Let me preface this by stating, I really hate going to the dentist! Dr Tamimi and his staff make everything so much easier than I have dealt with in the past. The hygienist/assistant was very professional. I had radiographs performed and she was very kind and explained the entire process. She was very informative with her cleaning and oral health. Lucky for me, I didn't need anything more than a cleaning, so I didn't spend a lot of time with Dr Tamimi. However, the short amount of time I did spend with him was quite pleasant. He welcomed me to the practice and was very warm. There's some controversy in the medical community if yelp reviews should be allowed, but I always search yelp for my Drs as it's user driven and I really want to know who you feel. So, I highly recomment giving Dr Tamimi a try. read more

They asked for payment upfront and they would reimburse me when Humana paid them They were paid but I never received reimbursement, I have asked several times to speak to billing but no one returns my call. I would make sure insurance is paid before procedure so you don't put out extra money to them. read more

I have no complaints about Dr Tamimi and his hygienist. They do a pretty decent job. If you have kids though, you might want to find an office that is more comfortable with them. The office is a downer here. They are hard to get a hold of, and I get routed to a central office where the staff have zero idea about what's going on. Then there are times that I do reach the office, but they ask if they can call me back...and they usually don't. My biggest gripe is how they don't work with my insurance very well. I'm on a DMO/HMO. You figure that since it's a dental "maintenance" type of plan, and the fact that they are one of the few offices that support this plan, they would know what is covered. But they don't. They just run whatever they consider normal treatments under their guidelines, so I'm left with covering extra fluoride treatments out of pocket. Kind of annoying, but it's also what I get for trusting that they know how stuff works (if I were more cynical, I'd say it's extra profit for them). read more

Back in 2015, this place was great. Root canal and wisdom teeth surgery went off without a hitch. But shortly after the pandemic, it seems like this place became all about profits. They cancelled on me repeatedly for basic annual checkups and it's been about 3 years now and I never heard back to reschedule. In my last checkup, they just pushed some more expensive cleaning they offer but I didn't want it. They even charged an extra $10 for their masks and gloves. I have not been to the dentist in over 10 years. My last 2 dentists really hurt me, so it is very hard to trust dentists. I made an appointment, specifically stating what service is needed. I was very specific I needed a regular cleaning and a new night guard. They insist that I must have x-rays before they can do anything in my appointment. I thought this is a bit much for what I requested. I tried to explain about me needing a night guard and I was told I can discuss that with the dentist. So I get the extremely rough and painful x-rays. Eventually the dentist shows up. He walks in the room and tells me I need multiple crowns. I expressed my surprise and I get 'what did you expect after not going to the dentist for so long'. No discussion about the findings. no putting up the x-rays. I had to insist on him showing me on the x-ray what he saw. Why did I have to ask for that? Every dentist I have ever seen shows what they found on the x-ray. Then with much attitude I was shown 2 cavities. Explains that because of their location the only option is crowns. The other issues were not shown to me. I made it clear I don't want a crown and I had a hard recovering the last time I got a crown and really, I just want my night guard at this point. I was told we can't do the night guard until we take care of the cavities because the crowns will change the shape. The attitude has gotten worse with me voicing my objections to getting any crowns. Now fed up, tells me I can just go with the cleaning and night guard if I don't want to take care of it. OR I can just take my x-rays and get a second opinion. No cleaning was done. He says I must come back for a deep cleaning. They scheduled this for more than a moth later. Over 2 hours there and I got no service I asked for. Was billed hundreds of dollars to my insurance and I have to go back?! I have requested my x-rays 5 times now. I was told it is a simple email. I have left 3 messages with the answering service and have talked to the receptionist twice. Both times they say they will send it to my email. I think I will have to file a complaint with the Ohio State Dental Board. This intimidating, high-pressure selling and uncooperative records process seems unethical at best. read more

Zero communication during appointments. Wasn't told I would be given Novocaine for a cleaning until I asked why the doctor was bringing a syringe to my mouth. Told I needed a root canal elsewhere and fillings and the root canal would use my insurance almost entirely so signed me up for financing plan for the rest. They billed my insurance for the fillings AND had the line of credit on their books. How exactly was I to pay for the root canal, folks? Fast forward and I switch dentists. Dental works won't respond to their 3 requests for my X-rays so I had to pay 220$ out of pocket. And they still have my account overage from the line of credit and I can't get in contact with anyone that will return my calls to return it to me. Stay away from this place. read more

