Absolutely horrendous service. They attempt to bill you for everything and diagnose you for things you don't have. I came to my appointment, got X-rays done. Dr. Dietz came in and sarcastically told me I needed a root canal. He immediately sends someone in from billing for scheduling. This woman, who didn't even look at my mouth, checked the calendar for a root canal appointment then proceeded to tell me I had "gingivitis"and attempted to put me on a treatment plan that also entailed a "$450 deep cleaning." This didn't seem right to me, so I held off on scheduling completely. A week later I go to another, REPUTABLE, dentist in the Memphis area for a second opinion, who did confirm the need for a root canal, but said I had not one symptom of gingivitis or "receding gums" that the "billing specialist" claimed I had. No treatment plan was necessary. DentalWorks will make up random issues to tack on to the bill. BEWARE. Also - I've received NUMEROUS letters in the mail about scheduling a new appointment as I'm "overdue for a checkup". I've called the main office several times to cancel this mail, they claimed they did back in January but I've received about 2 a month since then. They will NOT leave me alone. read more

If I could give 0/5 stars I would. If you take the time to review other former patients and google reviews they all mostly mirror my experience. Going in I scheduled for a cleaning, what I got instead was a series of bitewings (scans around the mouth for each tooth and root) and the dentist to come in and check my mouth. What typically happens is, they do the scans and the dentist independently views the teeth and identifies carries and other problems. Instead the dentist came in, and spent all of two minutes in the room. I told him about a tooth that is painful, he gaslighted me and told me it is not a problem. The hygienist then comes in and tells me I can schedule a cleaning, but wants me to do a "deep clean" for $450 give or take. Mind you I get cleanings every 6 months and regularly receive dental care. So instead of the cleaning I scheduled I get this shotty hit and run appointment that ultimately serves no point but to waste an hour and a half of my life. Not like it's surprising but the appointment was also 30 minutes late despite being the second person in the office. Icing on the cake, I also received a bill for $100 bucks or so for what I don't know what. Yes the office looks dirty, the bathroom was gross, the staff are rude and unhelpful, the quality of the dentist is probably also questionable considering everything else. I would strong encourage you to avoid this place like the plague. read more

Asked for an estimate for dental work in August 2022. Got 1st bill in March 2023 that showed more than 90 days late. Didn't understand what it was for. Called office and was told that the office manager, Michele, would call me back...still waiting on her call. Office was dingy, dirty, & didn't follow clean COVID-19 protocols. Saw slip covers in the treatment room; had to ask that they be put on the ragged, broken-handle chair that I was told to sit in. Heard next-door patient complaining about recently dental work. I have been going to this office for 15+ years and I've never had a bad experience. Hope and Dr. Dietz are the only people I allow to perform dental work. Very unprofessional staff my Husband went there due to nerve damage in his front tooth he was very upset when he left stating that the team joked about his situation and was not attentive or empathetic he also stated that as he was leaving the assistant stayed at least we have to wear mask nobody will see your teeth and laughed. Any situation dealing with a person smile is a very delicate situation. I have been going here for years and it appears they have made some staffing changes. I was disputing a bill and the receptionist Michelle was rude and unprofessional. She argued with me and the manager Chekella never came out to resolve the issue or address Michelle instead she asked that I leave my number and she called me the next evening. My experience with Dental Works on Park has been similar to the two other experiences. My dental insurance at my job changed and I had to seek a new dentist. I scheduled a cleaning with DentalWorks. After poking around for a couple of minutes, I was told that I would need a deep cleaning. I was informed by the office manager Holly who was standing over me while I was reclined that they would not be able to perform a "deep cleaning" today and I would need to make another appointment. I did not understand and was asking questions, Holly became rude. She also gave me a document that stated that my insurance would pay for $275 of procedure and my part would be $392 (that was after I took off the $98 that was strongly recommended for a toothbrush). I wanted to do what was best for me and made the next appointment. When checking in, I was told that I would have to pay upfront for services, which I did-$392. I received the deep cleaning procedure and was made another appointment as part of the follow up in 6 weeks. I arrived at the office for follow up. I checked in to hear a gentleman at the desk disputing his bill. He and the receptionist went back and forth over claims that had or had not been paid and he left. The two receptionists continued to talk about this customer in front of other customers in the waiting area after he had left. On the day of my 6 week follow up, I also received a bill in the mail stating that I owed an additional $124.50 that my insurance did not pay. I called DentalWorks to inquire and was told that they could not discuss with me, that I would have to call my insurance. Does this experience sound familiar to the other experiences? My advice is "RUN, RUN FAR AWAY-BEWARE OF THIS OFFICE-THEY ARE RUDE AND ARE DISHONEST". read more

When I schedule my appointment, it was to see if I could get a chipped tooth fixed. I had a full mouth x-ray done. The dentist told me I would only need a fill and they could do it that day. When the assistant came in the room I asked if I could get a cleaning today as well. She told me she had to get with the hygienist. 30 minutes later the hygienist comes in and pokes in my mouth a total of 4 times, one for each quadrant. She proceeds to tell me that I have periodontal disease and I can't get a regular cleaning done. Then they tell me that I can't get my tooth filled that they had just told me they could do. I was presented with a treatment plan for deep scaling, an expensive toothbrush as well. That day I called the Dental Works on Austin Peay, I was able to come in and get a thorough examination of my gums to confirm if I actually needed deep scaling done. I was told that I don't have periodontal disease. I only have a mild case of gingivitis that could be prevented with flossing more. I was also able to get my teeth cleaned that day. I was able to schedule to get my chipped tooth filled as well. I am highly disappointed because I thought that health care professionals should have your best interest at heart. read more

I having being going to this location for years and prior to this I went to the Austin Peay location for years. The staff is usually friendly but the past couple of years their admin. staff has been rude and unprofessional whenever you question the billing, they get angry. I went there last week because my crown came out. Yesterday they put it back in and yesterday it came out again. Yesterday I was quoted $1300 for a bridge and again today I was quoted $1300 for a bridge which 2 of the teeth included in the bridge I just got a crown for them last year so I don't understand why the staff is so rude and didn't want to listen to my question about me paying full price again for 2 crowns that I just got from Dr. Dietz last year. One receptionist starts drawing a picture like I'm stupid. Her picture wasn't going to explain me paying twice for crowns I needed some kind of discount but she was listening to my question and was just rude. Upon speaking with Dr. Dietz I was quoted $832 when it came time to pay I was told by a 2nd receptionist that I owed $2000 so of course my question now is how do we go from $1300 to $800 and now $2000 and instantly this receptionist gets angry and tries to tell me that I was only provided an estimate and that she told me yesterday it could end up being more or less. I tell her that's a big difference she finally looks in the computer and then tells me that I used up all my benefits earlier this year when they did a root canal and treatment so now my question is why didn't you check my benefits before quoting me the first time $1300 and now the receptionist is outrageously rude and saying that I don't listen and again it's just an estimate and she didn't give me the quote. So not only is she rude and unprofessional she is a liar. Dr. Dietz is great, his assistant is great but the admin/receptionist are terribly rude and unprofessional whenever you have questions about the bill/quote. read more
