Willow Grove for me is complicated. I can't exactly tell you where it's supposed to fall in the…read morePhiladelphia metro area mall hierarchy. It's only a half hour from King of Prussia, which does not help. There is a large amount of parking, but on a busy day you might have to walk a little bit further. The mall is three stories and anchored by Macy's and Bloomingdale's, along with various other stores in two re-developed anchors. The interior is very nice and clean. The available stores, for being in what is considered an upper tier mall, are just ok with a lot of stores you can find in most other malls. There's also more vacancies, local stores, and temporary stores then you would expect, to the point they would add up to about a whole floor. Tilted 10 as an arcade is just ok, but not as impressive as a Round1, with both being expensive. Primark's not bad as a clothing option. Willow Grove does have an outstanding food court that was very busy during my visit. You basically couldn't get near Chick-fil-A with the line they had. They also have The Cheesecake Factory in one of the re-developed anchors. If this mall were in another place, like Harrisburg, it would be an outstanding regional mall that would attract shoppers from hours away. Can I tell you that Willow Grove with worth going out of your way for a visit? Not really, not right now at least.

This mall used to be busy, busy, busy, filled with shoppers and people everywhere. Now, there are still some people, but it isn't like it used to be thanks to online shopping. You can still get some good people watching in during peak seasons, though. The food court has some decent eating options.

I checked out the mall downtown before seeing a show at City Winery. We had parked in one of the…read morenearby decks surrounding the mall, so we cut through Fashion District on our way to the venue. It's huge. There's even a skyway that connects two building structures that make-up the mall. You have you're mall standards inside like H&M, but also an Apple store. Despite being an urban mall, it's pretty spacious and - in the winter - good place to duck inside for a break from the cold weather.

I'll forever call it The Gallery, but it's not The Gallery. I don't think it knows what it is…read more There's a Pandora store, Kate Spade Outlet, and a Nike store for fancier shopping. There's Sephora, Ulta, H&M for run-of- the- mill mall shopping. There are food court kiosks but they are spread out instead of collected in a good court. There are "print your own tee shirt" spots, some local biz, and a dollar store. A movie theater. A co- working space. City Winery. All under one very large roof. That doesn't make for good browsing, imo. I stop in if there's something I need at one store, then leave. I've never stopped for moisturizer at Ulta and decided to visit Burlington or watch a movie. The Gallery was a place to hang out in its heyday, but Fashion District restricts unaccompanied minors. So it often feels empty and lifeless. But if you need a brick-and-mortar store so you can try on before you buy, they might help.

I've been going to the mall my whole life, and it has certainly changed. It used to be a place…read morewhere anyone could go and not feel intimidated, but that atmosphere has shifted a lot over the years. While they've clearly invested in renovations and made the space look more modern and upscale, the overall vibe isn't what it used to be. The updates themselves aren't necessarily a bad thing--the mall is cleaner, brighter, and has a more polished look. But with those changes, it feels like the sense of community has faded. It used to be somewhere families, teens, and regular locals could all comfortably spend time together. Now, it feels more exclusive and, at times, less welcoming. The mix of stores has also changed quite a bit, leaning more toward higher-end or trend-driven shops rather than the balanced variety it once had. Because of that, it doesn't feel as accessible or practical for everyday visits. Overall, while the mall may look better on the surface, it has lost some of the character and inclusiveness that made it special in the first place. It's not necessarily worse in every way--but it's definitely not the same.
