Number one that I was sitting closest to the lady behind the glass, decided that she was going to close and go to lunch without even calling another number or saying she was going to lunch so my number was going to be kicked out and I would have to get another number, but I made my way to her window and I told her that my number was up next and I need it to be assisted. Well she put the window back up she assisted me it took all of 20 minutes to get it taken care of, and she was off to lunch, I don't think she appreciated the fact that I stopped her from going to her lunch but I did apologize after all there was a lot of us there and I'm sure a lot of us were hungry and ready to go to lunch as well. We left and went to a safe location leaving all personal possessions behind. We later filed a report with an officer investigating Jessie's side of the story and were told we'd be followed up with. Nobody has interviewed my 11 year old to determine if charges should be filed, no one from precinct 5 has reached back out. We called the DAs office and were told that investigation needed to be done, to contact the precinct. We've done that with no success. This department is a failure to the community it is supposed to serve and I'm ashamed that I moved from Houston Tx to this.

My rental house got flooded. Tenant stopped the water leak and disappeared without providing any…read moreinfo. Insurance company wanted to know what caused the leak. Plumber and appliance technician did not find any technical issues. However, the technician said that a human intentionally started the water leak. After examining washing machine and utility room where the washing machine was located he stated that some person intentionally loosened connection of cold water hose to the washing machine and blocked a floor drain in the utility room. All these findings clearly indicated that the crime had been committed. Many times I filed reports with Denver Police. Every time they simply ignored my reports. Finally, months later they issued temporary case number and then permanent case number 2025-6016468. Detective Bret Curtis (?) called me. It was clear from the beginning of conversation that he had zero intentions to investigate. For instance, he stated that it was impossible to investigate because there was no video showing crime in progress. (Does Denver Police investigate murders only if videos of murders are present?) He kept saying that I needed to take my tenant to Civil Court. On what grounds? Do I know that my tenant committed this crime? No. This is why investigation was needed, to establish who committed the crime. The crime was committed and I wanted Denver Police to investigate it. Just like an arson, an intentional flooding is a crime intended to destroy property. The facts clearly indicate that Denver Police does not care about crimes like this. What kind of police is this? Do we live in a third world country?

I have paid premiums on him for the months of January and February of 2024. I have been contacting PERA since the beginning of January regarding my husband's insurance. We received my insurance card but had not received his. We both have contacted PERA regarding his insurance and cards. We go from person to person and department to department. All departments offer promises, but no action has been taken. I just found out from the insurance department that his policy was de-activated, but yet I have paid premiums. My husband has been cutting his insulin for the past month since we can't receive his insulin from our insurance or afford the out-of-pocket cost due to denial from Colorado PERA Insurance. This company shows no compassion for my issues at hand. Therefore, if you determine that you have an issue with your health insurance from PERA don't expect any resolution, but you will receive many promises. I have filed this with DORA to find out that DORA does not regulate Colorado PERA Insurance. If you run into any situations with PERA's Insurance, you need to contact the Colorado General Assembly. I hope that the insulin issues do not become legal issues. Best of Luck.

I don't have an issue with parking ordinances as a whole. There are valid reasons for them. I DO…read morehave a problem when parking ordinances are selectively and inaccurately enforced, and when there isn't a sensible way to resolve a dispute for a ticket that was clearly written in error. I recently received a ticket for parking too long in a 2 hour zone. Problem: I was clearly parked in a short but well marked "all day" zone on an otherwise 2 hour street, and took pics to prove it. When my written dispute was rejected, I went to the magistrate and learned that your pictures count for little if Google street view can't corroborate your pictures for the magistrate. Is the sign that proves your point is blurry or out of the Google street view frame? Tough luck. The "selective" enforcement issue tends to arise for tickets around distances from markers, e.g. no parking within 20 feet of a crosswalk, or 18 inches of the curb, etc. Enforce it by the book, or don't enforce it...but enforcing the rule 10% of the time, as in my neighborhood, just pisses people off who've parked 6ft away from crosswalks for months with no ticket, and suddenly get their wrist slapped. Don't bother disputing. The law is clear, but enforcement isn't. Two stars instead of one because my magistrate wasn't outright rude, and the wait was short. And though it should have been waived since it was invalid to begin with, I did get my ticket reduced. Really, City of Denver, do you want 99% of your populace to feel wrath at your parking division? A little training and encouragement to use common sense would go a long way. I wonder if any major US cities have parking enforcement bureaus with positive Yelp ratings?

My reactions were not 'on' one morning (7A... shift-change time for the police) and I caught the 'edge' shall we say of a red light. Of course a squad was there (I KNOW this... they're ALways there) and I got absolutely no empathy when the male cop who pulled me over. Okay, I ran a red light. I have a CLEAN license. There was nobody at this intersection for 3 more minutes. Get off with a warning?...Um, NO. But here's my point: He said he appreciated my explanation, but I should have been slowing down from the time I was coming down the ramp and saw the YELLOW light. That's really interesting. I've been (now) timing this light. The yellow light stays yellow for THREE SECONDS. The one closer to Coors Field (next one going East) stays yellow for over SIX SECONDS. So.. just sayin'... I now know why I see so many people pulled over (only) West-bound on Park Ave immediately after this light. It's a money-maker. That's ALL it is. How can one go from 35mph (which is the posted speed limit) to 0mph in 3 seconds?
