My wife had an appointment at Desert Pain Specialists today with Dr. Clements. When we first walked in, we were met with smiling front office staff at the front desk, all very professional as well. Within a few minutes we were taken back and met with Dr. Clements and his nurse. Also, both very professional and very respectful. He asked my wife about the debilitating pain she had been experiencing and offered a couple of options, one being a Cortisone injection into the lumbar spine where he believed the nerve root being pinched/irritated was. My wife had been in such debilitating pain, she couldn't eat, couldn't get a decent night's rest and wasn't her usual cheerful self. Within a short time she came out to the waiting room with that gorgeous smile I had been longing to see again for some time now. She tells me she could feel where the shot was placed, but the horrible, agonizing pain was gone. We went to lunch and she started crying and said she is so grateful for the excellent, compationate treatment she received from everyone who was involved in her care today. We've been to plenty of medical offices in the past, but none could begin to compare to Dr. Clements and his staff. I never said this before, but to Dr. Clements and his staff, take a bow. I will never go back. They did ky roplastic on my back 4 weeks ago. They didn't tell me it would be painful and didn't offer any antiseptic. I was in tears when they got done. I ask for a pain pill and they said they didn't have any. Went for a follow-up to see if everything was healing properly. Dr Said the xray wasn't good enough so he couldn't tell come back next month. Billings department is worse than the IRS my fiance is a 70 yr old patient and won't let him have a appointment until he clears a 150.00 bill. Heartless and . when he explained he is on a fixed income. Billings needs to be re -evaluated on customer sensitivity to inflation especially with billion dollar industry. read more

I have suffered from Back Pain since my 20s, and now in my 70s, after having back surgeries twice and since have been having injections to decrease my pain. have used three different doctors while in St. George. I highly highly recommend Dr. Steven Larsen recently, having recently seen him regarding pain across the small back when I stand. He told me about a fairly new called Intracept which is a one-time procedure that is done in a few minutes with no side effects as he explained the nerve is treated so it never causes pain in that area again. I attended an appointment for a relative and while I was there they were very rude and unprofessional. I was surprised they treated a patient so poorly that was in pain. They had a condescending and very belittling attitude. I wasn't the one being treated but from observing that appointment I would not recommend Courtney Bernardo to anyone. read more

They took care of my pain but then charged me more than my co pay and that is illegal. I told them I was paying in protest. Now I have to wait for the insurance company to pay them and then they said they will mail me a refund. If they don't send the check then I guess I contact the government because yep that is illegal to charge more then the co pay. These people are the BEST!! I pinched a nerve in my lower back Friday eve, so for two days, all Saturday and Sunday, I was bed ridden, I was in so much pain my girlfriend had to help me crawl back and forth from the bed to the bathroom. I called Desert Pain first thing Monday morning, told them my situation, and they actually had me come in that very morning, Dr Larsen was so kind and understanding, I could not believe how understanding and accommodating he was, he and his staff worked through their lunch hour to work me in so I could get a shot in my back and finally find some relief. These people are the best of the best, we should thank our lucky stars that we have such healthcare professionals as this in St George! Thank you Dr Larsen, and thanks to your team of amazing and kind professionals! I'm feeling so, so much better. I could not have asked for better care! I lived in St George/Santa Clara, from 1997 to 9/2015. I saw Dr Empey or Udy, during my last year in St. George. He was very art and caring, and he guided me to help my other Specialists step up in testing my multiple conditions. I was doing all the research I could, but I didn't know until 2016, that I have EDS-h !! Drs here, still know little about it; I've had to educate all of them. In addition, I have a bunch more of Mixed Connective Tissue Disorders. (And every symptom of Fibro that there is) Plus, a Chiari1. DDD. RA , OA, IBS-d. Pots, MCAS, the list goes on. Possibly also PM, DM, (myositis), Sjogrens, and more. I call it "Bad Gene Soup". I am 60 now, and chair-ridden. I have not seen an RH since I lived there, (and he was lame), because they don't take Medicaid. I'm treating the pain with Gabapentin, Prozac, Tizanadine, and Pain Management. I wish I could still see your practice. I have never been treated with such expertise. I thought Denver would have good medical care, but for 1 good MD, there are 30 or more Inept ones. And to have such a huge bunch of conditions, but keep being shuffled to. N. P. 's; It's very disheartening. I wish I could have stayed, and worked with you. My life really s*cks now. I came here after 2+ years of no answers or help at another practice. Dr. Wells is AMAZING! He literally gave me hope again! He took time to address all of my concerns while also giving me his honest opinion of what was causing my pain and how to fix it. Melissa Hinton has been amazing and my daughter wouldn't be where she is without her today. She goes above and beyond. She is very caring and listens. Angela the Office Manager however I've had to deal with over the years and she has been rude over the phone and makes me feel like trash. Always blaming everything on the insurance company and I havent seen compassion from her. Its very sad, they have such a great group of Drs but the Office Manager lacks compassion. I've been going to Desert Pain Specialist for years now, and I've been treated so well by every one that works there. I go there at least every 3 to 4 months. The staff there is amazing. My husband also goes to that's Desert pain specialist. They explain everything they're doing to you, explain all of your medications, and all of your procedures. Dr. Empey and his entire staff are the most compassionate, medically competent physicians not only in St George, but the country. I lived in St. George for several years, and moved away but I travel back to St. George because the care I receive from Dr. Empey changed my life. I have a genetic rare bone disease that presents with horrible chronic pain. Because of Dr. Empey I was virtually symptom free. He is skilled and progressive.
