I completed three laser sessions for a scar and saw absolutely no results. My scar actually got worse, which the staff themselves confirmed, yet they gaslighted me and tried to blame it on me. I had a very positive experience at this Clinic. All the staff that I came in contact with were professional and polite which made me feel comfortable as I was nervous about my treatments. Weronika is a very knowledgeable RN and was so genuine and helpful. It was a pleasure to meet her and I trust her with my skin! I realized that they removed my review on Google from 2.5 years ago but: I went there because I have scars and they applied acid on my face and not only did the scar not disappear, but they created another scar by dropping some product that is still here to this day and then gaslit me saying I asked for it. After a long week, it was great to have a facial. I was greeted at the door, and given a refreshment, which was appreciated. The staff took their time and gave me information about the products, and service I was about to receive. I booked the wrong procedure, as it was going to take a few days to heal and needed to see clients on Monday. So the staff quickly changed me to the silk facial with no down time. Just the worst place ever. I always end up waiting over an hour when I go. One time the clinic closed on Monday and they didn't even notify me despite having an appointment so I went to the office for nothing. So unprofessional. I went to Q Esthetics several times in 2019 & 2020 and overall had a great experience with their laser treatments. The staff is friendly and the salon is clean and sanitized during COVID-19. I'm happy with the overall results and would definitely come back again if needed. read more

Disclaimer: I did receive a complimentary peel treatment session from Q Esthetics, but all of my opinions are strictly my own. I came in for a session of the AlumierMD Glow Peel. I was super excited as the treatment claims to target acne spots, calm irritation and redness, and leave the skin looking glowy and radiant. Upon arrival, I was immediately put at ease by my friendly esthetician Genevieve, who gave me some forms to sign before we got started. During the treatment, Genevieve would brief me on every step so that I was well-informed of what she was doing to my skin. She was also extremely helpful in answering my questions, and even helped me diagnose the reason for my forehead acne! During the actual portion of the chemical peel, there was a imminent burning and irritating sensation, but the process was a lot more pleasant than I expected. After the treatment, I was given an after-care kit to ensure the proper healing of my skin. Going into this, I envisioned that the peeling would be pretty noticeable, but it has been more than a week now and I still have not experienced any peeling of that sort. I also have not experienced any itching, which was one of the post-treatment symptoms. I would have preferred a more dramatic healing process as I would be able to really see the peel working its magic, but that would be my only complaint. All in all, the peel did do what it claimed as I do notice some of the irritation from my acne going away and my skin looking more radiant! read more

I went to Q Esthetics in Feb 2020 to get eyelid tattoo removed on both eyes and Marcella was very careful, efficient and kind. This medical clinic is located in a secluded area within Yorkville. After entering the building there are stairs that lead up to where the office is located. The office has a modern design and welcoming waiting area. Upon entering the office, I was offered a complimentary beverage before my treatment started. I received the Silk Peel Dermal Infusion Treatment (http://dermalinfusion.com/the-treatment/). I chose this treatment because I have rough skin with large pores and I was hoping for exfoliation and reduction in the appearance of my pores. Genevieve delivered my treatment and she was very informative and respectful throughout the process. So the silk peel treatment uses this machine that I can only describe as being a little exfoliating stick with the nozzle being the size of a quarter. It dispenses the serum (which is chosen specifically for your skin), and suctions the dead skin and dirt that is removed. The process was not too uncomfortable for me, but it was still abrasive and I would be cautious if your skin does not take well to regular exfoliation. This exfoliation process is followed by a mask. During the treatment, I felt a little over flooded with information, although the post-procedure care was quite simple - just apply sunscreen, which I do anyway. There was no restrictions on swimming, bathing or even going in the sun. I was given a sunscreen and night cream sample as I left. Full disclosure, I received a complimentary silk peel treatment from Q Esthetics. I've never received a peel treatment before because I felt that it was unnecessary for me, but after my treatment I think this could be a nice alternative for someone that might want a treatment that is not as intensive as a full chemical peel. read more

Avoid this place at all costs!! I had a mole removed on my bikini line. After the procedure, I was told that I would have a little bit of bleeding and thus to avoid exercise. When I got home, the wound would not stop bleeding. It was gushing blood for hours and hours. I called the clinic and they told me to just elevate myself and apply pressure. I told them I had obviously already done this to which they replied to just keep applying pressure. At this point my clothes and bedsheets were completely soaked with blood and I had to go to emerg. I was given two stitches to close the wound. The healing was completely botched. read more

