This clinic just changed my treatment appointment for another six weeks. I am in pain but they don't seem to care. I am not angry with the foreign call center young lady, who at least spoke intelligible English. She was only doing what was written. If they really cared about their patients, they would keep their appointments. I live two hours from their Sierra Vista office and three hours from their Tucson office; but they don't care. Their foreign call center has no idea of the distances one must travel in Arizona. Do not go here!!!! Incompetent, thin skinned people. Called while in constant, 24-hour pain. They said I had to change my primary care doctor on my insurance card and get a referral to come there. Although I had already been to urgent care and received a referral. Constant pain and there was NOTHING they were going to do about it until I changed my primary care on my insurance card. After I did that, they said they didn't like my attitude and refused any service to me nor recommend any other provider. Health care in America priorities: 1) Profit 2) Bureaucracy compliance 3) Actual Health care ANYONE AND EVERYONE involved in the health care industry of America should be ashamed of themselves. Dirty office, pooly maintained. Unprofessional in every scene. Been 3 years of miserable care financially moved on.

The care here has been adequate. You get bounced around a lot among the providers as providers leave the practice or the doctors get too busy to see you. You get appointments to see nurses instead. Continuity has been difficult. You feel rushed through the appointment and feel no one is really paying attention to your care or hearing your complaints regarding your symptoms. Feel like you're just a product to get pushed along. The billing for the routine drug testing is outrageously priced. Was told the doctors prefer that particular drug testing company in another state. They try to charge you double copays and have to call almost each time to have the second one removed so be sure to watch your billing. After hours there is no one to talk to and told to go to ER or urgent care. Urgent care and ER tell you to see your provider. Fruitless way to try to get heard. Healthcare has become so fragmented and less caring through the years in general. Good luck to all and keep plugging away to get what you need. read more

Outstanding care! Desert Sky has completely changed my life. Dr. Jared Wilson and PA Ken Judkins III are the best pain management specialists I've ever seen and I've been in pain clinics for chronic back injuries since the 1990s. I feel the best I have in 30 years, since before my original injury. Dr. Wilson does the best epidural steroid injections of any doctor I've ever seen and I stopped counting after I got to 130 epidurals. Even better, Dr. Wilson recommended Radio Frequency Ablation, which actually solved the problem at L4/L5 and I haven't had a steroid injection since. That was 14 months ago. Ken manages my monthly care and he is one of the smartest people I've ever met. I'm a former pharmaceutical rep and Ken is smarter than most doctors I called on and is as knowledgeable about pharmaceuticals as any PharmD I've known. He's like a walking PDR (the drug encyclopedia). Ken is also one of the nicest people I've ever met. He and Dr. Wilson are both so sweet and kind, with their bedside manner. The staff is wonderful, too. I go to the Eastside office. I was previously a patient of Dr. Thomas Coury and received epidural injections from him and Dr. Khushvant Bhola. They are both excellent doctors. I just really hit it off with Dr. Wilson and Ken, so they became my primary team. You won't find better quality of care or nicer people than at Desert Sky. Some of the negative reviews may be during the time after my original DS physician tragically died. Dr. Coury was then alone, trying to see all his patients and all of his deceased colleagues' patients. There were definitely some growing pains and lots of problems with prescription refills, etc., until Dr. Coury could hire a bunch more doctors, PAs, NPs and staff. I can assure you, that in 2025, the office is running like a well-oiled sewing machine. So, please don't let any negative reviews discourage you. I've been a patient since 2022. Desert Sky also offers cutting edge treatments, such as PRP ( platelet rich plasma), for people who can afford to pay cash for that. Insurance won't cover it, but I would have gotten it, if I could afford it. They have tons of treatment options and will tailor a program to give you the best possible outcome. If you are a candidate for RF Ablation, absolutely do it. It's the greatest thing I've ever done for myself and the results are mind blowing. I had back surgery in NC in 2017, on the same discs, and it solved part of the problem, but not all. I only wish I had known about RFA sooner. As the nerves regenerate, the pain will return, I was told, but that hasn't happened yet and nerves grow very slowly. If/when it does, I'll get RFA done again and keep doing it as long as I need to. I read about a person told to drive himself to ER because of high blood pressure. The same thing happened to me but with blood oxygen levels. The nurse sent me to ER as well. I could barely walk by the time I left. I was barely able to drive myself. I've had a terrible time with their lack of communication and vindictiveness when I question things. I also think there is some deceptiveness with making notes that I was prescribed pain meds, when in fact I was not. Makes me wonder where that Rx went...? Another problem I had when reading the notes was the notation about "depression". This Dr. had no right or grounds to make this assumption about my mental health. In general, I have decided these "big box" pain places are not the thing for me. After 5 months I have nothing to show for my time going to Desert Sky except some low dosage pain meds. I heartly encourage anyone remotely considering going to this place to think very hard about it. I really wish I could give zero stars. read more

Today I phoned to request appt with Dr. Bholla for shoulder pain treatment. Was kept on the phone for 20 minutes with questions and details about my insurance. Although I tried to get information about appts. but was informed that I would need to make a notarized request for medical records from Dr. Bholla's previous place of employment. Horrible clinic and pain center. Nerve block never worked and they ask you not to call and leave multiple voice mails. Called twice after two visits and took 8-10 days for a call back. Said they gave me something for like light sleep (I think the nurse only gives you have and takes the other half of. the bottle home), I was totally awake the whole time. Doctor had no bedside manners and the PA very nice but could care less about your MRI or X-ray results. Had to go back to Radiology Limited twice because they sent in the wrong orders for my MRI. Bad, bad, bad and more bad. I gave them 1 star because zero is not an option. read more

