I've unfortunately had multiple negative experiences with the front staff at this office. My doctor referred me here for two issues. They initially let one of my referrals time-out without notifying me or my doctor until I followed up with them after an abnormally long wait without having heard anything. They told me at that time that I was no longer in line to wait for an appointment and would need to start from scratch. So for that issue I've just had to go without healthcare attention for quite a long time because of the office's mistake. They were not courteous or apologetic about the problem on the phone. Separate to that, I did get an appointment with another of their doctors under another referral (this doctor didn't treat the first issue which is why there were separate referrals); and at that appointment while checking in the desk staff were rude and short with me and I also overheard them gossiping negatively about patients while I was sitting waiting for my appointment. Incredibly unprofessional behaviour overall that has left me with a negative impression of the service at the office. It's a shame because even though the doctor seemed to be really good, the interactions I've had with the staff are bad enough that I'll still have to seek out alternative care options. read more

Very pretty and clean looking office. My Dr. is great as she helped clear my acne, however, she did not offer too many options nor tell me how to clear naturally/ what causes the acne etc. It is all pills that I must take which I am not a big fan of. She is also veryyyyy quick with the appointments in which I feel like they are rushed. I wait a while to get into a room only to be seated at an appt for 5 minutes. I wish the appointments did not feel rushed and like they were just trying to get me out of the office. I am however giving 4 stars because of how kind and sweet my Dr is. The front desk is also very dismissive and came off a little rude and did not greet me. The back desk, the woman is very kind and did not rush when trying to get my next appt set up. Which I appreciated because she was not trying to get me out of the office fast and I felt calm. read more

I had an appointment at Dermatology on Bloor with Dr. Daniel Schachter and I was very disappointed with his conduct. Dr. Schachter was one-hour and 15 minutes late for the appointment, and upon entering the room, he immediately berated me for having asked his assistants of his status after 30 and 60 minutes of waiting. Dr. Schachter was aloof and condescending throughout the entire appointment. He was also often unable to even answer the most basic questions related to the side-effects treatments that I had asked him about. read more

I chose Dermatology on Bloor because a doctor there had been very kind and caring when my mother had melanoma. I wanted to have red veins in my face removed and was given vascular laser treatment. For several days afterwards my skin was still red from the treatment so I couldn't tell if it had worked (the doctor advised this would be the case but that the redness would resolve itself). After two and half weeks, when the irritation from the laser subsided I noticed that my veins had not been cleared up. I was not able to get an appointment with the original doctor and the second doctor said to me, 'I'm sure Dr. X told you it would take several treatments." She then also mentioned that anything like sun exposure and sneezing would bring the broken veins back. I was not told this by the treating doctor and would not have forked out $500 for the treatment had I known any of this. I wish I had looked at the reviews on her prior to going to this clinic. read more

Unprofessional doesn't begin to describe this clinic. I got a referral a month ago and no one has called with an appointment. I've called multiple times - no answer. I've left multiple messages and calls remain unreturned. I guess they're too busy ripping people off with Botox injections and chemical peels, that no one has time to look at my psoriasis. I worked there for about 3 months. The most horrible staff. I swear these girls are worse then little snobby bratty kids at a private schoool who sit and whisper and gossip about each other. God it was one of the worst experiences. I dont want to bash the place, because Dr Hanna is a really nice guy. And his wife is nice as well. Same with the Doctors. They are okay but they just want cosmetic services. Dr Curtis is very good and she will help u with your concerns. She is very professional. Other then that it was whatever, they way they treat the patients could be a little better too. They will talk about a patient right when the patient is in the other room; pretty sad to call it a business, now I know why the turn over rate is so high!! read more

Dr. Waller gave me a quick treatment but did not work :( After 4 weeks later she referred me to a plastic surgery for a skin tag remove that will cost me 600 dollars . I really liked my doctor, but the service here is difficult. I had to cancel an appointment last minute, which the receptionist happily accepted. Then I called back the following week to reschedule. No news. I emailed the personal assistant, no news. I emailed the general email. No news. In essence, it took me one month for them to call me back to reschedule my appointment, and the first they asked about was the rescheduling fee of $75. Fine, I'll accept the consequences. I asked to pay over phone, and they cannot take debit card that way. I don't have a credit card. They asked can I use someone else's? Is that a serious question? I told them I can pay for the fee the next time I go into the office for my appointment. But they refused, and won't make the appointment unless I pay right now over the phone. It's just such a shame, and highly frustrating. read more

