A pretty good, if typical mall. It's two stories with a classic mall feel. Not upscale and not run down, it's the perfect stereotype of a mall. It has most of the staples any good mall should have (Bath & Body Works, Disney Store, Hot Topic, Victoria's Secret, Macy's etc) and a pretty large food court. My main complaint would be the lack of much individuality. There aren't many unique or unusual stores to be found. It's lacking that undiscovered gem that really can set a mall out from the crowd. But it's a safe and solid bet if you're looking for a decently sized mall to spend your Saturday. read more

First, the food court needs to be better. The pizza place only accepts cash. My kids wanted pizza but had to settle for Burger King. Meh. There are only a handful of places to eat. Second, parents weren't watching their children inside of the little playground area. It is so small. Obviously an afterthought. This should be relocated to a larger area away from the food. There were kids eating and playing. Food was on the floor. Third, I was pleased to see new stores up and running. I just moved back to the area and love Torrid and Charming Charlie. I'll definitely be back even if it is to hit those two stores. Torrids prices are higher than other stores but made to last. Charming Charlie has a lot of jewelry I love. I can't wait to go back. Fourth, what's with the family restroom? A few more need to be created because I changed my one son in the hallway because of how long the line was. Insane. Overall, I know I'll be back. I can't shake the feeling that the old shopping mall trend is on its way out. Discount department store chains like Ross Dress For Less, Marshall's, TJ Maxx and Burlington Coat Factory might just be taking over. They are so much easier to navigate and you simply cannot beat their prices. This really is a decent mall with a really nice food court, but it felt so empty. This is my go-to mall. For a person living in this area, our choice is here, Echelon, or Cherry Hill. Echelon is too desolate - most of the stores have closed. Cherry Hill is too big and caters more to expensive taste. If you spend more than a hundred dollars on a single article of clothing, then head to Cherry Hill. Deptford is for regular folk. The food court includes Cinnabon, Kohr Brothers soft serve in like three flavors, Burger King, Chinese, run of the mill lackluster try to be healthy place, baked goods place, candy store with gross gelato, pizza place, Spanish place, and Chikfila. A Starbucks opened this week there as well. It's extremely out of place! Two restaurants attached are Ruby Tuesday and the new Red Robin. Department stores are Sears, Macy's, and JC Penny. What I love is that Macy's has a MAC counter - huge plus. Stores include PacSun, Victoria's Secret, Teavanna, a few jewelry stores like Kay or Litman, Buildabear, American Eagle, Modell's, Dehlia's, DEB, Yankee Candle, Bath & Body Works, Shoe Department, salon, Glamour Shots, Forever 21, Charlie's Closet, etc. Go on a week day morning for the best shopping experience. Weekend days or week nights means moms with eight kids each. Weekend nights means bratty teenagers. read more

This mall has gotten so much better in the last few years. Higher end stores like White House Black Market, Coach, and Sephora have come in. It's small enough it's not overwhelming but large enough to have mostly what you're looking for. I like the Starbucks kiosk when I need a mid shop pick me up. read more

Once upon a time the Deptford Mall was a destination. We had some time to kill today so we took the children here. My wife and I decided it was nearly a decade since we were here. We just do not shop at malls any longer. We walked around. The mall is undergoing renovations so some of it is torn up presently. The center staircase is currently unavailable. There is what appears to be the same smattering of stores collected together to lure shoppers. I can honestly say there was nothing that grabbed my attention. The one change I saw was that Strawbridge was replaced by Boscov's. If you like malls, there are stores to shop at. Other than that, there's not anything here to draw me in. read more

This is what I consider my "lazy mall." Lazy meaning I am too lazy to drive too far but I do not want to go to a city mall, so I cross the bridge to the most laid back suburban mall I can find...the Deptford Mall. I don't frequent this as much as when I was a teenager, but occasionally I stop by to eat at the food court when I am waiting on my next assignment or something. Deptford Mall is NOT bad at all and is pretty nice if you like a not so big mall. It has 4 anchor stores (Boscov's, Macy's, JCPenny, and Sears) and they have the usual stores like America Eagle, Hollister, Disney Store, Game Stop, and so on. They just added escalators at the Sears court and Boscov's court as well as a glass elevator in the center court. The mall always has a nice crowd during the week but it's not hectic. Weekends are usually always crowded with people so you may not want to go then. The food court is pretty nice with Chick-Fil-A, Burger King, Subway, 3 Chinese/Japanese places, A&W Root Beer, Philly Cheesesteaks, Tacos, Pizza, and Salad. The mall always looks clean and tidy because janitors are always walking around. There is also a train ride that drives kids around the downstairs from Macy's to JCPenny. So if you're looking for a nice mall with not that much walking, I would recommended Deptford Mall. There are also some pretty nice stores outside as well like Best Buy, Target, Walmart, Lowe's, and Barnes and Noble just to name a few! read more

I'm a mall rat from waaaaay back. Grew up in malls, met my friends (and girlfriends) in malls, and basically lived in NJ's malls for all of the 80s and 90s. So many memories... That being said, Deptford mall is basically the "old faithful" of NJ's malls. Though its owned by the same company that owns the god awful Cumberland Mall (Preit), it seems to have avoided the downward spiral that basically every mall in the state has fallen into. While Cumberland tries desperately to rebuild, Hamilton decays into mediocrity, Cherry Hill loses its uniqueness and the shore mall in Pleasantville fades away into the sunset...little Deptford mall has stayed firm and consistently improved over the years. An arcade, an excellent food court (Pizza sucks though, hamilton mall Cosimos this is not) and a really clean atmosphere make this my go-to mall right now. Me and the missus come here to eat sometimes since she has developed an addiction to the japanese food they sell in the food court. Claims it is the most authentic she's had. The bad side is the mall tends to be crowded. Not Cherry Hill mall crowded but definitely crowded. Even at night near closing the place is still hopping with people. I guess it's to be expected. Clean, safe, thug free. Really love the environment. Great mall to take the kids or grab something to eat and do some window shopping on a sunday. read more

