Megan found some great bras based on what I was looking for (something for daily wear) and tailored it to my job! I liked how she was honest about what was working and what wasn't and finding me different options that I could pick and choose from. I loved the quality of the products that I tried on. I have not been to the brick and mortar Derriere de Soie since I moved away from Charlottesville in 2016, but they have been amazing about being responsive and keeping my information on file when I needed it to recreate the one true bra experience I had there. The splurge of getting fitted and starting my bra life right was one of my few joys as I finished up my graduate work and the concomitant vow of poverty. I had a lovely fitting last week with the staff at Derriere De Soie. They took my preferences into account when helping select the right garments for me. The staff were extremely professional, patient, and helpful. So glad I stopped in! I will 100% be back! Update: I also ordered a bra from ThirdLove at the same time that I had gotten my merchandise from this establishment. There is no comparison in the quality of the product offered by Derriere de Soie. Their garments are more expensive, but you can instantly tell that it is a high quality product than many mainstream brands, and I anticipate them holding up better as well. read more

I visited Derriere de Soie on a weekday afternoon and received excellent service. The woman who assisted me was named Megan. She was kind, patient, and helpful. I had only ever been fit for a bra at Victoria's Secret as a teenager, so I was not really sure what to expect walking into this shop. Megan brought me to the fitting room and took my measurements. She asked if there was anything specific I was looking for. I recently had breast augmentation and needed new every day bras. She brought back a few styles and checked the fit of each. She even adjusted the straps for me to ensure the bras fit properly. I told her what I liked and did not like and she brought back more for me to try based on those comments. She was understanding, attentive, and not pushy at all. I honestly felt like a friend was helping me. In addition to the amazing customer service, I loved the shop itself. The atmosphere is welcoming and body-positive. All sizes and shapes of women are celebrated here. The brands of bras that I purchased are high-quality and much better than what can be found in a department store at a comparable price. In my case, I could not find a bra in my size at a department store or VS. My trip to this shop was sort of a last resort to find something that fit me correctly. However, this will be my FIRST stop for undergarments in the future. My experience was a pleasant reminder to shop LOCAL. The only place I will shop. I am telling EVERYONE I know about Derriere De Soie. From their positive ad campaign to their unmatched customer service, it is nothing short of a delight to shop there. My only request would be more "fun" color/pattern options in 32DD :) Really though, they fit and assess your needs, they aren't pushy, and they make you feel welcome, which, when buying lingerie, is a welcoming environment! (discovered my favorite bra there that I now have in 3 colors...the Marie Jo Avero)...check it out! Lastly, people tend to veer away from small boutiques in fear of price tags, but Derriere has a broad price range and many options on par with or cheaper than department stores. I went to Charlottesville for my bachelorette weekend, and one of my bridesmaids made a group appointment at this fabulous little shop for a private fitting. Not only did they have beautiful selection of lingerie, but the service was outstanding! As soon as we walked in, we were greeted with a warm welcome, and they even had champagne, cheese + crackers, and chocolate waiting for us! The girls in the shop made each of us feel so comfortable and brought us numerous options to try on. I will warn you as a frugal shopper, some of the prices seem a bit high at first glance, but the quality is so worth the money. This is such a lovely little store. No matter your size, they have something for you and will get you properly measured to be sure the bra you buy is the right fit. I went in today, realized I was not the size I thought I was, and the woman made sure I was wearing the bra correctly to ensure maximum support and comfort. Not at all pushy but offered several different types of bras for me to try on and explained why she chose various styles based on what she thought would work. What a fabulous experience! I didn't know what to expect and was a little nervous going for my first bra fitting ever. I shouldn't have worried! The moment I walked into this lovely, peaceful, elegant little shop and met Sherena Michie, I was instantly at ease. Sherena worked gently and patiently with me for almost an hour, measuring and bringing me a variety of beautiful regular and sports bras until we found the perfect ones. I felt I was in the presence of an old friend - a friend with worlds of experience. As she told me, her goal is "to make every woman comfortable and happy." That is exactly what Sherena did for me. She even gave me a special bag to wash my bras, and the prices were much more reasonable than I expected. Now I've become a "for life" customer of Derriere De Soie in Charlottesville, Va. Sherena has all my information and is already ordering me a second bra. I recommend this shop with absolutely no hesitation. I was in the beginning stages of a medically necessary breast reduction due to chronic upper back pain, when my doctor suggested I try one last ditch effort to find a better bra. I went to Derriere de Soie for a bra-fitting and I was wearing the VERY WRONG size. They fitted me properly, made some suggestions to which bras might work for my body - and lo and behold - I have been able to put off the reduction for two years now. They have knowledgeable staff, great selection, and great prices. There is no substitute for being able to try on a bra with a knowledgeable staff person to help you. I will never buy another bra online again. This store changed my life - and continues to do so every time I shop there. read more
