They have something for every biker, no matter what skill level you are. This event is definitely family friendly. In the beginning years, I would ride the longer 50+ mile routes. Now, they have shortened the options down to 16, 25 or 32 miles that day. With multiple routes to choose from you can't go wrong! It's a beautiful experience to view the city and see how all the paths connect. Minneapolis/St. Paul have hundreds of miles of paved paths, so this ride can show you how to navigate them, rather than be intimidated. There is great signage to know which ways to turn to stay on course. The helpful rest stops supply delicious food and often music/entertainment along the way. The best part is the finish line! Here, you can get your free beer, visit the vender village and listen to a live band as you sit with fellow cyclists feeling proud of yourself!

We spent an unforgettable 10 days hiking the (express!) Inca trail to Machu Picchu and visiting Lima, The Sacred Valley, Aguas Calientes and Cusco. I could write 10 pages about how much we loved traveling with Knowmad so I'll try to stick to the highlights. My husband and I usually handle all of our own travel planning, but when we came across Knowmad while researching how to visit Machu Picchu we realized we would probably get a lot more out of a trip to Peru traveling with specialists from the country. Our travel specialists Renee and Shannon found a way for us to do everything we wanted to do (and so much more!) while staying within our budget. Once we met up with our Knowmad guide, Fernando, in Cusco every day of our trip was amazing and we learned so much about the Inca culture and the Andes while having a ton of fun and going at our own pace. By the time we made it to Machu Picchu it was so much more meaningful because we had an understanding of what makes it such a special and mystical site. Scheduling can be a challenge now - it was pretty wide open when they opened back for live factory tours post Covid a couple months ago. My group had several special needs folks with us and the tour guide did a phenomenal job keeping them engaged, staying with the group, and showing them around. Parking is super easy and plentiful. Tour guide will answer any questions - though he'll say I don't know, or I am not allowed to answer that. It's a free tour, and the operations are fascinating. They also accommodate for wheelchair among other disabilities. Now whether or not Amazon treats their employees and runs their businesses is a separate matter...but for specifically the tour itself - 5 stars! What a comprehensive system they've set up. I got a Amazon factory tours branded bag as swag. No pictures allowed inside the warehouse proper unfortunately.
