me sit on the table while he began with the needles. I felt literally almost nothing. Remember when you were a kid in the '70s and you'd shuffle your socked feet across the shag carpet? Then you'd go find your little brother and touch him, both of you screaming for just a second during that quick electric shock? No? Was that just me? Well, this was less than that. Dr. Czyrny really is skilled at what he does, and while he had to go up and down both arms, I had no problems sitting like a champ for the procedure. I didn't need my big girl undies after all. I could most definitely have done just fine with little girl undies. Certainly no need for granny panties! So if you're having a nerve conduction study and you're scared out of your wits, I'm not going to guarantee that the procedure won't hurt at all. But I will tell you that if you have that study done with Dr. Czyrny, it'll be a breeze! (Still, you should probably wear some underwear.)

Now, I maybe have 1 per week. The staff at Dent is nice and they know their stuff. I'm happy they have found trigger point injections as a solution, because I've tried many other treatment plans with two other doctors- medication, massage, sinus blocks, infusions, and diet. It's been a crazy ride. The parking lot is always pretty full, so I know I won't always get a good spot. Even the handicapped parking is five or six spaces from the door. Dent is also a very busy place,so they try to schedule your appointments 2-3 at a time, if you get a monthly treatment like I do. They are definitely booked most of the time, so that makes it more difficult, if you need to reschedule. Waiting time can vary depending on the day... probably if the patient before you is late lol. I'm usually seen pretty quickly, but there have been times where I've waited thirty minutes or more. All and all, this is working for me, so I'm happy.

I have been a patient at DENT for chronic migraine since 2022 and it had been nothing but chaos and poor communication. When I began treatment at Dent, I had been experiencing migraines for around five years. It took me six months to get an initial appointment, and from then on it has been nothing but disappointment. The first doctor I saw usually only gave me around 15 minutes of his time during appointments and would speak over me when I tried to address my concerns and explain my problems. Soon after that, when we started a treatment plan and things still weren't getting better, he suggested that I go for a weight loss consultation, saying it could affect my migraines. I know I'm not a neurologist, but I am smart enough to do some research. I know that my weight does not affect the migraines I experience. After that, I had requested a new doctor because I was simply appalled that this was offered to me. When I told them that I would like a new doctor, they said that they could do a transfer of care internally to a different doctor. All they needed to do was send a request. This took THREE MONTHS and required me calling multiple times to ask about it. When I finally saw a new doctor, he gave me about 5 minutes of his time, not listening to any of my concerns again, and just said that we will stay the course on the treatment that was not working for me. When I went to a Botox appointment, I absolutely broke down to the PA, telling her that nothing is working and no one is listening to me. She actually listened to my needs, and tried a switching some of my meds around, but now she will not respond to ANY of my portal messages. Today's situation was what really broke me. I recently found out I was pregnant and needed to be advised on what medication I can take during pregnancy (spoiler alert: only Tylenol ), and I had a terrible migraine so I wanted relief asap. Today I have called them a total of 6 times!!! I waited 30 minutes on hold and when I was the next person in line the phone hung up. Then I called back again to find I got pushed to the back of the queue and was number 11. Waited another 45mins for a call back to then wait 20 minutes more on hold to finally get a hold of nurse triage. When I finally tell them what's going on, all they can do is put in an urgent message to my DR asking for an infusion, which is fine. I then wait for FIVE HOURS to hear back and that all my dr provided was a list of safe medications I can take while pregnant, but no order for an infusion, so I asked the nurse to please ask for that and that things are getting worse. Then 2 hours after that they finally call me back saying she ordered an infusion for me, but I missed the call from the nurse BY ONE MINUTE because I was too busy vomiting from the pain. I attempt to call back and then I was told I was number 19 in the queue to just end up leaving a message and not talk to anyone!!!!! I started this whole process at 9:30am, it is now 4pm and I still haven't been called by the infusion place and now probably won't be able to get an infusion today because they don't know how to communicate with each other. All in all, DENT is taking advantage of their status of the "biggest neurological group in WNY" and treating patients TERRIBLY because they basically have no where else to go. DONT GO HERE NO MATTER

I respected my medication, I appreciated it because it gave me the ability to care for many loved ones. Quality of life was returned following 3 failed surgeries and countless specialists. Dr. Gosey cared. He took a variety of approaches. My dosages were at a level I was in my right mind . Today pain management for most is abusive. Many are getting ripped off the only med that works anymore ( with drastic reductions in strength already). and pushed towards more surgery, etc. The pain scales means nothing. It seems funny to me that if patients abused their meds can go and blame the doctor. I lost a lot of loved ones due to alcoholism- they abused alcohol. Did anyone blame the alcohol makers? The stores that sell it? no. Another thing to question is it seems ( I am in a few pain sufferers groups) across America. Seems many states had their main pain management Doctors arrested. Then the attack on pain patients. While doctor Gosey was under attack- workers comp was already doing court cases to get patients off meds. This includes pain creams, pain patches and more. It all felt so orchestrated. Some blamed Gosey for their woes but who is considering the pain patients that ended their lives when pain relief was ripped away. I will forever be grateful to Dr. Gosey for allowing me to feel very little pain , so I could have quality of life. I'm being stripped of it now, there is zero compassion. My quality of life is low but that is not an issue for the pain management group. He will always be to me the doctor that listened, had compassion, and offered a variety of treatments including nerve blocks, pressure point injections, creams made up at pharmacy that helped with swelling, pain, lidocaine patches and more. All no longer ok- not ordered or allowed by comp. Dr. Gosey will always be my favorite doctor, because he cared.

I returned to him to repair a botched surgery on a slipped disc in my lower back In 2019. The surgery was done in 2 stages. On the first day he entered through 2 parallel incisions on my right side and used robotic arms to start building a cage from L-1 down. on the second day he made 2 more incisions on either side of my former scar. He removed the old hardware and several broken pieces of the plastic disc spacers. He completed the cage using cadaver bone spacers. Unfortunately after the surgery, there was a bulge on my right side above my waist at the site of the 2 parallel incisions. He refused to take any responsibility for this bulge which was originally thought to be a lipoma. Further testing determined that a HERNIA had occurred at the site of the incisions. Since then, I have had 2 surgeries in an attempt to repair the hernia on my right side above my waist where Dr DenHaese made the initial incisions. The bulge is still there and will warrant a 3rd surgery in the near future. My out of pocket costs have been prohibitive. Time lost from my job as a Realtor for all of these surgeries has resulted In a loss of income at a time when I need extra money for chiropractors, physical therapists and surgery co-pays. The worst part is that the spinal surgery is now failing too. On my last visit Dr DenHanse told me to go ahead and have the hernia repaired again because he can always go in from my left side to correct his spinal surgery that has now failed. His cavalier attitude is what hurts the most. My sciatic nerve is still "pinched" causing burning pain down my right leg. My leg goes out on me when the nerve is pinched making me fear that I will fall. I will pursue further treatment with a different surgeon.

There is a station where you can borrow complimentary chargers, which was great, as I was not expecting this and my phone was low on battery.
