I never got the feeling the dentist even cared about my teeth. For months, I tried to get explanation of a bill. Our policy, DentalWorks supposedly accepts our insurance, but ins. co. told us we were OVERCHARGED after receiving a DentalWorks bill nearly a YEAR AFTER SERVICE. THREE letters to York office and Ohio billing center, approx. 7 calls, even the offer of our insurance company to do a live conference call were all rejected and/or ignored. The office staff seemed nice, but no one there would call back or refer me to anyone who could help. The best I got after leaving messages was "We'll get back to you." I assume the billing center is local and bills are sent from headquarters in Cincinnati. The kicker is now a year and a half later, we get a letter begging us to return. Sorry; your bridge is burned. See other reviews; guess you choose your poison. Never again for us. read more

When the dentist doesn't even bother to take his AirPods out then I think that kinda speaks for its self. Had a filling done and went back after about two months to have it looked at and was told the root should die off soon and I wouldn't be able to feel it anyways. Do not waste your time. read more

I would say that this is possibly the worst dentist I've ever visited in my life. The office staff is unprofessional. I would specifically like to highlight the behavior of the office manager, Kaitlyn. In my opinion, she is not fit for her position. I was charged $15 four times for a service that was not covered under insurance. There was no way for to me go back and undo the cleaning. I made it abrasively clear from the first appointment that I only wanted to services that were covered under my insurance. I followed up with Kaitlyn and I told her about the issue, but she refused to sensibly refund me for the measly $70. I cannot understand why someone would be willing to lose a patient over such simple circumstances. I hope that this honest review encourages the office staff to improve themselves. Dental Works in York, SC is a terrible place to go for a root canal. My first appointment was July 2, 2019 and its still not over because my crown keeps coming back from their lab wrong. It does not fit properly. I will be going back November 4, 2019 again for the third time on this crown to see if it fits. I really doubt it will. This is so crazy to have to keep coming back. I am so done with this place. If it does not fit this time I want a full refund of my money. I will find a dentist office that can fix it right. Warning-stay away from Dental Works! read more

I needed 2 crowns for failing teeth. My first crown from their lab wasn't right so I had to have it redone. Went to have the second crown put on and the dentist seemed so rushed he tried to do it without the numbing shot but I was like "Oh hell no" so he did the shot and hurriedly did the crown. It just didn't seem right when I got in my car to come home and when I looked at it in the mirror my mouth was full of blood (I had no idea because my mouth was numb) and I realized my tongue had been cut by the instrument the dentist used to grind down the crown. The crown wasn't fitting right either so I went back in and told them what was wrong. The dentist avoided looking at me and then he said "you probably bit your tongue" (I didn't) then he admitted that he may have hit it with the drill or whatever he was using. He never said he was sorry, he just wrote me a Rx for pain reliever for when the numbing wore off. (This is the day before Thanksgiving btw) I have crappy dental insurance so this was the only place I could go. I also had him work on the crown so it fit better. Everyone at this office is so nice. The receptionists and dental hygienists are great! So if all you need are cleanings and routine exams(which is all I needed up until this point) this is a wonderful place to go. Very clean, friendly, and professional. But if you need something beyond that, better to go somewhere else. Hoping my tongue heals fast as I update my dental insurance through my employer. read more

My husband was told he had "several small cavities" and 6 months ago he had "none" at the previous dentist. He went elsewhere for 2nd opinion and was told he had no cavities. The office staff is friendly however we won't go to a dentist we can't trust. read more

Absolute worst dental office I have been to! Poor professionalism! While in the office getting an extraction the hygienist was to make me an appointment to have my teeth cleaned and X-rays for two weeks later. The next two weeks I called the office only to find that an appointment wasn't made for me! So I made a new appointment. The day of the appointment I arrived to find that the hygienist had "taken" the day off due to her other two appointments cancelling! I was not notified in any way or form. Had to drive 45 minutes and step foot in the office to be told my appointment couldn't be done due to the hygienist leaving for the day. At 11 am might I add! Will not waste my time ever again to set an appointment with these people! These people are not professional what so ever! read more

The worse experience that my husband and I have ever had at a dentist office. The dentist wouldn't allow the hygenist to clean my husband's teeth because he wouldn't agree to do the 'deep' cleaning which cost $200 more. When i arrived and asked the price for cleaning and x-rays they said it would cost $213, when we checked out the receptionist said i owed $310 for just 'very' simple cleaning and x-rays.We will NEVER go there again!!!!! read more

I took my wife to this location today to get her wisdom teeth taken out. The first one want as planed. While attempting extraction on the second one, she was in extreme pain. She told the dentist that she was in pain and he decided to tell her that if she couldn't take it, he would stop and she could go somewhere else. She cried through the second tooth. Instead of taking the third one out, the dentist left and told her to go see an ortho surgeon. read more

Very clean office, friendly front staff and many available appointment times. My family receives services here and we have never had a problem that they couldn't fix. Dental cleanings are thorough and the wait time is very minimal; quick in and out! Any treatments that need to be done are always started on time and performed confidently by Dr. Sheftall. Dr. Sheftall and his staff are all super friendly, down to earth folks who appreciate their clients. We are very happy with the services here and recommend them often. I went to this location last week and had a wisdom tooth extraction that was a simple extraction that my insurance covers 100% but they put down the code on my receipt for a surgical extraction in which I did not have and also added xray charges and a 1st film charge in which they didn't perform because they had the other branch send my xrays over before I got there. when I went into this location on old York road I went in,i received 2 shots in my mouth, and the dentist pulled my wisdom tooth out and I was done. After I got home and called them and told them about all of the false information they put on the insurance claim and charged me for that I had signed to sheet and payment so I agreed, but how in the hell am I suppose to know the dental codes that they put on the claims. I had to call metlife and see what the codes meant to find out and they asked me the procedure and what all did I receive at that location and I told them and they said that is insurance fraud and I asked for a reimbursement and the manager said since I signed my receipt that I agreed that it was surgical.but how can I agree to dental code D7210 who walks in and knows dental codes.i will never in my life go to this location ever again, I am reporting them to the better business bureau and also metlife is doing an investigation..i don't play about my money and right is right and wrong is wrong. read more
