There's an admission fee, payable at the Visitor Center, which is well worth it for a sparkling clean and well-maintained trail (not even gonna talk about reparations but come on, let's do it, this fee is nothing in the overall picture.) Thanks to tropical storm Hilary and a rainier than usual winter/spring, the waterfall was incredible on my most recent visit. It's permitted to swim in the naturally formed pool underneath and swim people did, under the sycamores in a lovely shady area. The hike up can be a bit strenuous depending on the heat and the humidity; it is required to take at least two liters of water with you for the 2 mile round trip hike. Parking free in the lot. Highly suggested to visit as early as possible.

He wanted a retreat from the harsh winters back east. The Architect is Richard Neutra this is by far one of his famous works to date. He designed the house in 1946. There is no tours of this house. In fact it is private. You will see a no trespassing sign with armed alert. So whatever you do take pictures outside of the property. I cannot put other website links on this site. All my favorite restaurants are locatated in downtown, like Farm, Cheeky's, Wilma and Frieda, Al Dente, 849, and Tropicale to name a few, with so many more like Bongo Johnny's and Broken Yolk. I love strolling the shops like Best Bookstore and Tommy Bahamas.and checking out the Cahuilla museum gift shop.

These teams are not allowed use of electricity for their smokers, they can use wood, pellets, ect.... no propane either I believe. I had been to the previous location at La Quinta and I can honestly say that the Westin Location is much easier to get around in and the resort itself is quite lovely. Let's get to the food, after the judging is finished, public is then allowed in, some of the teams will then give out samples of their various meats such as brisket, pork ribs and chicken. Even though this is a public event don't go expecting to eat, it's more to check out the craft of smoking, buy some swag and if your inclined there are presentation/demonstrations that are put on- you can always find this information on kingofthesmoker.com which is updated accordingly as per event. The founder Sterling Ball (eccentric) started this competition and proceeds go to his non for profit caseylee ball foundation for pediatric kidney research. I'm lucky to know multiple judges, and was given a delicious leftovers pack to try, which I was then given an explanation of what to look for and expect when trying the food as is was laid out in sequence within the package from 1 though 6. The brisket was delicious! The only reason I'm not giving the event a 5 is that it's a straight up competition with demonstrations. It's not completely open to the public in my view. Come check it out next year, it's a good experience for any foodie.

LOL) We shared the Caesar and Mamma Gina salads, cheese ravioli w/ alfredo sauce, shrimp scampi and pasta bolognese. Everything was beyond wonderful! I noticed the restaurant closes at 9 so it was already interesting to see they were taking reservations past 815. We got there and were greeted very nicely. About 20 minutes past by and we were suddenly told by our host that hats weren't allowed in the restaurant. Everything was fine and dandy we tried to make ends meet and work around that. My bf left to get something more appropriate. Few things... it is not posted/listed on the restaurant establishment or website, OR YELP that there is any sort of dress code. We also weren't told while entering/before being seated about this "rule". Throughout the time waiting for my bf to figure something out, it felt very rushed to order. I am not here to complain about the rule, it just would've been nice to see it listed anywhere beforehand OR we could've been informed before sitting down. Mainly writing this review for others, especially those visiting from out of town of this "policy" before having an awkward/rushed experience. Hot. Golf. Resorts. Hotels. Vacation spot. Older residents…read more It's clean and safe, but not much else to offer that's unique other than a major Golf spot. It's so hot, that many of the places, other than hotels and major chain restaurants, are closed May-October. Snowbirds come from all over the country in the winter and spring, making it the ideal spot to come to for the weather. There's a small downtown called Old Town. It's an equivalent to 1-2 blocks, easy to walk, a handful of restaurants and breweries, and a few retail shops. I'm a fan because my Mom lives here.
