The house was perfect for our family reunion--our branch rented this house while the other branch rented a house 2 doors down, The house location is perfect for exploring the beach, restaurants, and shopping. We had 6 adults and 2 toddlers in our group, and the layout provided enough room to keep the kids' mess in one room, while adults could visit in a quieter, neater space. I wish there was outside space for kids to run, but the beach is there for that. Many of the windows were missing screens. I thought we were asked to do a ridiculous amount of cleanup. I'm told that's common along the Atlantic shore. Most of my VRBO experience has been in the south, Midwest, and west, and all we've been asked to do is gather garbage and start the dishwasher, and of course remove whatever we brought in. Much of the departure work revolved around gathering, counting, and bagging the rented linen (also something I've never had to do before). Some of the information in the book needs to be updated--for example, the garbage and recycling bins were not labeled as described in the book--we've not sure that we were using the correct bins. On our first night we discovered that one of the spindles on the second floor landing banister was broken--it had been pushed back together so that it looked OK, but when leaned on by one of our toddlers came apart, creating a dangerous situation. We tied ribbons between the adjacent spindles so that our toddlers didn't fall through. We didn't call Desatnick Real Estate because we were in Cape May for 3 days and we didn't want to spend time waiting for repair people. read more

This charming, historic house was a perfect setting for our growing family during the Christmas Parade holiday weekend! It was beautifully decorated with lovely rooms to gather. The high-end kitchen appliances were greatly appreciated and the island was a favorite spot to snack, drink, and chat. The off street parking and short walk to the shopping area and beach was a real plus. We like it so much and are coming back this summer! read more

My friends and I rented 830 Corgie St. from DeSatnick Real Estate for a celebratory birthday weekend. The house is in a nice location and we had a lovely weekend, until... we returned home to discover that we had contracted BED BUGS from the house on Corgie. The fact that the master bedroom had an "encampment" of bed bugs on the head board was promptly confirmed by a representative of DeSatnick (in writing). Notwithstanding this, DeSatick refused to accept its responsibility for the infestation and resulting (numerous) charges (not to mention mental health damage); the company said it could not be sure where the bed bugs originated, despite having admitted that inspection revealed an entire colony on the bed. BEWARE!!!!! read more

Horrible service, no empathy. I have rented the same unit with Desatnick for several years now. The same week each year. This is the second year my tentative reservation has been given away to someone else without any notification. Why offer a tentative reservation? The response to my email has no explanation, just that the week is not guaranteed. However, it should have been because I reserved it in July! If I hadn't emailed I would have never been notified! Do not use this Real Estate Company for your rental needs. They do not protect their renters. They do not care about their renters. They require a check for a security deposit and then make up some lies about having to keep it due to false damages. Just out for themselves. Not helpful at all. Will never use them again and you should run the other way. read more

DeSatnick Realty trumped up a bogus claim of damages to the house we rented and has since refused to return our $1k security deposit. Of course we left the unit in pristine condition, but the damage they claim we inflicted doesn't amount to more than $100 in repairs. We were repeat clients, renting homes to the tune of tens of thousands of dollars over several summers from them, but now they nickel and dime us because the real estate market is in the tank and they have to keep people's security deposits just to survive. I recommend videotaping your rental before and after your stay in order to protect yourself. read more

Desatnick has refused to return our security deposit for months, which violates the terms of their own lease agreement. We were accused of minor damage to furniture even though it was 100% not done by anyone in our party. They continue to hold a large security deposit over a minor repair and falsely accuse us. We rented Parsons Folly 221 Stites Avenue Unit 4 in Cape May from DeSatnick Real Estate the week of 7/2/2023-7/9/2023. The apartment was infested with fleas and this was confirmed by Andy of Western Pest services. See photos. This terrible experience ruined a family vacation we had saved and planned for over a year. Each member of my family suffered numerous flea bites. I suffered an allergic reaction to the bites and had to seek medical attention. We also incurred expenses for replacement of our pillows, linens and blankets as well as medical supplies. We requested a full refund and were refused. We were offered a refund only of the remaining days we couldn't stay by the owners (Larry and Elizabeth Yermack) and a processing fee of $75 by DeSatnick Real Estate. read more