I was visiting Toronto for business and had somewhat of an urgent matter to tend to. I contacted a number of dermatologists over phone/email from a google search, and this office responded right away. I was easily set up with Dr. Sonia Abdulla even though I had U.S. insurance. The office was clean but the waiting room was a bit tight. The front desk girls could have been friendlier too - one of them did not smile at all and had a rather curt attitude. However, everything about Dr. Abdulla was positive. She helped me with my issue and offered me good advice and was patient throughout. Highly recommend her. read more

I went for a body scan to see if I had any worrisome skin issues. This is covered by OHIP once a year . Dr. Waller had little time for me and rushed through the appointment and told me not to come back unless I had something that looked like skin cancer. She showed me pictures of what that would look like. She was dismissive . I believe that everyone who works there has been told to work as quickly as possible and bill as much as you can. The atmosphere was cold , sterile and filled with anxiety .I believe the orders come from the top. Please be aware of this place!! I would give this place a zero if I could. Dr. M.A. Curtis was very rude and misleading. She scammed me - she checked out my neck mole and claimed it had a dot beside it, then she moved to my back and found another mole. She said she could take both off at the same time and the second would be free. Great! That would be $250. NO - she scammed me and charged me $500, claiming that the dot on my neck was the second mole she meant would be free. Very poor communication and disrespect - she didn't care that this was unclear and was very comfortable double charging me. The receptionist was also rude and told me I didn't have to follow her when I went back to dispute the double charge. I paid, left balling my eyes out and returned to explain that what she had done was wrong. She stared blankly at me and said, "will you be happy with $300?" She didn't apologize or care at all that I was upset and mislead. I left with a really bad taste in my mouth. I would NOT recommend this clinic to anyone - she was not professional nor did she care that she had scammed me; very unapologetic. Dr. Hanna is not a good dermatologist. I went in with all the signs of a damaged moisture barrier after months using benzol peroxide to clear up my acne. Dr. Hanna seemed completely unfamiliar with the fairly common condition, and seemed to disagree that it was even possible. Furthermore, if I hadn't known any better and followed his advice (further treatment with harsh acne treatments, even accutane, instead of letting the skin heal), I would have damaged my skin even further, most likely irreparably. He didn't listen to me at all, I told him about my symptoms (dehydrated irritated skin), he told me that was normal and that's just the way my skin would be from now on, which was completely disheartening (and not true thankfully). His big suggestion was to buy the $150 moisturizer that is sold out of the clinic, Skinceuticals, which I'm sure he gets a kickback from for referrals. His overall attitude as well was very dismissive, and it seemed like he was just trying to get through patients as quick as possible. Thankfully the next dermatologist knew exactly how to treat my skin, and was much more professional. It's honestly scary to think that if I hadn't done at least a baseline of research, and I had followed this doctors terrible advice, my skin would have been irreparably damaged. With how much self image is tied to mental health, it's incredibly irresponsible for a doctor practicing dermatology to be this misinformed. I believe that Dr. Hanna should at least seek additional training, or preferably be medically disbarred. read more

I went to Dr. Hanna to have a mole removed, which he did. He then rushed out so fast I had to stop him to ask how to treat it, which he rushed through, just before asking that I carry my own mole down to reception. So I carried my own mole down to reception... turns out he did a bad job removing it as I now have a nasty scar and half the mole came back. Very disappointed with the whole experience, will never come back here. read more

Dr Curtis kept me waiting 30 minutes and did not even acknowledge or apologize. When I inquired with Lindsey from their admin about switching doctors I was informed that the doctors practice 'complicated medicine' which can result in waits. This doesn't explain why they cant explain or acknowledge the delay with patients. If you want to wait for your appointment and then be disrespected by your doctor, this is the place for you! If your experience is negative and you follow up, they obviously do not care. read more

