The worst thing is I feel like all of this was probably avoidable. On the bright side, one of the dentists there, Jason Brenner, was very nice and did what he could for me. I was charged almost $2,000 cash for a deep cleaning despite my dental and medical insurance are in good standing, and you are a in-network dentist. I was a new patient. A month before my deep cleaning appointment, I asked the Philippina front desk to check for an 'Estimate of Benefits'. The Philippina promised to do so. When I was in the office, I was surprised to be asked for an immediate payment of almost $ 1,700. I questioned for the high charge for deep cleaning. In the past, I paid out of pocket off around $850 for the same service. At the time of payment, the Philippina replied that the high cost was partly due to the antibacterial and laser used in the deep cleaning treatment. I was also told that the dental office will reimburse me any difference if I overpaid after the final insurance settlement. To add insult to my injury of the above lies, I received another bill for additional payment of $ 200 for the above services. This dental office wants me to pay close to $2,000 for a deep cleaning. It turns out the front desk did not ask for an 'Estimate of Benefits'. When I protested the charges, I was given the run-arounds. The last 2 times I called the dental offices, my phone calls were picked up but not answered. I could hear the background noise without anyone to talk to me. The office staff and hygienists were all super friendly. After visiting way too many sketchy dentist offices in strip malls around Chicago, their office and facilities were a breath of fresh air. New equipment, bright exam rooms and nice decorations. Dr. Dave is incredibly friendly, knowledgeable and really does talk you through each step of the exam and appointment. He wants to make sure you don't feel any pain at all. I had one dentist who attempted to numb me with anesthetic 3 different times, and I could still feel the drill. Dr. Dave did it once and I was good and numb in no time - didn't feel a thing. Finding a dentist you like and trust is incredibly difficult, I think. Had they been in network it would have been cheaper to do the work and had they been in my network I would have received a courtesy discount because I have year long waiting period. I REGRET paying the $125.00. If this business has any decency they will refund my money! FYI: In network root canal: $725 and out of network root canal $1200-$1500. Most people don't like getting dental work done, laying on the chair getting poked and prodded with needles, drilled, feeling your entire head vibrating with each turn of the drill. I was terrified, but Dr. Weisbart made me as comfortable as possible, making sure I wasn't in any pain or discomfort. I've been to other dentists who had an awful bedside manner and were just plain rough. Not the case here. Dr. Weisbart talked me through most of the procedure and didn't make me feel stupid for having a bad tooth. I was out of there in about an hour, and here I am the next day feeling almost no pain at all.
