I stopped going there and got a new dentist, who recently replaced a crown for me. It was $1300, with no requirements of any up front "contract." No difference in the quality of the work. I really wanted to like my experience here at Grandview Dental Care, but unfortunately, I will be going elsewhere for my dental services from here on out. I received a routine dental cleaning and x ray in March of this year...just to receive a bill via email in JULY of $510. I was quite upset and overwhelmed, as I was uninformed that my insurance claim did not process due to having inactive insurance at the time of my service. If I had known (granted, some things were out of my control and I should've checked my insurance policy prior) that my insurance would be inactive at the time of service, I would clearly have not gone to this office at the time, or taken my Medicaid coverage moving forward elsewhere. However, because I assumed my insurance had gone through at the time of my service, I got a routine cleaning and x rays done (which were covered within my plan). When I got the bill (which was 4 months later??), I obviously could not pay $510 for a dental bill upfront. Now, I am on a payment plan of monthly payments. I am currently on hold with Medicaid to see if they can help cover my bill, because I am in school working two part time jobs. I wish that I had known about my apparent lack of coverage at the time of my service. While I could've done my research, I was shocked to receive such a hefty bill nearly 5 months post my appointment. They had no flexibility or regard to my overwhelmed stress of a $500 bill as a student. While I understand that the services must be covered, the timing was quite awful and inconsiderate. I left Grandview Dental after being a patient there for over 10 years. As I was reading reviews for other practices in the area, I decided to read the reviews for GDC. Come to find out, other people had similar experiences and feelings. My last visit there, I left in tears because I was told yet again that another procedure was necessary. Over the years, I had countless "necessary" procedures as a patient there, and I was ultimately exhausted from them both financially and emotionally. Another reason I left was because the new dentist hit a nerve in my eye when numbing my mouth for a crown. It was so painful and tears immediately started streaming down my face. She was VERY unapologetic, and I was made to feel like I was being too sensitive. Note, this was my third crown at the practice. I highly suggest not going to this practice. They are all about the money. I am seeing many practices with much better reviews in this area. read more

Everyone at the practice is very respectful and professional, but I question the ethics of the business. At my last cleaning I was told I would need multiple crowns, one of which had to be done ASAP due to a cracked tooth. I wasn't experiencing any pain and couldn't afford the nearly $5k cost, so I went to another practice for a second opinion. There two different dentists looked over my teeth and x-rays and didn't see the need for a crown, let alone multiple. I wound up just needing a shallow cavity filled. Makes me question if the other crown Grandview Dental Care insisted I needed a year ago was really a necessity, or if I could have saved several thousand dollars by getting a second opinion. Believe the 1-star reviews on here! Grandview Dental is only in-network with ONE insurance plan--DeltaPremier--but they will do everything in their power to avoid telling you this. I discussed my insurance plan with them beforehand, they said they took it and then I received a $400 bill 2 months after a teeth cleaning. The reality is they are not in-network with my insurance--they are just willing to bill my insurance whatever rates they choose, with no obligation to offer fair pricing because the remaining balance is simply passed on to the patient. They also never bothered to reply to my concerns when I reached out to them regarding this, they just gave me more instructions on how to pay them. What a way to run a business... yikes. read more

Fancy office and AI advanced tech ($) draws you in. Their focus is on procedures ($) and need to get work done imminently despite insurance caps per annum. They suggest medication or nitric oxide ($) to help "calm you". They then recommended 3 crowns in one day. Only had 1 my entire life prior to this. The dentist was then very aggressive causing nerve injury and significant bruising for weeks with pain. The work did not need done imminently or maybe not at all and the procedure was traumatizing. Minimal response and no compensation or apology. Read the consents you quickly sign in the fancy office and seek care elsewhere. read more

