Dr. Levy is THE BEST!!!! I was so skeptical and scared of chiropractors that when I injured my back a year ago I still did not go. I just dealt with the pain until a camping trip this memorial weekend made it worse and I could not walk, sit, stand or sleep without being in pain. I found Dr. Levy through Yelp, he had the highest ratings and comments so I took the chance. He answered and got me in within the hour. He was so comforting and reassuring. I started going to chiropractors when I was 8 and I'm now 45. I have participated in every type of therapy, and have mostly found chiros who want me to come in multiple times per week for "x" number of weeks-- all for non-chronic issues; occasional lower back pain, some upper back stress issues, occasional neck stiffness. I'm so glad all of you wrote about your experiences with Dr. Levy! It's because of his strong reviews on yelp that I tried out chiropractic medicine and gave him a shot. I had sciatic pain that left me unable to sleep, walk and pretty much left me miserable. I had an appointment with an orthopedist but the pain was too intense to wait. I got right in to Dr. Levy. 15 minutes later - relief! I can't believe it. I did one follow up appointment and I'm now fine. Dr. Levy saved me when all else failed! I had been troubled with groin pain for a year. I'm 64 years old and I know I have to give myself extra time to heal but a year had not made any difference. I'd tried drugs, physical therapy, heat, ice and rest without any results. I'd also had trouble sleeping because my hips were always sore. I had stopped my favorite activities such as hiking and gardening because I never knew when the groin pain would bring me to a standstill or cause me to stumble. I didn't think a chiropractor could help because I thought the groin pain must be some kind of muscular inflammation. I made an appointment with an orthopedic surgeon to rule out hip arthritis. One day, before my appointment with the orthopedic doctor, I was in bad pain and, in desperation and upon the recommendation of a girlfriend, I tried Dr. Levy. Dr. Levy is the most personable, relaxed, and fun guy you'd ever want to meet. He's surfer-tan with a big smile and always in shorts and flip flops and he really knows what he's doing. His office in Hermosa Beach is casual and unassuming. You can walk in without an appointment and I never waited more than 2 minutes to see him. He's down to earth and practical. He didn't try to sell me on numerous visits or prolonged treatments. I was always happy to see him. In less than two months, Dr. Levy realigned my pelvis and stopped the groin pain and the pain in my hips when I sleep at night. When I started his treatments, I stopped taking ibuprofen so I could really measure whether he was doing any good. There was some pelvic pain while my pelvis settled into its correct position but the groin spasms decreased in number and intensity. I am now pain free for the first time in a year. I am cautiously ramping up my activity level and I'm hopeful that there will be no backsliding. If there is, I will rush to Dr. Levy. Dr. Levy's great at what he does and isn't going to string you along to get more money out of you. I've come in twice now with a horrible neck pain and left practically healed. Both times, he didn't try to sign me up for a follow-up visit and told be to call in if I still have issues a few days later--no silly first time, comprehensive assessments (unless it's needed, I presume) and no signing you up for 10 return visits. I've seen Dr. Levy a few times, and my husband was a regular. Office is small and cozy, Dr. Levy is very laid back and I love his "only come and see me if you're in pain philosophy". I'm usually in and out of that office within 10 minutes- which is key for me. My other chiropractor- who was also awesome- gave me a hard time after I had mentioned I wanted to cancel there monthly package.