They canceled my wife's appt the day prior for cleaning that was made 6 months in advance and then said she had to wait another 6 months to make another one or one year between cleanings. Tried to explain to "Kim" that this was not fair as was their cancellation. She could have cared less and when I asked to speak to supervisor she said she was the office manager. Absolutely zero customer service or compassion. They of course have no way on their website to log a complaint but I am going to try an file a complaint with dental board as their is an option to do that. Nice office, knowledgeable dentist and staff, but don't bring your kids here if they need any kind of treatment. You will be sent to a pediatric dentist (which our insurance did not cover). The dentist would not send in an antibiotic for my son (which the pediatric dentist recommended for an abscess he had that was discovered at a routine cleaning he had at DentalWorks). Girlfriend had her wisdom teeth removed & I was elected to be her ride home. Nothing against the practice, but they have the worst waiting room ever! *Loud 80's music with 10 minutes of annoying booming commercials every 5 songs. (For the $1400 I just paid, they could at least buy a Pandora subscription) *They have a TV on the wall with rabbit ears... who knows if it even works, not that you'd be able to hear it over music. *Chairs are stained & very uncomfortable for any grown adult... especially after 2 hours. *No bottled water offered. They do have a Keurig machine, but no regular coffee. The business model of DentalWorks is to generate as much revenue per visit possible, then maneuver the client into third party financing to cover those dental procedures. Sure, DentalWorks might be a big box chain, but Dr. Tamimi and his team bring local charm and a whole lotta heart to their practice. I've been going here for a couple of years, and I think they're outstanding. My original review still tells a lot about what I love, but my last few visits really do warrant an update... Dr. Tamimi did some fillings for me over a year ago, and my teeth were really sensitive. So sensitive, in fact, that I totally avoided going back until recently. Call me a wimp. Dr. Tamimi remembered my problems a year later, and he took extra precautions with me this time around. He even called to check on me a week afterward to see how I was feeling! I really can't say enough great things about Doc - he has so much heart, and he genuinely cares about his patients. He makes something that's not so fun - such a better experience. read more

There are a few complaining reviews on here that do not represent the caliber of this office's staff, and I felt a duty to help their yelp review status after receiving excellent service at this office for 4 years now and they have done a wonderful job every time. Dr. Tamimi, every hygienist, and the front desk have always been polite, helpful, ready to explain and/or offer useful advice. She and I both have had many cleanings, other minor procedures, and even wisdom teeth removal here and they have done excellent, timely work every time. Best dentist ever and I'm old so I've seen more than a few. Dr. Tamimi is kind, articulate and exacting. My sister was passing through town and had a dental emergency. She's paralyzed so can't fully open her mouth. Dr. Tamimi saw her on short notice and gave her what he said was a temporary fix until she could see her regular dentist. When she got home, her regular dentist said nothing further needed to be done. Wish I could give him MORE stars. read more

Most of the dentists are great but difficult to understand since they are all foreigners and have trouble with English. One of the hygienists was also great but I only saw her once. She didn't work there very long. Everyone else was TERRIBLE. It seemed like every visit had different people working the desk and it just seemed like no one cared about the patients. Anytime you asked anything about billing they got rude and usually gave you bad information. This is a cut rate, high volume, poor service , rubber stamp chain operation and I will not go back. read more

This place is clean and professional but feels like the Wal-Mart of Dental offices. I was a patient here for 2 years and saw constant turn over in the staff. I don't believe I saw the same person twice. They are friendly but lack the personal touch of the "home town" dentist office. I ended up changing dentists mainly because it became a pain to try to even schedule an appointment. It took me 2 months just to get someone to answer a phone there to attempt to schedule then was told it would be June before they could accommodate my appointment request. For an industry that stresses getting a routine cleaning every 3-6 months this seems a bit inefficient. Go to them if you have no other options and don't care about the personal touch, you'll get a good cleaning, just don't expect to be cared about as a patient. read more

The scam artists of dental work! Do not go there and if you do, you have had your share of warnings from here. Story goes that I called first to make sure that they carry my insurance, they said oh yeah absolutely we "work" with all insurances. Ok, my bad I wasn't specific to say are you "in network" but I thought that was implied. Anyway, I was moving out of state and needed just a quick cleaning and check up. I went in, Doctor was friendly, but recommended a deeper cleaning. Sure why not, I asked for what it would cost me even though I am out of network, they said my insurance will cover 80% They have a big sign saying "you have to pay at time of service" fine, I will pay just tell me how much. I came in, got the work done and paid. I get a call from a collection agency 6 months later telling me I owe DentalWorks about $125.00.. What?!!! So I call DentalWorks and they say they only "estimated" my cost and insurance only covered 50% of the cost and I owe money. So let me get this straight: - You accepted me without letting me know that I am out of network, because you "work with so many insurance companies". - You recommended a procedure that I didn't need with the wrong cost. - You estimated the cost based on nothing, didn't even bother calling my insurance. Mind you, I worked for one of the biggest companies in Columbus and I am sure you had many patients from the same company (L Brands). - You didn't bother calling and kept mailing me bills to an old address. Do yourself a favor and go to a proper practice that worries about their reputation and do NOT go to this WalMart of doctors. I mean, they are in a a strip mall. read more