What they tell you: "yep, we accept anthem insurance!" What they don't tell you: you're out of network A little misleading, no? I called and made appointments for both my husband and myself, gave all of our insurance info, and 30 seconds later had appts scheduled. After what feels like a potentially unneeded amount of dental work and $800 paid upfront at the office - which by the way after I was shocked by the cost I was told by Autumn that it could end up being less and I would be refunded - I just received a bill for ANOTHER $731. When I saw the mail I honestly thought it was a refund. My husband was charged $300+ for his annual cleaning. How, I do not know. I was charged $1500+ for fillings that cost $375 at my last dentist before I moved. And then when I called to ask why the bill was so astronomically high, they informed me that while they accept my insurance, it's technically out of network. When I asked why they didn't mention that fact when I made the appointment and they took my insurance info, they said that there *conveniently* was a note on my account that they told me it was out of network. Why would I willingly choose to go to an out-of-network office when there are so many highly rated dentists in Columbus?? I never thought a dental office would be scammy but here we are. And beware, they said that ALL but ONE insurance company (a little one I'd never heard of) are out of network. Oh and I had to go back because I was in so much pain and the bite was off. Unfortunately I've had quite a few fillings in my life from various dentists and I've never been in pain post-procedure. I simply cannot say enough good things about this dental practice! First of all, the exterior is beautiful and inviting. The parking lot is a bit small and tricky to navigate, though. The beautiful and inviting theme continues inside where you find a comfortable waiting room that feels like a living room. The entire practice is spotless, and the place looks brand new. The interior is quite large with numerous exam rooms that seem to all have windows so you don't feel all closed in. The staff are just about the friendliest I have ever met in a dental practice(or anywhere for that matter). Everyone is smiling (appropriate for a dental practice - lol). I have seen both of the dentists here at different checkups, and they both seem knowledgeable and professional. They do offer IV sedation if you need a procedure and want to be relaxed, pain free, and not remember anything. I continue to have excellent service here. Grandview Dental is extremely clean, staff are friendly and warm, and service is superb. I'm always greeted kindly by front office staff. They are considerate of customers/clients and welcome people to the practice with a smile. My cleaning was very thorough and routine. Shauna checked my teeth, cleaned them, and took X-rays. I like the ambiance of the rooms, neutral tones, extremely cleanly, TVs in every space, and today's music was very enjoyable - a little Johnny Cash for after the holidays. If you go here and have any coupon, tell them upfront on the phone when scheduling. Tell them when you arrive, tell them again with each person you speak with, and absolutely tell them again when checking out. THEN double check them to be sure they've given you the discount on your receipt AND double check your credit card!!! This was a huge problem when I took our daughter there for dental work! They're either really bad about remembering or they try to cheat you. We did get our discount for routine work, as a first time customer, but it took constant reminding! I've been going to this dentist for three years now. I've always had healthy teeth and gums, my whole life I've regularly visited the dentist. They take dental care very seriously here. My only problem is they require x-rays every two years even though that is not covered by my insurance. I felt uncomfortable when they pressure me to get xrays, unnecessary procedures IMO. It seemed like an additional layer of information they use to reduce their liability if something were to ever go wrong. They offered to cover my out of pocket cost of the xrays which I happily accepted. But I ended up getting a bill anyway and had to call during work hours to explain what happened. They agreed it was a mistake and paid the balance. I had to call back again to make sure that was true, just a lot of effort to make sure everything was handled smoothly. The staff is exceptional, friendly and welcoming. The space is inviting and clean. They offer teas, water, coffee in the waiting room. They even give me a replacement brush head for my electric tooth brush with my visit, a nice touch. I will continue to come back. I like it here, but I think they could improve by eliminating continuous xrays. read more

This is an update to my last review, which also received 1 star, because 0 stars is not an option. My experience with Grandview Dental was horrific. After the dentist filling a cavity that needed to be done "as soon as possible", I've had 3 other dentists (including his partner) say they would not have done this procedure. I had never had any dental pain or issues with this tooth or ANY tooth. I have been drilled on 8 times since December and had the cavity filled 4 separate times, which ultimately led to a root canal and crown. I have spent over $2400 so far dealing with the aftermath of a procedure that never should have been done in the first place. Grandview Dental did call to follow up on my last 1 star review and asked me to keep them updated if I were to need a root canal. I assumed that meant they would contribute to the cost of this since it was their dentists fault but they did not offer and expressly said no when I asked if they would. The manager is quite kind and apologized but also stated that the dentist responsible for this horrible service would call me on 3 separate occasions. He has never called. I strongly do not recommend this office. read more

