Specifically the rude witch at the front desk office manager…read moreAngel Absolutely unacceptable experience at Great Expressions Dental Center on Bloomingdale. I had two appointments for two children scheduled at 8:30 and 8:40 AM, and I will not be returning. The woman at the front desk was shockingly rude and dismissive. I politely asked if the TV volume could be turned down because it was extremely loud, and she flatly said "no." No explanation, no courtesy, no professionalism. Then she blatantly lies and said it couldn't be turned down and that it was set at one volume. Which I knew was a lie. Then after I unplugged it then she became irate and I said I asked you to please turn it down. She refused to and I unplugged it again. This time she turned it down. I said so you could have done that when I initially asked. This proves she was just being nasty and mean for no apparent reason. I was not rude at first. But because she was being mean and hateful towards me yes I then gave her the same treatment. No one deserves to be treated in that manner from your staff and especially someone in her position. You're a manager and this is how you treat customers/patients? Someone needs to learn office management skills and customer service etiquette. Angel apparently lacks both. The TV was so loud that I could not hear the staff member who called me back to discuss whether there were any issues with my child. This is a small office, which made the situation even more unreasonable. Another woman in the lobby had to move from underneath the TV because it was so loud, confirming this was clearly a problem. I also observed another woman in the lobby with her son who was visibly upset, apparently experiencing the same lack of courtesy and professionalism. This behavior did not appear to be an isolated incident. Front-desk staff are the face of a medical practice, and this individual was the epitome of rude, nasty, and disrespectful. There was no effort to accommodate patients, de-escalate, or show basic human decency. Completely unprofessional and deeply disappointing. Not sure if I'll ever return and I'll advise anyone else to not come here if they have a choice. Never in my life had someone be so rude nasty and dismissive when you simply asked them to turn tv down. UNACCEPTABLE!!! Never returning as long as she works here. After reading other reviews this is not an isolated incident with her demeanor. Horrible, horrible, horrible!!! If this is who Great Expression has on the front line representing them nothing great about the experience at all. Even the young ladies in the back are more personable and friendly. Ask your other employee Quielss I had a hard time hearing her when she called me back to discuss if I had any concerns. She even apologized for her managers behavior and rudeness and tv blasting like we're in a sports bar or club!!! Then again she may be afraid to speak up and say exactly what happened for fear of Angel firing her since she's the manager. No worries I won't be returning until she's gone. Worst experience ever at any dental office we've ever been to. Be warned if Angel is working of her nasty attitude and demeanor! Just read the other comments about her. After posting my review and scrolling I saw other reviewers who experienced the same issue with her. Tried calling corporate while in your lobby but it ask for me to input an extension. This way you could have heard it for yourself. And not just take Angels word on the incident. Yes I unplugged the tv since she refused to turn it down. That's why she came out into the lobby and I took her picture. After unplugging it TWICE only then did she turn it down. That's all she had to do in the first place instead of being rude and lying saying it can't be turned down and it only has one setting. She could have done this initially but for some reason she said NO!!! Flat out. Rude, Nasty and Hateful. No excuses and UNACCEPTABLE!!!!

Kept going back every few days and she was arrogant and took no responsibility for her poor work. She is suppose to be gone according to Dr Karthik/part owner. They all just lie. Now im lossing a tooth that was just a simple crown "attempt". She left me with a 20 yrs old assistant who knew nothing of what she was doing that not only dropped numb gel into my throat and on my tongue while applying to the whole left side of my mouth top and bottom for a back lower molar, so I couldn't breathe or swallow but she then proceeded to not know which direction to cement in temporary and put it in wrong. Had to have 20 minutes of drilling to make it so my tooth wouldn't smash into top molar. My nerves endings were lit from so much abuse. The whole left side of my face was swollen and numb for weeks. Only took 4 minutes to drill original tooth ( broke it)and I had a hole in my tongue and cut the roof of my mouth. She injected two syringes of lidocaine which was total overkill to up the price. While smashing into two top teeth with drill! Also billed me for core build up which was never preformed/ insurance fraud! Then Dr Karthik sent me to Brandon office where nothing was done after going in atleast 9 times. Total incompetence thoughtout entire company. Dr Karthik reviews in Tampa are 3.4 rating and she in charge? Macy Mcelwany along with Karthik are being reported to dental board and bbb. Once again RUN!!! There are so many other reputable dental offices to chose from. Followed up with grievance to my insurance and after evaluation they refused to pay them for anything they did. Also they still owe me 166.00 from work done last year that I was over billed for. Still waiting.

My daughter needed a procedure; her canine teeth are not coming in. Our insurance for this procedure was a mess. One location they sent, it took three visits over 2 months only to have them say they could not do it. Our ortho recommended Moffett and I am so glad we went. First visit one week, procedure the next. My daughter said it was the best dentist she has been to. Something I appreciated, because they did not take our insurance, they gave us a discount. This made a big difference. A place that cares about their patients enough to make up for the insurance companies not caring is a place you should go. Love Moffett. They are our go to place for oral surgery.

    Dr. Moffett runs a sham of an office. From their website:…read more"..we work hand-in-hand with you to maximize your insurance reimbursement..". This is a blatant lie. Consult in February, told insurance would cover 80%, it would take 4-6 weeks for the insurance process. Months later in June, received a text that I'm responsible for 100%. They will not allow me to reschedule in order for insurance verification again, and are gladly telling me a deposit is being forfeited. They do not have anyone doing billing and refuse to contact the insurance company. They state it is my responsibility to ensure the insurance covers the procedure. This office, including the receptionist, office manager, and Dr. Moffett simply regurgitate repeatedly what their policy is, with no care for the patients. Run and stay away from Dr. Moffett and his office! Any issues will result with Dr. Moffett calling you and simply end in you being yelled at. I've never been called asinine by a doctor until this morning. BEWARE, you as the patient will be responsible for contacting and ensuring your insurance will be coving any work done here. The opposite of how all doctors offices are run.

I've been coming to Dr. Wareham for several years, after a recommendation from my retiring dentist, but I had dental insurance from my employer. I was scheduled for my routine 6-month cleaning and the office staff informed me I had a $213 responsibility. I explained I had United Healthcare Advantage which is 100% coverage with -0- copay. Dr. Wareham signed the contract to be an in network provider for medicare advantage dental for United Healthcare Advantage, but wanted to pass on the cost difference of his normal fees for the cleaning to me the patient. The office said, that medicare only pays him $37 for a cleaning and $17 for an exam, leaving me with the remaining patient responsibility of $213. I asked to speak to the Dr. after she called united healthcare, because I had already spoken to them to confirm my coverage..... she claimed to be on hold with United, but when I called them back, they had no record of their practice calling. It's bad enough when I pay so much per month for my medicare advantage plan, and then your dentist refuses to obey the rules that they already contractually signed to obligate to honor.