Unbelievable! Do NOT schedule here, and if you do, be very clear about what you're scheduling for. This is NOT a well oiled machine, and they only care about their time and money, not you and yours! I scheduled as a new patient needing a cleaning, and they knew that. This is the only office I have ever heard of that schedules their techs differently than their dentist. That's right, different schedules! Unless you want to WASTE your time, gas and zen, do NOT schedule here without double checking that you are scheduled for what you asked to be scheduled for, with the right people that you need to be scheduled with. I woke up in the middle of the night with a throbbing pain. I called the dentist's office as soon as it opened. Dr. Tamimi determined I needed a root canal and my tooth was infected. I also had a sinus infection. I needed to fly the next day, so he came in an hour early to treat my tooth so that I could fly!!! It was so very kind of him to do. Dr. Tamimi has a great sense of humor which helped take my mind off all the drilling. In addition to being a highly competent dentist, he's also a good person. read more

I normally wouldn't go to a place like this but it was close to my work and the reviews until this one are positive on here. I went to the same family dentist for 25 years until this appointment as he had just retired. The dentist and assistants were friendly. I had to go on a few different occasions for the cleaning and then some fillings. They were usually behind to call me back when I went there and I think every appt was about a 2 hour experience. This may be normal though I haven't had many cavities filled. After about a month of having a filling done I started experiencing alot of pain in the same tooth when chewing and it was very sensitive to hot and cold temps. I called and left a message....no return call. Things happen and maybe my message was erased, etc. I left a second message a few days later....no return call. There will not be a third call. I have went to new family dentist who was dumbfounded that they didn't call me back. While waiting at the new dentist, the patient checking out was saying that he was so happy to have found him as the last place he went to was horrible. This office made a error when billing my insurance company and over charged me by $347. I would've never known about the mistake until they sent a additional bill to my house for $224. When I went back to the office to inquire about this bill they then noticed billing error. After several phone calls, a credit was finally posted to my credit card weeks later. Normal exams and stuff is fine, but my wisdom tooth surgery has now been rescheduled by them 3 times! The date goes up, it goes down. They had it rescheduled the second time a while back, and now they want me to move it up to my vacation week. OR wait another 2 weeks! Thank goodness for staycation! But I have made plans for each surgery, bought foods, and the plans just crumble, because the date moves! VERY unhappy with the oral surgeon part. I am a graduate student in a healthcare profession so I understand the challenge of providing excellent customer service and care under constraints and with limited scope of practice...and have never experienced such TERRIBLE service as a patient. The front desk staff are uninformed, unhelpful, and unwilling to help patients. I recommend Dr. Tamimi reconsider who are at the front lines providing customer service, answering routine questions, and handling billing because his staff are mean, rude, and incompetent. I am not quick to cry at the hands of someone I don't know but I have left in tears from this practice. The more forgivable piece of information is that I was called back and the dental hygienist dissipated without telling me where she went and left me alone for 15 minutes. I recently moved to Ohio and picked Dental Works because it was close and works with my insurance. I called and they were able to get an appointment for me quickly. At the appointment, I got bad news. I needed a root canal and a couple fillings. (Not surprising to me, really) Dr Tamimi explained, using pictures and X-rays, the condition of my teeth. Then, a receptionist came and explained cost, what percentage my insurance cover for each procedure, and financing options. It wasn't an "in and out" quick check-up but I appreciated the staff explaining and answering questions. A few days later, I went in for my root canal. I've had 2 root canals before with other dentists. They were awful. The dentist and assistant did an excellent of putting me at ease and checking on me throughout the procedure. He even has a pretty good sense of humor. If you're looking for a good dentist with a great staff, I recommend this one! read more

One positive- the dentist is great. Negatives- the staff & front desk know nothing about billing & will charge you an extra bill. I came in Dec. 2019 & paid the exact copay the front desk told me would be due for my services. When I left I had a $0 balance. 3 months later they sent me a bill for $38, which they explained was a miscalculation & the money was due regardless of the fact that the staff told me I had a $0. I explained to them that due to COVID-19 I had lost my job & had no income & was waiting on unemployment. I asked them since we were in a global pandemic & I had no income at the time if they could waive the $38 since I had already paid my copay 3 months earlier & it wasn't my fault there was a miscalculation. Several staff told me no (including another staff member I talked to today). Ridiculous! I understand a bill is a bill but since it was their miscalculation I find it hard to believe that a company so huge cannot excuse a $38 bill in this specific situation as it was the front desks fault to begin with. read more

I have been a patient with Dental Works since they were located in the Eastland Mall. Cleanings only and they did a great job if this is all you need. My most recent experience involved a broken tooth, and temporary crown repair. I waited 3 weeks for the permanent crown to come from the lab and because of the bad fit was unable to install. The temporary crown was reapplied and permanent crown went back to lab. 3 weeks later they attempted again to install the permanent crown and you could tell the dental assistant was frustrated attempting to fit it. She made at least 8-10 attempts to make it fit, dropping it on floor once, throwing the dental instruments loudly back to the tray, at this point it had been shaved too much, and could not be fit. She finally decided to give my mouth a break and went to speak to Dr Tamimi. Not a good experience for me at all.............The temporary crown was reapplied once again. The dental staff is nice enough however the billing department and office manager leave something to be desired. I have been trying to get a billing issue resolved for nearly a year. Repeatedly the office manager has promised to follow through and communicate regarding the insurance and billing issue however she has NEVER returned a single phone call.