Stacia at the front has been extremely patient with me and always willing to answer my emails. She is the absolute best. Just had a rather intensive procedure with Dr. Chitkara. You can tell he really takes pride in his work, is extremely knowledgeable, but also equally importantly, he seems to really enjoy helping people. Grandview Dental is one of the best Dental practices in Columbus, hands down. Their staff is patient, friendly, and knowledgeable - always willing to help or tell a joke. I personally love that the office is a converted house, as it feels much warmer than usual stark doctor's offices. The waiting room is filled with things like a play area for little ones, chairs & magazines as usual, and a fully stocked complimentary coffee & tea bar. The bathroom is huge & clean, and the wait time for my appointment was only a couple of minutes. I also love that I could fill out my info digitally on their iPad - made it so much easier & much quicker than the old outdated paper forms. Inside the patient area - it's very clean, modern and the technology they use to care for your teeth is top of the line. I never thought a dentist could insist upon itself, but GDC insists upon itself. Their pricing is outrageous. $280+ for a cavity. Their diagnoses are extremely aggressive, opting for fillings where many other dentists wouldn't. It seems like a cash grab, to be honest. They also very aggressively push their in-house insurance (which is a total joke, by the way) and into extra services while you're there ($30 Fluoride rinse, for example!) They also have the $69 cleaning/x-ray card they send around to the Grandview area, but that's just to get you in the door then take your money. All around very sketchy, won't be returning. Edit: Also, they have a bunch of 5 star reviews on their own website, with some review company they paid to review their own place. Awful. read more

The staff was friendly and welcoming. They gave me a $5 gift certificate just for stopping in. The equipment was amazingly clean and up to date. I loved getting to see my xrays instantly on the computer screen. There aren't many places (doctors, hospitals, etc) that do that. Even though I had to have bad news delivered to me (I need a crown :( ), the staff made me feel comfortable and eased some of my worries. As someone who actually manages a medical practice, I was in awe of the standardization and workflows in the office in terms of communication between associates, communication with the dentist, and the process of the appointment. The new patient appointment was more thorough than even I've ever had. My hygienist was kind and funny and explained all processes well. She discussion options to help w my issues that the offices performs or carries, but also things I can do at home, and how I should prioritize my issues. The dentist was great, very thorough and suggested a plan of action that I agreed with. Even check out was wonderful, getting an approximate cost and option to schedule all at once or in phases depending on my availability and finances. If you want a dentist that takes great care of you, this is it! I have been going for 5 years now for cleanings, fillings, retainers, and referrals to a Periodontist for some work. The front desk is extremely knowledgeable, friendly, quick to respond to calls, emails. They help you understand your insurance and what costs will be. Scheduling is a breeze. Automated appointment reminders, never miss an appointment! The office is always clean, professional and there are great magazines, a Keurig, and a kids play area. But you won't wait long! The hygienists are always really nice and knowledgeable. The cleanings are always as enjoyably as cleanings can possibly be. The hygienists talk to each other and font desk on head sets and this really helps to speed up everything. I've never been left in the chair waiting - in and out! They dentists all seem great and explain things clearly. One time I was coordinating work between a dentist and periodontist and I was confused, they invited me in for a free appointment with the Dentist to take a look and explain things better. I asked for nitrous and the hygienist asked which part of the procedure made me nervous. She said her mission that day was to change my mind about the dental experience, and she did. She was a great listener and communicator. She explained everything that was going to happen including how it would feel. The dentist was quick and gentle. We are new to Columbus and I hadn't been to the dentist in awhile, so I was a little nervous going in. The new patient process was super easy! I filled out all my paperwork online, then when I got to my appointment they have everyone wait in their cars and text in your last name to the number provided on the sign behind the building. Once they are ready they send you a text and they check your temperature give you some hand sanitizer and off you go. The staff were very polite and very thorough with my teeth since it had been awhile, but I really appreciated their attention to detail. Afterwards I got a goodie back to go home with, toothbrush, toothpaste, floss, etc. I even checked in through Yelp and they hooked me up with a gift card!
