My personal experience with Dr. Kakos and her team was frustrating and disheartening. After my daughter received dental implants, we trusted this office to handle the cosmetic restoration. What followed were multiple appointments filled with color mismatches, design issues, and blame placed on everything except the care provided--from my daughter's gum and tooth structure to previous orthodontic work, and even the implant surgeon's technique. None of these explanations changed the fact that the results simply did not look right. Despite staff repeatedly saying the teeth looked "beautiful," my daughter was left with gray-toned, short crowns that appeared unnatural. The only solutions offered were invasive and unnecessary, in my opinion, such as gum surgery or shaving down healthy teeth to compensate. This left us feeling stuck, pressured, and ultimately misled. Thankfully, we found another provider, Dr. Danyal at Berkley Dental, who corrected the work in under two hours. The difference was immediate and validating. It's important to note that after initially posting my experience, I was contacted by legal counsel representing Dr. Kakos. I was disheartened--but not surprised--that a professional response came in the form of legal threats rather than genuine concern for patient satisfaction. I believe in patients' rights to speak about their care without being silenced or intimidated. So here I am again, stating clearly and respectfully: based on my experience, I would not recommend this practice for advanced or cosmetic procedures. If you're considering more than a routine cleaning, I strongly suggest seeking a second opinion. This review reflects my own experience and opinion and is protected under federal and state consumer rights laws, including the First Amendment and the Consumer Review Fairness Act. With the calm demeanor, he gently explained that I might not fully grasp what I was asking for and then showed me that he could give me back my own smile. He promised he could create a treatment plan with options, and he delivered. After some scans, some surprisingly fun chats, and some great tunes, we sat down again. He laid out a complete roadmap to fix my teeth, explaining every detail. Better yet, he assured me he'd personally work with my insurance to get it all covered. I didn't know how to refuse and went with his plan happily. What followed were many, many appointments - some stretching over three hours! Through it all, Dr. Shimoun's focus and patience never wavered. The man is a dental artist. My mouth, once a broken-down mess that made me forget how to smile naturally, is now filled with a full set of beautifully repaired teeth. No more cracks, no more holes! Dr. Shimoun's incredible dedication, Lexi's expert and gentle care, and Tiffany's ever-present kindness have left the greatest impression on me. Though I didn't meet a single staff member I didn't like, those three are the ones that really stuck with me. Thanks to them, I'm no longer afraid to smile while driving my school bus. The amazing care didn't stop with me. My wife is now a patient, and when I brought my kids in, the team showed their true colors. Instead of just trying to make a dime, they recommended a fantastic pediatric dental specialist that was perfect for my children, in our network, and close to home. He was also willing to work with me financially since I don't have dental insurance and can't afford all the out-of-pocket costs right now. Nichole, the office manager, checked on me several times during my visit and really took the time to get to know me and understand my fear of the dentist. Erin, who scheduled my appointment, was so kind and calming over the phone, and she even checked on me again at the end of my visit. It truly is the little things that make such a big difference.