STAY AWAY. This company was extremely unprofessional and their license should be taken away. Reports have been made. I went in for a consultation and was told that a mole I would like to have removed had zero chance of scarring and would require one treatment only. When I booked the procedure, I was told that they "screened" to determine if the mole required a biopsy and would refer otherwise if so. I found out afterwards that this screening was conducted by the clinical director who does not have a medical license in Canada therefore cannot "screen" if a mole is cancerous but I was not told that. I only found out after asking if the person who screens is a Doctor (to which they said yes, and I said which type, and they said a surgeon in her home county - and I said are they an MD in Canada and the answer was no). Additionally, right before the procedure was about to begin (when I was lying in the clinic with the tool to burn the mole right above my face) I was told that my procedure will likely scar. It is on my face so I did not want that to be the case. Additionally, they told me that it will require another treatment despite initially confirming it would only require one. They then changed the cost of the second treatment twice and it doubled. They claimed I signed this paper, which I do not remember and the amount was written in pen and could have been added in. Additionally, informed consent is both verbal and written and this was not informed. I have complained to them and they have continued to lie to me. As they do with all negative reviews I suspect they will comment and pretend it was the customer who misunderstood. These people have been reported. Stay away. If you have had a similar experience, I suggest you report them as well as this is extremely unprofessional and they cannot continue their services in a vulnerable sector that involves medical procedures. read more

A little less than a week ago I had come to Q Esthetics for the first time wondering what the AlumierMD chemical peel would do for my skin. I've had acne for a long time and chose this treatment in an attempt to lighten my existing acne scars. It would be my first time doing a chemical peel and I was slightly nervous reading material online for what to expect. However, Q Esthetics had given me such a wonderful experience that I would return again to continue treatment. To give you more detail, the clinic itself has a modern aesthetic and there wasn't a speck of dirt in sight! I was immediately greeted by friendly staff and offered water or coffee while I wait. I did come early and witnessed several existing customers going in and out from their appointments all treated equally with the same service I received. Instantly, my nerves had calmed down, I knew I was going to be well taken care of. I signed a couple forms up front and when my appointment time came I was immediately taken in. It's nice to have a clinic that actually follows their schedule :) My aesthetician (I feel horrible for forgetting her name) was great. Throughout the whole procedure she explained step by step what she was putting on my face and what I should expect. She explained what kind of sensations I would be feeling (tingling, burning, heat etc.) and always checked in on how I was doing. The entire procedure was pretty painless and only took around 45 mins. Considering it's a peel, I was given a 5-day post-recovery kit and 1-pager with post-recovery information. I followed it all to a T. People tell me, "Monika, you don't need any kind of treatment, I barely notice your acne scars." However, I see these scars everyday and they stick out like a sore thumb when I looked at myself in the mirror. I've finally reached the end of the recovery period and today I'm feeling great about my skin and definitely less self-conscious. If I were to make a suggestion it would be to include more details on their 1-page post recovery information. They explained a couple things verbally, which was fine, but over 5-days you tend to forget. That aside, I did call in a couple times to make sure I was following the correct procedure and the staff were always patient in answering all my questions. Disclaimer: I received a complimentary peel from Q Esthetics, but my opinions are my own. I visited the clinic on Thursday evening. It's been a while since I've had a peel done (when I say a while, I mean like 5 to 6 years ago, so I was looking forward to this treatment. The facility is nice and clean, and the staff were really knowledgeable. When I first arrived, I was given a set of forms to fill out ( 2 pages, pretty standard ~ you don't need your health card number apparently, unless you are doing something with moles). I got lost on my way here, mostly because I'm bad with directions, but its on Bellair, above the japanese restaurant, it looks like you're going to Taz hair salon, but there's another set of stairs beyond that. I selected the Alumier MD Glow Peel, which in my research "combines 7% lactic acid, 7% salicylic acid and 7% resorcinol. This creates a multipurpose resurfacing solution effective in minimizing the appearance of fine lines, wrinkles and hyperpigmentation issues like age spots, discoloration and uneven skin tone. This formula exfoliates dead skin cells and stimulates skin renewal." My skin is super sensitive, so my Medical Esthetician Marcela applied one layer to my skin. I'm super super obsessed about not getting wrinkles so this was a good choice for me. On to the actual peel... Marcela gently applied the peel, and explained that I what I might experience. There was some light tingling, but nothing to be alarmed about. She was super personable and made me feel at ease as she gently explained what she was doing and next steps. She used a fan which was cooling, so the tingling was less noticeable. What's interesting about this peel is that it is left on and I was instructed not to touch my face until the morning. (in the old days, they would put on some neutralizing solution and remove everything from your skin ~ oh how times have changed!). I feel like this peel is gentle enough for most people. I'm super hypersensitive about shiny skin. Since the peel is left on, with additional application of their "Intensive Recovery (an intensive moisturizer) and sunscreen, I felt like there was a noticeable shine to my skin, but she applied some powder that reduced this effect. I was given an after care kit to treat my skin for the next 5 to 7 days. The next day, my skin did feel a bit tight, almost itchy, but not really. I noticed immediately that the appearance of enlarged pores was diminished. At the end of day 2, there seemed to be a thin layer of skin forming over my cheek, that looked a bit like a thin scab, but that came off by itself when washing my face with the treatment kit. Over the next few days, I did notice some gentle peeling, not as much as a sunburn, but just light peeling. Most notably, I noticed an immediate improvement in texture of my skin. I'm super happy with the overall experience, and even though I received this complimentary treatment, I'm strongly considering following a full protocol of 3 more peels to get best results. read more

