Right from the moment I met him, he made me feel like family. His smile and positive attitude makes the atmosphere that much better. The most trustworthy, caring, and gentle dentist I have EVER had!! I currently live in Michigan but keep Dr. Derbalian as my dentist and see him when I come to LA a couple of times a year. Almost 13 years ago my former dentist put in 4 fillings at once and never filed them down properly causing there to be tons of pressure on those fillings whenever I bit down. When I told that dentist my teeth really hurt when I eat chips or crunchy foods he recommended root canals--I immediately stopped seeing that dentist. After that I saw 2 other dentists who told me I needed root canals because I told them my teeth hurt whenever I would eat crunchy foods. I was so frustrated and was having major trust issues with dentists because I knew I didn't need root canals and thought I was going to have to live with the pain forever. No more chips, apples, protein bars :( Then, like a miracle my fiancée recommended Dr. Derbalian! He fixed my problem fillings and told me that root canals were not necessary. For the first time in 13 years I am PAIN FREE when I eat crunchy foods!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! He is the most gentle and compassionate dentist as well as human being I have ever met. I wish there were more ways for me to let people know how wonderful he truly is. Christina, who sits at the front desk is so sweet and very knowledgeable. My dad is a dentist - and although i may be biased i'm inclined to say a pretty great one at that (no one likes getting shots in their mouth, by family member or not- but i have never had any problems). Needless to say I kind of thought I was set in the dentist department. But when i smashed in my front teeth and dad is 400 miles away, i needed to find someone good to help me ASAP. Need clearance to get ortho done . Came to this doctor. He stated I needed hundreds of dollars worth of replacing old fillings. These did not have cavities and was purely cosmetic. I spoke to my friend who's a dentist for an unbiased opinion. Once he looked at my records and X-rays he stated it was not needed to move forward to get Invisalign. Start my treatment less than a year ago with this office, After the first and second visit I was impressed, Until had a extraction and implant done on my tooth, Sure enough have to go for x-ray for 6 months before all done, But once in the middle of treatment they don't care if I had an appointment. 2 pm appointment turn out to be 2:35 still have to wait, When ask about my appointment time which is just another x-ray for five minutes in and out, office receptionist tells me other people were before me in the office and I have to wait. Don't understand why they gave so many appointments they can't keep up, Big sing says if you miss your appointment $50.00 charge, Now who owes me a $50.00. I think Dr. Vic is doing great job, But the assistants and office staff are so unprofessional (Need Training). I am not going back to this office for dental work again. So expensive $3000.00 for implant one tooth. Not worth the price. read more

Hands down the BEST Dentist Ever!! Doctor Vic is extremely knowledgeable, experienced and caring dentist I have ever met. He was referred to me by a family member. I kept delaying to see a dentist then I cracked my tooth at the movies while eating popcorn. I was in severe pain for 3 days. Then I decided to contact Doctor Vic's office, Christina (front office receptionist) gave me same day appointment. She was very helpful and assured me that they will take good care of me. I arrived to the office and the team provided great service. Hrach, Dental Assistant, performed my xrays. He was knowledgeable and professional. Then I was seen by Dr. Vic who reviewed my xrays then examined all my teeth while explaining all the dental work I needed. He was so compassionate, knowledgeable and patiently listened to all my needs. His approach made me feel at ease and I felt so comfortable even though I had only met with him for less than 10 minutes. He explained all the procedures I needed and even though they were completely booked, he made sure I was seen the next day. They knew the urgency and the pain I was going through. The next day, Dr. Vic extracted my wisdom tooth with no pain and filled my cracked tooth. I couldn't believe it and was extremely impressed with Dr. Vic's skills. He has a very gentle touch. Dr. Vic and Hrach worked so well together during my procedure. I couldn't believe what an amazing Dentist Dr. Vic really is. Thanks to him and his team I am pain free. read more

"As good as it gets" is the perfect way to describe this very real,very caring,and extremely qualified DDS. He is professional but very different from any other person I have met in the medical field in the way he cares about his patients. He makes you feel comfortable from the start, explains everything, and gives you options. Pain management is a main priority, He was my husband's oral surgeon and did an extensive amount of work on him on Saturday's because my husband owns his own buss. and could not come in during the week. (Talk about working with his patients!) He also removed our twin daughters wisdom teeth, again on a weekend and did so back to back so both my husband and I could be there for them. I was so impressed by this man and his genuine caring nature, along with his skilled hands that I switched from my Dentist (of many years) to become his patient. Amazing dentist. I've been coming to Doctor Vic since i was seven years old, and started working with him when I was 18. He was always a good Dentist through my eyes even before I started studying dentistry, administering painless shots and taking great care while working on patients, but it was after I started working with him when i realized what a truly amazing dentist he is. After developing a considerable understanding of what dentistry is and should be, I've come to understand that Doctor Vic is one of the best Dentists i know along side few others. He treats patients properly, honestly, and treats all of them like family. After visiting other offices, shadowing other dentists and seeing how low the average standard of care is, Doctor Vic is at the pinnacle of Dentistry. Writing this review for the sake of others. Not sure how this doctor got 4.5 stars. I give them solid 2. Every time I was scheduled for visit, I would come to locked doors. They would either be late in the morning or out for lunch in the noon at the time when they actually scheduled me. I had to wait 20 minutes outside for them to show up. All the work the doctor has done, had been subpar. Replacing a filling was a nightmare. As part of the procedure I was administered local anesthesia which stopped numbing before the doctor finished drilling (this happened first time in my life), causing severe pain. Pain from that procedure lingered for weeks. Also, when I came back complaining about severe pain, they took Xray twice of the same tooth same angle and charged me twice (in addition to charging my insurance for every visit). In the end, the procedure needs to be redone. Defiantly not coming back. read more
