If you are a seamstress, or wanting to be one (they have classes!) this little shop is worth checking out. My foray into sewing years ago proved that I need to stick to sewing buttons on and repairing small teares in garments. But . . . having said that . . . I was totally awed by the fantastic display of materials and finished projects. Some of the most beautiful cottons & wools. Colorful! Elegant! Eye catching. This evening I decided to head to the South Valley for some jewelry materials. I hadn't been to…read morethis Hobby Lobby for what I was looking for, and decided to give it a try. I usually go to Michael's or bead stores. In we went and I found the beads I was looking for. My husband was being helpful and got me the jump rings and earring hooks I also use. Right away, staff got on the intercom to have associates "scan" the jewelry aisle. We were the only people in that area. They proceeded to follow us around while I was trying to get the colors of beads needed. I decided to turn on my recorder and film, which I have to document this behavior. They then proceeded to say on the intercom that the Sheriffs office had been contacted and was on the way. I felt ready to have this interaction, knowing I had done nothing and was filming the incident. I finished shopping at that point, and just paid for my items and left. I don't know if it was my brown skin, the fact that I was buying plenty of supplies or what was the cause for them profile us. As a Native person, we give Hobby Lobby quite a bit of business, but I will not be recommending relatives to come here. This along with the footage will also be mentioned to Indigenous rights groups. F. Candle Co. I used to live within minutes of their factory - small world! I picked up this super soft Dwight Yoakam t-shirt for my significant other. He loved it. I also snatched a humorous farmer-inspired card. They have a ton of jewelry. Bags. Incenses. Other candles. Artwork. Books. Some children's books that looked highly interesting. For such a wide variety of items and so much of it I was surprised as to how easy it was to navigate. The young lady working the afternoon of 6/13/2023 was most amicable and accomodating.