I saw their response to my review around the same time and requested that they not disclose personal information as it pertains to my case and to stick to their issue with my review. They have yet to remove the personal information I asked that they not mention publicly. So no, I will not be contacting them as I do not appreciate having my personal information disclosed without my permission and would not return for a follow-up because of this reason and the one noted in this review. --- After a good experience with a chemical peel - good service - I decided to take a chance and purchase another service. Specifically, I had a cyst that I wanted to have removed, and purchased a 4 visit/treatment service to address the issue. They had told me that 4 treatments would make a big difference. Needless to say, I trusted them and paid about $500 for it. Several months later, I still have the cyst, and don't see any difference, and when I returned for a follow-up, they suggested that the reason why nothing really happened in the treatment was because I was pregnant (I told them I was pregnant because I wanted to make sure that the treatment would not harm the baby - because I expected them to do at least another treatment to fix the issue!). Riggghhhhttt! In fact, the situation should have improved because I am pregnant! Since I became pregnant my skin has cleared up and have had minimal skin problems. I've been to 2 other laser clinics for different issues (acne scarring and tattoo removal) and Q Esthetics is the worst clinic I've been to. I paid $1000 to have a wart removed on my finger. I finished my last treatment with minimal visible improvement. They tried to get me to pay for another round. I also showed up to my appointment today 7 minutes late so they decided to take another client in my place. I was told I'd have to wait an hour from my original appointment time for the next slot because I was late. I drove 25 minutes and paid for parking only to be turned away for an appointment I booked 2 weeks ago. I will not be back. read more

The girls were so friendly, and my therapist went through the process with me in detail as I was new to this treatment. My skin glowed and felt so supple for the next couple of days. My husband came to this clinic approximately 8 times to have laser treatment on a wart he'd had for 10+ years. Each treatment was ~$100!! Thankfully he was stuck in traffic one day, called them to inform he'd be a little late and they said he then needed to reschedule. Not a problem for him, but in order to do so, he'd have to pay to reschedule?? So the $800 commitment he'd already given them was not enough for this business to respect him. He told them "fine, then I will never be back again" and thank goodness. All that he received for $800 was 3 more warts in the area on his foot. Absolutely do not recommend this business, and absolutely do not recommend their laser treatment on warts. DO NOT DO IT! Try every other option. Also, if you have plantar warts, the solution for him was a $60 bottle of Actikerall prescribed by a dermatology clinic downtown AvantDerm. He is now wart free (all 4 have been eliminated) no thanks to this business. ***************************************************************************************** Update in response to Business Manager: Thank you for your quick response. This occurred a year ago so perhaps policy has changed but even your response is not definitive. You are "extremely" understanding of uncontrollable circumstances yet the staff that responded to my husband's phone call never even asked why he was running late before stating he would be charged so I think most would agree that is less than understanding. She said if he can arrive on time, then he would not be charged a "rescheduling fee" - her words. He said there was no way he could get there at the scheduled time hence the call, she said it would be "too late" and a fee would be charged if he came in again for another treatment. She allowed him to walk away when he said he'd never come back, her response was "are you sure?" rather than helping the customer with their concern. It's great it happened, because the treatment wasn't helping but it shows lack of customer service and "extreme understanding" I think it's best to address a customer's concern rather than imply they are incorrect or lying. It may be a training issue then or a policy change but not our misunderstanding. I think having a clear policy (not dependent on opinion of what is considered uncontrollable circumstances, for example) works best. It should never be the go-to to charge one. That's how you lose business. Also, I completely understand that everyone is different, every condition responds differently, etc. I think it was our fault for not exhausting every other option before laser treatment for warts and that is part of why I wanted to write a review - to help clients. Given he had one small wart for 10+ years and this treatment brought about 3 more, I believe the right thing for the technician to do is discourage further treatment and discuss other options with their client (dermatologist, doctor, etc) - this keeps your client's best interest in mind, rather than making more money. I don't think he's interested in speaking directly given his negative experience last he spoke to someone at the clinic. I'm not sure how it could be advantageous to him. Unless there's an option to receive some refund for wasting money to make a condition worse? I think what we wanted here was to help others make an informed decision. read more

