I was having problems with my teeth and the only solution my previous dentist gave me was to do extractions with no recommendation on how or who might do dental reconstruction. I was really stressed out. When I found Dr Syed and the staff at Dental Maters I was so grateful and relieved! Not only is Dr Syed a warm spirited person, his office is a full service facility and he is highly knowledgeable of all the latest procedures and technologies. I've had two successful implants over the last year and recently had my teeth cleaned, my smile has never been brighter! I had the worst experience. I had a partial that was recommended by this so called dentist Dr. Habeeb. She is the worst. She stated that I needed a reline on my partial. I went in on March 17 and she put so much ex on my mouth that it stuck to the roof of my mouth I could not breathe. The dentist that I asked to work on me did not I was passed off to this new inexperienced dentist it was a nightmare. He suggested that I go home and wait to weeks until it loosens up I said I can't breathe he decided he would take it out. It took three hours to have this piece that she glued to the roof of my mouth cut out, blood was all over the bib they put on me. They quickly disposed of it. He said I want to talk to you this Dr. Syed. He stated your partial had to be cut out of your mouth and it's damaged I will make a new one for you. It took him until June 9th to complete the garbage partial he gave me. I would not recommend this unprofessional dentist practice to anyone run. This was the worse experience I have ever had and now I have a fear of going to the dentist. Stay away from here!!!!!!!!!! read more

Dr was very offensive first she told me I had a crack tooth in the back I told her that my tooth has been like that for years and that my previous doctor was monitoring it Then she told me that it was decayed I'm sure that is not true because it gives me no trouble And because I had it x-rayed every year and every year it showed that there was no further change Nevertheless, she didn't ask about that She tried to shame me and scare me into having further work done She didn't care if I could afford it or not Then, when I went to pay at the end, they didn't want to take a credit card only a debit card Everybody takes credit cards I know they get charged a small percentage, but all the grocery store stores take it. Nobody ever asks me to use my debit card instead. So why are they nickel and diming me? And why are they trying to shame me and scare me into having extensive work done that I can't afford If she cared about me and thought it was necessary to have work done, she would've suggested that I go down to the university of Illinois where it was free or or subsidized I feel like all they're trying to do is make money read more

TOTAL SCAMMERS! I took my grandma here for a simple dental clearance form before her surgery. We were quoted $112 for the visit. Without anyone's consent, the dentist performed a cleaning and then charged $150 instead. They also refused to fill out the clearance form unless we agreed to additional major dental work. The form only asks if there's infection or not. And there wasn't any! Overall, it was a really frustrating and disappointing experience and would never recommend to anyone. read more

Very thorough from start to finish. Cleaning was amazing, One of the best ones I've had in the area - the last dentist I had (North Shore Dental - Dr Gordon) was a sh*tshow; said I had a ridiculous amount of cavities and the cleaning was a 10 min scrape of my teeth. Where as here with Dental Matters, it's literally like I have a whole new mouth. They also explained all the fees and payment plan required for what I need to get done. I got all four of my wisdom teeth extracted here several months ago. When I first went in for a consultation and x-ray they took their time and spent 40 minutes answering all of my questions and concerns. Dr. Syed is extremely compassionate, patient, culturally competent, respectful, and knowledgeable. I wish I didn't put off the procedure for 10 years, because he made it all very easy and as painless as he could! He's a very good dentist. The numbing and nitrous oxide took most of my time during the 1.5 hour procedure. The actual extractions took 15 minutes, and since both bottom wisdom teeth were coming in crooked as complex extractions, I consider this very impressive. I would recommend this dentist to anyone who is nervous about the procedure as the staff do genuinely care here. It's also very easy to make appointments with a quick turnaround time. The parking is easy as well. I would give 4.5 stars mainly due the assistants working there. Although they are all very kind and smart, they didn't properly save my X-rays and overall weren't the best with communication. For example, they were confused over when my follow-up appointment should be and I left there with very little post-op instructions. I felt mostly on my own in figuring out what to do post-op by searching their easy to navigate website. In general, this is a really great dental practice. read more

VERY BASIC that she missed!!! Went there for molar filling. 4/19/22 noon time. I have to go back TWICE first: when the anesthetic wares off i felt my inner side of my tooth rough and sharp, she forgot to polish. Second: when I'm trying to floss my tooth it wont go through, no space in between the tooth, no wonder there's always constant light pressure in that area. And she RE-DO the filling in back part of the tooth to get the floss in. read more

Dr. Syed is an excellent and incredibly gentle dentist! Dr. Syed listened and answered all my questioned, he did not recommend unnecessary dental procedures that many other dentist had talked to me about. For example, I have a "temporary" crown from childhood.My prior dentist have tried talking me into replacing the crown at quite a high expense to my pocketbook. Dr. Syed has consistently discouraged me from removing the crown since I've had no problems with the crown to date. I have a great deal of respect for Dr. Syed and her staff. Dr. Syeds dental office is also very beautiful and creates a relaxing ambience prior to any procedure being performed. I find this to be a must have for those who do not like going to the dentist! I set my appointment for today and I went up there just in time before 9:30 and they have my information they have my insurance both of my insurance Humana and Medicaid and they don't tell me that the insurance is going to pay half of it but I have to come up with $150 for my chipped tooth in the back I said this is crazy but yeah I told him I have Medicaid and they don't longer take Medicaid and they only found out like a couple weeks ago and they never even told me how unprofessional I would never go back there and I cancel my other appointment with them I'm going somewhere else the customer service they stuck in that but the doctors that clean my teeth they do a good job and is nothing wrong with them it's the customer service part they need to do better read more

Dental Matters is a clean, modern, and pleasant dental office. I looked them up last minute because my insurance was expiring at the end of the month, and they fit me in within 2 business days. I don't think I've ever had such a nice time going to the dentist! The hygienist is really sweet, the dentist is friendly and approachable, and the staff is super helpful and competent. They even have some lightweight equipment that makes checkup xrays much more comfortable and faster than the old fashioned machines that most offices use. If I could rate this office something beyond 5 stars I definitely would! First off, the office atmosphere is AMAZING. Very modern and serene. They have drinks located in the lobby (water, juice packs etc...). They also have a TV in every "room". They have a children's play area so it's nice for kids who have to come to appointments with their parents. The staff is extremely friendly and all smiles and willing to help answer questions and explain procedures and costs. Dr. Syed was so gentle and very thorough. I cannot praise him enough! He made my extractions very comfortable and his demeanor is very calm and friendly which definitely helped calm my nerves. The best thing is I went in for my tooth pain and that is EXACTLY what was focused on. I have severe anxiety when it comes to going to dentists and I have tried my luck with very well know dental locations in the Skokie area only to be turned off by their lack of care towards the patient and their attention towards robbing me of my insurance money.
