Dina, the owner and seamstress of Sealed with a Kiss, is genuinely one of the most incredible people I have ever met in my life. Not only is she supremely talented, but she is kind, patient, and trustworthy. I purchased a custom made dress from the LA designer Cinq over a year ago and when it finally came in, it was completely, devastatingly wrong. Sizing, details, all of it. Dina retook all my measurements, explained to the dressmaker exactly what needed to be done, and when the dress came back still wrong (the dressmaker having ignored Dina's instructions) with less than a couple of weeks until my wedding, Dina literally took it apart and rebuilt it from its pieces. It was perfect. It was better and more beautiful than I ever could have imagined and it fit me like a glove. Other important things for you to know: 1. my dress was made from heritage French silk tulle and satin, everyone tells you it is impossible to find a seamstress that work with fabrics like that. You would have thought Dina was born in those materials the way she so effortlessly handled them. 2. For Dina, it was never a question of whether I was going to get my dream dress or not, she was going to make it happen. I was so gutted and discouraged by how wrong my original dress was, I was 100% ready to just scratch it and buy a new one, but instead of agreeing and selling me one, she told me she was going to make it happen, and she DID. There are very few people on this earth I think of as highly as I think of Dina. If you are within a few hours of Sealed with a Kiss, drive there. This is the seamstress you want. Figuring out your wedding dress is such an emotionally vulnerable experience and I feel so incredibly lucky and grateful to have had Dina as my partner throughout the process.

What a relief to be cared for so attentively and patiently. This assistance I was given was a breath of well needed fresh air and I left with a pair of slacks and a nice sweater. Mike sized me up and was immediately on the phone to order my suit from his supplier, with expedited shipping at no extra charge. The price was a bit more than I'd pay at Men's Warehouse, but not a whole lot more, and the garments are of noticeably higher quality, and each suit comes with lifetime free alterations. He called me the minute it came in, and I went down to try it on. It fit great, and looked great, but I immediately noticed it was a charcoal grey, rather than the lighter grey I wanted, and which I heard Mike order on the phone. In short, I knew it was the supplier's mistake, not the Shop's. But Mike didn't pass the buck, didn't explain it away. He took accountability for his supplier's mistake, and had the charcoal suit altered for me to use in my interview, and ordered the correct grey one for me when I get back. I was expecting to give back the charcoal one, but when I returned to try on the altered suit, he insisted I keep both for the trouble. I was blown away. Mike's words were "I do business the right way, the way it used to be done". Indeed. I can't recommend this place highly enough.

Stepping in to this cute boutique shop, one feels as though they have just entered a set for Sex and the City or Confessions of a Shopaholic. It's beautiful inside, with comfy sofas, fancy chandeliers, and pretty flowers to complement the spectacular selection of fashionable clothing from designers such as Tory Burch, Donna Morgan, and Kate Spade. In addition, customer service is fantastic. The ladies working at Monkee's are all very friendly and helpful, and they made me feel so comfortable while I was browsing the store.