I was referred to this clinic by my doctor a few weeks ago. I rang them last week, listened to a long message explaining not to ring them until 24 hours after the referral was made. I hung up and waited two more days just to be sure. When I rang back, they were running behind and my referral was apparently somewhere in their pile of faxes. They would get back to me if I left my name and number, which I did. A week later I had heard nothing, so I rang again. They were too busy to answer and speak with patients, but if I left a message they would return my call. The recording warned that I should only leave one message. I tried calling 4 times over a month long period, leaving messages, to make a badly needed follow-up appointment without getting a return call. Woo- how professional! I had to travel to Toronto for business last week and while having a chit chat with a client we had "lady's talk" where she talked so highly of Dr. Hanna and Dr. Schachter. She recommended them so highly to me that I figured it would not harm to get a consultation on my skin issues. i called in and got an appointment rather quickly and than was greeted very friendly by the front desk. Dr. Hanna took the time to listen to my worries about my skin issues and than showed me a few solutions he can do and explained each one of them. Not once did i feel pressured or their prices are more then fair compare t what I would pay down here in Florida. Since i will be in Toronto more often I have scheduled several appointments already to start my treatment. Next time I will meet with Dr. Schachter to have a consultation regarding my psoriasis. Both thumbs up for being friendly, timely, quickly and experts in their fields! I can't find such a professional level down where I live as here they are more specialized on a certain skin tones it seems. Not in this practice! read more

My review is based only on the fact that I did not get the courtesy of having my call answered. My doctor sent in a referral, as required, and I was told that this clinic would not call me, that I had to call to make an appointment. They have a very long, almost officious-sounding voice mail message, including the request that you only leave one message. I never received a call back and after 2-3 weeks requested my doctor to refer me elsewhere. This may seem petty to do this, but I don't care how busy they are - if they can't give me the courtesy of a call-back I don't wish to see them for treatment. Dr. Abdula was over an hour late for my appointment which had been scheduled first thing in the morning. She walked in, laughed but did not apologize when I indicated she was quite late and appeared clearly irritated by my comment. While I was explaining my presenting issues, she abruptly cut me off stating that she was only going to look at my sun damage. Then, without any further explanation, she pulled out her liquid nitrogen gun and proceeded to spray my forehead and temples. She did not explain what she was doing and did not provide any information on what to expect and/or how to treat the resulting blisters and scabs. My questions received perfunctory comments. After about 10 min she was finished and informed me that i'd receive a call to schedule a follow up in about 3 months. I felt i was being processed on an assembly line in a factory. Beautiful setting cosmetically, but lousy service. Unfortunately, the skin damage has returned and as i hadn't received a follow up call, i asked my physician to re-refer me. He suggested that i phone their clinic to arrange my appointment. After leaving 3 messages over the course of a week, i received a return call and booked an appointment with Dr. Curtis. I had an appointment this past Monday and after reading earlier reviews, was prepared for a less than satisfying visit. What I experienced was just the opposite. The staff at reception and at discharge were friendly and very professional. Dr. Taradash is the first Dermatologist (and I have had appointments with at least 4 over the years), was warm, a great listener and willing to take whatever time I needed to answer my questions. I would highly recommend this practice and him to anyone. read more

I'm a professional actor and Dr. D @ Dermatology on Bloor is a career boosting miracle man! I am NOT a model and I'm a lot older than I look. My friend (not in the business) went to Dermatology on Bloor first so I was sold and confident before I arrived but to be frank I had NO idea what I wanted, needed or anything about the benefits of Botox, Fillers or bla bla bla whatever. I can tell you first hand that you can not go wrong with Dr. D. He listens and looks and works absolute magic - you can trust that he will get results with care and expertise - I mean, ten years rolled right off me within 45 minutes and I've never turned back. I cannot look anything but natural - I"m NOT a model and if anyone can tell a procedure has been done that's not good - well I tell you no one knows WHY I look and feel so darn good - except the peeps @ Dermatology on bloor. I had to write this to share the good news - if you are wondering WIFM (what's in it for me) nothing - except spreading the self-esteem and galmour boosting vibe.