This mall is close to home so I go there if I'm in a rush. I will definitely travel to the Cherry Hill Mall if time allows me to. The stores they do have that I enjoy don't carry a large range of clothing like the Cherry hill mall does. This mall is convenient to my location and nothing more. I do notice the changes they are slowly making and that does excite me:) read more

Deptford Mall used to be really great a few years ago. Now, all the stores are the same. Everything is Hollister, Abercrombie and Fitch, Aeropostale and other things of that nature. How many "snobby, size zero teenager" clothing stores does one mall really need? The mall crowd is a sea of teenagers. They rule the whole place. So I guess the mall is trying to cater to them, but there isn't much available for folks outside of that demographic. The food court is decent, lots to choose from but good luck finding seating. Jalapeno's is a mexican food joint there, the people working there are always super nice and the food is outstanding. Otherwise, there is a Chick Fil A, two asian cuisine places, Auntie Anne's, Kohr Bros, A&W, a pizza place, Friendly's, Subway, and a few other choices. I don't visit the mall much anymore, there simply isn't enough there to interest me. Also, the train that rides around in the middle of the mall is super annoying and needs to be disposed of ASAP. read more

My main reason for writing this comment is to state that the Deptford Mall is NOT in Woodbury. It's called the DEPTFORD Mall because it's in Deptford, NJ! Deptford existed before Woodbury ever did and I'm tired of Deptford stores, other businesses, and even residential housing so often being listed as being located in Woodbury when they're not. Deptford is it's own township. If Woodbury wants to lay claim to a mall then they can build one of their own. .....Go Deptford!! As for our mall, it's a great place to shop, eat, visit, and enjoy some time with the family. It's not as glitzy as some other malls, but stop in and you'll have a good time taking in the ambiance of the collected stores and your fellow shoppers. read more

I like this mall and have shopped there for years. But now I have few complaints. I go there with a certain store or restaurant in mind and it will be gone with no explanation or sign to apologize for the inconvenience. There's no forewarning of a store or restaurant closing up. The latest was walking past the Friendly's location to see it boarded up. I thought maybe they were just remodeling. A few weeks later, I was walking there to get a Friend-Z for my daughter and it's now a Spa. Just like that! Out of the blue! A restaurant that I had gone to since my teen years was vanished like it was never ever there. Even if it was replaced by another restaurant it would have felt a little better. A little heads up that they are going to leave the mall or some kind of sign to say sorry they went out of business or something. It just feels disappointing and then nothing is said about it. Also, the Candy Shop moved without a sign to tell you that. One day I went to the mall to get candy from that shop. I walked up and found it boarded up. So, I left the mall. A few weeks later, there it was by the food court. They couldn't post a courtesy sign telling their customers where they moved to? YEARS ago there was a CVS. That was convenient to get some health and beauty product and paper/pens. Stuff like that. It was gone and I still miss having a shop like that inside a mall. I agree with the above statements that the teens of hang out there. They horse play and or stand in large groups making you push a stroller around their gang. If there was a way to designate one section of the mall that attracted teens and maybe they would hang out in just one section. One other issue. I know that this may be the problem of each individual store, but I'm tired of the stores harassing me at checkout time about credit card offers and sales to buy things I don't want. Yes, I know it's buy two and get one free, but I don't want three I want one. Yes, I know about your discounts for a credit card, but I also know about annual fees, interest rates and credit card debt. So, please take a polite "no" for an answer. I have been condescended at the counter when I tell them "no" like I'm some dumb !@##$$ that doesn't know about savings. Just post a sign! Also, the vendors in the middle of the mall approach you about their products. They need to just let customers walk up to them. I don't want sales people walking up to me about their products I have no desire to buy. I do like the train for my daughter and the carousel. She loves all of that. I wish I could give this mall a better review because I used to love this place as a teen, but this place just seems to be on a slight downward slope recently. Although attempts have been made to make the mall more exciting by adding new things and new stores, it doesn't seem like those are maintained by mall management. For example, the playground they added for little kids upstairs is always unsupervised and not usually safe for babies and toddlers. There is a sign at the entrance that shows the height limit for kids playing there, but there is always at least one or two kids there that are way too big and run around and I have seen smaller kids get ran into at full speed, and plenty of close encounters as well. And what do the parents always seem to be doing when this happens? LOOKING AT THEIR PHONE. My fiancé talked to management about this problem and even explained that they could get into possible legal trouble over kids getting hurt, but all they did was take down his name and number, so you know that's going nowhere. There's also the issue of kiddie rides there being broken or not working the way they're supposed to because grown teens and adults like to sit in them. There seems to always be an escalator broken nowadays, and the security here doesn't seem to crack down on obnoxious and disruptive people anymore. read more

Nothing crazy special about this mall but it has a lot more variety and stores than the other malls in the area such as Cherry Hill and Moorestown malls. Also the food court had a lot of choices but it didn't look like it had enough seating. Check out the little gelato stand they have in one of the candy stores located at the end of the food court, it was amazing. read more

If you want a boring, generic mall, The Deptford Mall is the place to go. It used to be a lot better, but they have gradually closed the stores I liked and replaced them with yuppie stores for people who think they have money. For example, they have a Coach store and a bunch of jewelry stores. They also got rid of the fountains years ago, which added character. They have also recently opened a Starbucks in the center which is a disaster for foot traffic. They are slowly getting too fancy and unappealing. I foresee them closing eventually due to lack of variety, just like Echelon Mall, which also used to be great. read more
