I'm so glad I did! The environment in Laura's space is super calming (lemongrass essential oils...mmm, dimly lit, and the comfiest bed ever to lay on-I could have easily fallen asleep). Laura never made me feel judged for my acneic skin and curated the facial, right then and there, to fit my needs. My skin was seriously glowing, after! At the end of my facial, she even gifted me a sample of a Vitamin-C serum that she had on hand, to help with my hyperpigmentation. Laura has such a grounding personality about her-kind, genuine, and non-judgmental...all of the things I would want from an esthetician when being in a vulnerable state (barefaced). Oh! And, I must mention-I have gone back to her multiple times for waxing and I can't say enough great things about the experience! Normally, when I get waxed, my skin is red and irritated for the remainder of the day, afterward. Not with Laura-I was able to return to work within the hour of leaving my appointment with no trace of redness or irritation. Incredible. If you are on the fence about treating yourself because you have anxiety like me (about having sensitive skin), don't be. Laura is amazing and will leave you feeling rejuvenated, post-visit. After my appointment with Jessica--who has always been fantastic--I opened the door of the exam room and the owner was standing there blocking my way, she said flatly and rudely "thanks for leaving us a 3 star review" I was taken back because it was not only rude and unprofessional but I didn't expect to be ambushed while at the dr's. Jessica rushed from the room, and the owner closed the door behind her as she walked in blocking me from leaving the room and began criticizing me for leaving it. Throughout the conversation (wasn't much of a conversation as she wouldn't allow me to speak and she blocked me from leaving the room)I felt I was not given an opportunity to explain my perspective, as she repeatedly spoke over me whenever I tried to respond. She explained how much she and her staff do for their patients, including caring for cancer patients, and said that I didn't know everything they do throughout the day. I appreciate and respect the work healthcare providers do, and I have no doubt they help many people. However, none of that changes my personal experience as a patient. My original review acknowledged that I received good care while also pointing out a recurring issue with wait times. In my five visits, I was seen approximately 15-30 minutes after my scheduled appointment every time. I understand that delays happen and that doctors sometimes need to spend extra time with patients. My point was simply that patients' time is valuable as well, and consistent delays are worth mentioning in an honest review. When I told the owner that, because of our interaction, I would not be returning to the practice, her response was simply, "Good." Jessica continues to be an excellent provider. She is knowledgeable, personable, and has always treated me with kindness and professionalism. Unfortunately, my interaction with the owner overshadowed those positive experiences. I believe patients should be able to leave respectful, honest feedback--both positive and constructive--without feeling confronted or made to feel guilty for sharing their experience. For reference, here is my original review: "I've received great care from the staff when I've been seen. However, in my five visits, I have been called back approximately 15-30 minutes after my scheduled appointment every time. I understand that patients can run late and that providers need to spend the necessary time with each patient to provide quality care. She uses fresh paraffin wax for every client, none of this sticking your hand into a container full of wax which countless other people have stuck their hand into before you - thank you for that!! On top of that is was an off brand filler and then charged $800 for the syringe with no results. In past years it has taken a half of syringe from the person that used to do my filler, but unfortunately she has moved out of state. Won't ever go back, if she's the best there I'm a bit afraid to try my $800 luck on someone else.
