I've used this convenient drive up/drop off donation once when i needed to get rid of a lot of clothes and I already need to go back again soon. It's very easy in and out and the employees are sort of friendly but they make sure to provide you with your tax credit. I haven't been inside yet but maybe next time I do another drop off. read more

I have driven by this store so many times and finally decided to check it out and boy was I impressed! I went last Friday around 11am and was surprised to see so many people shopping. I went in to browse but most people seemed to be regular shoppers there. This store is huge, very well organized and clean. So refreshing that the store did not smell at all. I hate it when some of the thrift stores have that awful lingering smell:( You'll find pretty much everything here. There are a ton of clothes for everyone including children, furniture, home decorations, toys, electronics, kitchen ware and so much more. One thing I noticed was that they do have some brand new clothes. I actually asked one of their employees about it and was told everything is donated. Clothes seemed to be in very good condition and the prices were super cheap. Everything in this store was incredibly low priced in my opinion. I understand why they're so popular! I was actually overwhelmed by the sheer amount of clothing, so I didn't spend too long browsing. Even though I wasn't looking for anything specific, I ended up buying a cute tissue box holder. Talk about a cute place. Deseret Industries is a non-profit thrift store located in San Tan Village. The store itself is large, clean, and well laid-out. It reminded me of a better version of Goodwill, or Ross. They sell anything from movies to clothes. The selection was awesome, and I snagged some amazing deals. Pretty good thrift! I must say, it's even better than Goodwill. The staff is exceptionally nice, especially the ones assisting in the furniture section. I attempted to give a tip to a helpful kid who assisted me in loading furniture into my car, but he vehemently refused. explained that it wasn't customary and appeared afraid to accept my gesture. Hey, listen up, Buttercup! Accept the money! Every other place I know accepts tips, so why not this? Nevertheless, this place is impressively organized, and the pricing of shirts is spot-on. When I shop thrift I usually shop at Goodwill. I tried this Deseret out for the 1st time and was impressed. It's very large, maybe the largest thrift store I've patronized. There's a large selection but I was just interested in a backpack. I was nicely surprised to find a high quality Adidas pack which matched my Adidas cap. It was only $3 !!!. I understand y'all work on volunteer services but this dude is beyond rude! I picked up an iced tea container and the lid broke. This guy came over, didn't ask if we were ok (my mom and I) just accused us of breaking stuff. It took another employee to come intercept to calm the air before he just threw up his arms and walked away. Inside, you'll find lots of top brands, with prices as low as they can get them! Tons of clothes for everyone in the family, accessories, furniture, electronics, housewares, toys, and just about anything else you can think of! Every area in the store has it own select section of offerings and each location is clearly marked. From outdoor patio treasures to EVERYTHING you'd need for inside the home. Benefits here are the lower prices you'll pay compared to the surrounding "stable" thrift stores. A big plus, it doesn't smell stale! LOL Actually, while shopping I over heard a staff member talking to another employee about how they deodorize & treat the environment. It's something to do with proper ventilation! This thrift store doesn't smell like a garage dump like many others do. 2- It's organized. 3- Prices are fair and you don't have to shop on a discount day to get a good deal. 4- The employees are friendly. 5- Proceeds go to a good cause. This is truly the BEST thrift store I have ever been to. I walked in and was shocked because it looked like a regular store to me. It reminded me of Mervyns (for those of you that are old enough). It was so clean and organized that you would never guess it was used clothing. Everything was color coordinated and nicely layed out. I was also floored by the prices. They are super low and not what I was expecting. I got a pair of shorts from Express for $5. Most Jean shorts were $5, no matter what the brand. The only downside is the sizing on the tags. It is marked either small, medium, or large. So I would have to look at the tag inside the shorts everytime. They have a great selection of toys and kids clothes. They also have some new furniture and used of course. They had a huge selection of plants and flowers. I was impressed and will definitely return to this store. I have been here a handful of times now and despite the smell, they are one of the best thrift stores in the area. I go to thrift stores looking for certain collectibles. It's fun and a hobby for me. If you find something at this thrift store, no matter if it is $1, $20, or $100, they check each paper bill that you pay with as if you are a criminal. Instead of them having a counterfeit bill detector, the checker holds up each bill that you hand over to the light and then stands there scratching it in certain places to verify authenticity. Just today, I found a handful of collectibles that I purchased for a whopping $9 total. I gave Michael, the checker, one $5 bill and 4 $1 bills. He took the $5 and held it up to the light. Then he did the same for all the $1 bills, except after holding up each $1, he stood there scratching it with his finger right in the center of the bill. After he was finished messing around with the $1 bills, he went back to the $5. Held it up to the light one more time, then took a marker and drew a line through it. All while he was moving slower than molasses. Good grief people, I get checking the $20 bills, but singles?????? Seriously, what would be the point of counterfeit $1 bills??????? After seeing how slow Michael was moving, I wouldn't trust him to verify the authenticity of anything!!!! Not to mention, I was standing there at the checkout with a $1,000 luxury branded wallet and with one swipe of a credit card could probably purchase all the items in the store! This was my first time visiting this faith based thrift store. I'm not into thrifting as most stores carry a lot of junk and the clothes are dirty. Not so at DI. You walk in, and the store smells like laundry detergent. All of the clothes are washed before sale. They have name brands like Gap, Billabong, Ana to name a few. They also carry shoes, books, furniture, lamps, toys, kitchen items, etc. I bought a few tee shirts at $2.00 each. What a bargain. The man in front of me checking out, bought a bike for $7.00. Cashier was friendly too. The only negative is that if you are looking for a specific size in pants or shorts, you have to look at all the items. Everything is marked small, medium or large. It's alike a Disney land for me to spend an hour browsing through the rows of goodies. My family have always been "resale first" shoppers.. it's good for your community, for the economy, and it is a way to recycle and keep the landfills less full! Women, in particular, buy clothes and sometimes don't even wear them,I have gotten Chico's and Black and White Market blouses with tags still on.
