Then last week I brought the clearance forms and watched as the receptionist scanned them into my chart. I then called on Friday and was told the doctor hadn't signed off yet but should do it that day. I called today (Tuesday) and it still hadn't been done. If they weren't the primary dental surgeons in WV, I would go elsewhere gladly.

When I woke from general anesthesia, which I should never had due to a medication I was on, only 2 teeth had been removed. No explanation, did not see the doctor either before or after the procedure and I was promptly ushered out the back door to my ride. My vein blew when an IV was attempted resulting in a very large bruise all down my arm with a second attempt being made in the same arm. I called a couple days later to try to get an explanation and was told that there was confusion over one of the teeth to be removed being part of a bridge. I have NO bridges in my mouth! My dentist even confirmed it with Mt. State. They charged me for x rays and seeing the surgeon in October which I did not see him. That money was refunded as payment must be made BEFORE they touch you. Fast forward to present day. A different doctor at Mt. State was requested by my regular dentist as I wasn't comfortable going back to the original doctor. I was x rayed again for the 4th time in a little over a year. I was taken back to a room and was scheduled for the extraction of 1 tooth. The nurse ask me if I was there for 3 extractions? After being left in the room for almost an hour, a different person came in and said they weren't going to extract the tooth in question until my dentist removed the existing crown on it. This was the first I had heard of this and the appointment was made in January. They knew they were not going to remove it and said nothing to me nor was my dentist contacted. Again never spoke with a doctor! As a result of these two experiences at Mt. State I have no confidence in them and am shocked at how I was treated. Needless to say I will be with a new oral surgeon in the near future.

Recently I had to have an upper molar which connects to your sinuses, surgically removed. Although…read morelocal was injected at the site and I did not feel pain there, I felt much pain from my lower jaw muscles and other adjacent teeth being pried against to remove the tooth. The drilling into the jaw bone created pain and a severe headache. I had to even make them stop to take a break because my respirations and heart rate had increased so much I was dizzy. It took 2.5 hours of drilling, prying and pulling to remove the cracked tooth. The tooth had fused to my maxilla bone because a root canal had been performed on it some years before. I begged for Nitrous Oxide gas or to be given even a Valium to relax and/or aid in the pain relief, but was refused. It is documented N.O gas does aid in pain relief along with providing relaxation. I was told Tylenol should take care of any pain after the surgery. Trauma to the bone creates more pain than any other pain. I was told by the receptionist that the insurance my employer switched to was fighting their office of scheduled fees. That is not my fault. I paid over half of the bill at the conclusion of that torture because of how little the receptionist stated they would receive from the insurance company. I am an Operating Room Registered Nurse, and would NEVER have permitted a surgeon to treat one of our patients so inhumanely. The headache lasted several days afterwards, along with severe pain mainly from my lower jaw of being pried against with significant force for so long. I could not speak, or eat for nearly 3 days afterwards. If you need a tooth extraction, find another oral surgeon.

The space between top and bottom teeth when your jaws at rest. I couldn't get food in my mouth or even close my lips around the teeth three months after extractions. They told me to figure it out the best way I knew how when I ask how I was supposed to eat. They told me the teeth looked good. Everyone in my family told me they looked bad and it wasn't just me not adjusting which is kinda what aspen insinuated. I don't recommend. The dentist refused to see me at my second soft reline and refused to grind down the thick spots in the dentures. Said she can not do anything while im healing. Even after healing these teeth are far too long and caused me jaw pain. I got refunded less than half my money. 1300 out of 2900. They're just after money they don't care how your smile looks. I deal with the public for my job and now im stuck with HUGE teeth that could never look natural or even passable. I hate the dentist there. The assistant aren't any better. Save your smile and go somewhere else.

Dr. Tupta asked me to return to his office as soon as the RC procedure was complete, and he would work me in for a permanent filling of the treated tooth. I am a certified "dentaphobe," thanks to a traumatic experience during my first dental appointment as a child (think the Steve Martin character in "Little Shop of Horrors"), but the way I was treated by Dr. Tupta and his office personnel gave me no qualms about returning to his office to have the procedure completed.