I had HORRIBLE exerience in this clinic, and would not want to recoment anyone to go to this place! That's why I am writting this review. I am extremely dissapointed with the treatment I paid for (3 times). I went for Permanent Eyebrow Microbrasion Removal first in December. I paid for the full 3 eyebrows treatments which cost me around $1200.00 and the Esthetician only did half of my eyebrows the first time. I went the second time in January and the same exact scenario happened all over again. I asked them why they charge for the full eyebrow when they only microblade half of it, to which their answer was that they didn't understand. The third time I went, I made sure I ask them to do the full eyebrows. The esthetician already didn't like me and when she was microblading she was supposed to apply a numbing gel, up until the end she never applied the gel. I was in a horrific pain, my eyes swelled up so much and I wasn't able to see for 3 days, to the point where I couldn't even go to work. When I was there I was so dissapointed with the procedures I asked to speak to the Manager and the esthetician never send me to one, instead she was claiming that she was the manager. I am extremely unhappy with the services I got at Q esthetics Laser Clinic in Yorkville. I had 3 treatments done, laser for cherry angiomas on my stomach and neck, skin tag removal, and a cyst removal. All procedures were botched, especially the cyst removal. The laser was too powerful for my skin and left skin discoloration and hyper pigmentation on my neck and stomach for the cherry angioma removal. The skin tag removal went well, except the esthetician removed a flat mole and it left a scar on my collarbone. The cyst removal went horribly. They used the laser and basically burned a hole through my skin to remove the cyst. It looked like someone took a cigarette and burned a hole in my shoulder. It was awful and was not the procedure we discussed in my consultation. In my consultation the technician told me it would be not invasive and would not leave a scar. The technician that did the consultation is not the same one that performed the procedure, and what I realized is the more junior less experienced technician who consulted with me at the beginning had no idea what she was talking about. The more senior technician who performed the cyst removal just went ahead an did this crazy burning of my skin without discussing it with me before hand. I have no idea how they thought this was OK to do on a client. I am so upset with the outcome. It will certainly leave a big scar. I returned for a check up and the more senior laser specialist convinced me that I immediately needed a steroid injection to reduce the itching and scar... against my better judgment I did it and it basically did nothing. After I came home and did more research about steroid injections for scars, I learned they only work if the scar is completely healed and you need several injection over periods of months for it to work. This clinic is out for your money as appose to advising you on the right treatment. I will NEVER go back. The technicians are ill skilled, they are not dermatologists or doctors and should not be performing these procedures. It's really my fault for not doing more research before trusting someone with my skin. read more

Complete rip off. Under qualified employees, who created more problems after my scar removal then helping it. Any advice I got was to always come back and pay for more treatments (which are WAY overpriced!) For two tiny red scars (pinpoint of a size- but were in the middle of my face) cost around $300 and I've had to go twice. The ladies are rude and up sell everything they can. The last appointment I had with them, they over charged me for a treatment and I had only noticed on my receipt till after. No claims or statements were made while paying for the treatment and when I asked for a refund, I had to wait days because they couldn't figure out how to do refunds on a debit machine. Extremely unprofessional and I had wasted more money going back an forth to this place (transit/gas/etc.) just to get my over charged money back. Bad experience overall. read more

I've been going to Q esthetics for a few years now and i love Dr. Hershberg. She's incredible! She does the best botox and filler injections in Toronto in my opinion. She doesn't overdue it. She likes results but she is very subtle about it and i like that a lot. I did see another doctor at that same clinic one time when Dr. Hershberg was unavailable and i was extremely dissatisfied with my results. read more
