In the walls there are a series of interesting names, and Latin mottos on two opposite sides that describe labor and rest. Definitely an epic courthouse to see in Denver!

Walked over after tour of the Denver Mint (parked at the Justice Center Garage on West 14th where…read moreprices were very reasonable). Great location for the garage as the Capitol Building also was within walking distance). In the lobby, I was delighted to see a large display of items cleverly hanging on the wall that led up 4 floors. There were ordinary things such as office chairs in a circle, handsaws, clipboards, construction hats, pitchforks, one way signs and on and on. The art could be seen up close by accessing the elevators or stairs. The artist is Donald Lipski that makes works for public buildings among other things. The staff at the Information Desk were helpful and nice. I asked an office worker for a place to eat near by and she recommended Z!Eat (formerly Zoup!). Tasty food. The atmosphere in the whole building was quiet and clean despite all the offices. I love quirky art so seeing this wall was a wonderful surprise for me.

The Webb building stands in the middle of a very busy courthouse, and a child day care center. One of the tallest buildings in Denver, beating the Republic Plaza at 714 ft. Wellington Webb was one of our first mayor of Denver, back in 1991. The double W building, is the place to come if you're trying to get licensing on for city jobs such as airport/hospital security. Most doors have card readers on them, so don't panic, and locate the very front entrance that is open for the public. HSS guards are posted in the front with a metal detector screening incoming visitors. The lobby in itself is very geometric with conservative art, representing the image of a government municipal building. There is a built in Subway cafe, with plenty of seating and a spacious lobby.

Looks great! The SACFD are located next to a shopping center with a police station less than a block away. A couple years ago, we got the opportunity to take our little ones from the daycare on a field trip to station 8! Annndd not surprisingly, they were great with the kiddoes!! The entire team were super inspiring to the mini audience and showed compassion, and a welcoming environment. I felt that the visit was so educational, that even I picked up some new things. Art for the sake of art…read more At first glance, it looks like a group of large marble and granite figures, but on closer inspection it is a group of two judges, one female and one male, and four children. Seated outside the Carr Center, the two groups look like they are engaged in an intimate conversation. Nice to be able to walk by the Colorado Yule marble and green granite figures of "Justice for All" that were created by Madeline Wiener, a New York-born, Denver-based sculptor with an international following. Inspired by the warmth of real judges, Wiener tried to create a friendly space for children and their families to be welcome. The statues of the children look so innocent as they try to ingest the wisdom of the justices. Kids can climb or sit on the statues. For their parents, it is a great photo op. Although, I did not enter the actual courthouse, I know that there is more artwork inside as well. Walking through downtown Denver, there is so much public art. This is due to a state law that manadates 1 percent of public building costs be dedicated to the acquisition of art which gave the construction of the Carr Center an art budget of just over $1.7 million. So nice to be able to take a walk and just enjoy art for the sake of art.

Now there are such exciting events happening in the neighborhood, I feel like a kid again, going on adventure. The refurbished venue is great. I have been here before for the Denver Bazaar. This time to attend the Spring Flea. Attendees support local business and there is such a wonderful and unique variety to look at and buy. One can find just about anything for your gift giving list. Craft Boner has some fun gifting options and Evye K had some cute creations! Its easy to get here by Lyft or Rail. I drove and had to park about 4 blocks out but the walk thru the neighborhood is worth it!

It's a conglomeration of old historical buildings and warehouses from the 1920's with new construction. The old machine shop is very industrial feeling with old sliding doors, even the old aisle numbers are still on the wooden support posts. This was the perfect place to hold a beer festival. Plenty of room to move around, enough outside space to accommodate port-o-lets and food trucks, they even contracted a rocking band, Kerry Pastine and The Crime Scene, to play during the festival. I recently shipped 7 boxes of candy to Operation Gratitude, which distributes the candy to deployed troops. He and his employee offered to help me package and tape them up. I have used them for years, but I don't live near them. When there is an issue I need to take care of it is much easier to call, but lately I have needed to drive there to speak with someone. They mentioned the station was originally a "temporary" station but it's still in operation 50 years later.