My surgeon sent a referral to Desert Sky Spine & Pain for assessment of my lower back pain post hip replacement surgery. I followed up to make the appointment. The lady that I spoke with obviously was new and had no idea what her job required. Asked me the same questions over and over, all answers were also on the referral! She said my supplemental insurance was expired which it is definitely not! The call ended after over 30 min and I still have no appointment! so so so unnecessary and frustrating. read more

I see P.A Kenneth Judkins, he's by far the best provider, I have ever seen! This provider isn't just going to prescribe medications and forget about you. Further, ones diagnosis must warrent treatment ones requesting. He's ethical beyond measure. He's very detailed, I could easily ask him about a small detail of my care over the years; he would recall what we did and the results. I have been seeing Ken for over a half a decade. I have followed him, when his office was sold leading him to this office. P.A Kenneth Judkins, understands his patients needs and spends time with his patients. I have recommended several people in my own family to see for him. Here's a few examples my husband has spondylitis and he sees Ken for joint injections and my cousin-in-law has back issues and she changed her provider to see Ken and said the office visit was night and day to compared to her old provider. She's now scheduled to get a few back injections. Finally, Kenneth also helped me discover a new hobby to help with my mental health and my range of motion. I never would have NEVER considered taking up painting, I didn't consider myself artistic, but I gave it a shot. I loved it, and I'm not half bad. P.A Kennth Judkinsn is a God send. If you're looking for a talented pain specialist with empathy this is your guy! Here's the only issue with this office, it's often difficult to navigate the front desk and scheduling and prior-Auths. Horrible Pain Center. Met with the PA once, had me to go Radiology LTD to get x-rays & MRI of my neck and back. Of course the correct orders were sent in and had to wait 3. weeks to get MRI of my lower back. When I met with PA Felix she assured me once they had the x-rays and MRI they could get me in for shots within 24-48 hours. My pain in my shoulder was so bad woke me up at 3am. I've been eating Tylenol like MM"s. Today she is booked about 3 weeks and will not let me talk to her. Her MA is to call but not holding my breath, although if I die I guess no more shoulder pain? I'm looking for a pain specialist anywhere in Tucson. Everyone I look has horrible reviews in Tucson as well. Any suggestions? I need help will drive. to Scottsdale if need be....... read more

Highly recommend Desert Sky Spine & Pain for treatment . today I had a steroid injection for my bulging disk I've had since 1974 from abuse of my ex. I'm a Holistic healer and minister. Believe in natural methods when possible. Blend Western and Eastern healing with a holistic approach yet alive because of modern technology and heart surgery. The stress of the pain has been causing tachycardia events. Maureen Bay NP, Dr. Wilson and the staff here are all friendly and courteous. They informed me of everything clearly. And because of their excellent care and listening to me I know what I am now dealing with. In 2020 I learned both medical and identity had been stolen. My medical history replaced with someone else's. Desert Sky & Pain staff all listened and treated me based on current MRI. Referred me to an excellent Physical Therapist Clinic. Noticed MRI indicated I need a CT scan for what is most likely the reason for my stomach issues. Not on my spine. Thanks to Maureen Bay and her team, they have helped me get my pain under control referring me to Physical Therapy, and advising me of my options for the pain I had grown accustomed too. No side effects either. That was my big concern. Once the heaviness I was warned of subsided I really didn't feel much different. Except the cooling of the antiseptic felt nice and cooled down the problem area I was getting the injection for! I followed instructions. Came home and am resting. If you've been in pain so long you; too have become accustomed to it? Ask your PCP to refer you to Desert Sky Spine and Pain for treatment, they are professional and compassionate. They help even when you don't think anyone can. For all the seniors in pain, I'm glad I had the steroid injection. I know it'll take awhile to spread and work, but I've had that bulging hotspot waking me at night far too long. And the pain of the injection passed as quickly as the heaviness. And C5/6 been bulging since 1974! And it doesn't feel like the hotspot it was before the injection over 3 hrs ago. Old age reminds seniors of all injuries of the past. Dr. Wilson and PA Candance Felix are both great. I have Rheumatoid and Osteoarthritis. I had so much pain in my hand I couldn't do the things I loved any longer. Dr. Wilson gave me a shot in my hand and within a few days I was able to see and embroider agin without pain. The doctors and PAs here are all so caring. They are my go to for pain management. Update: I chose to stay with this practice because the doctors' treatments have helped me a lot. Everyone at the Wilmot office is friendly and helpful. I haven't needed to phone again so I don't know if their phone system has been fixed. Supposedly the "cancelled treatment" was a glitch between the office and the insurance company. I'm only giving 2 stars because my nerve ablation DID give me some pain relief. But if I could give negative stars for communication in that office location I certainly would! Numerous times I was told by the front office staff they would call me "and let me know" when I had questions with answers they didn't have at that time, they never did. When I tried to call the office to get the answers...i could never get thru, you cant call the office directly, you have to go through the central scheduling...then they said they would send the message through to the office...no reply ...EVER from anyone! The whole experience of communication with this office was absolutely horrible!! I do have to say I used to do referrals for a family practice in town..I personally have done referrals to this place ...had I known then the quality of care our patients could of experienced here (based on the poor quality of care I personally received ) I would of referred them elsewhere. So, in short....yes they are fully capable of giving their patients the pain relief they are desperately seeking, but incapable of doing it with ease or professionalism. I had a Dr, he left before I ever got to see him, then I had another saw him only twice and then didn't see anyone then I was assign a Nurse Practitioner and now after seeing her Twice she's gone - and every visit was pee in a cup see whom ever for 5 minutes and get charged $400 - of course insurance picked up $300 but still had to pay $100. Do not go here. They do not answer phones, it goes to voice mail and they do not call back. Trying to make an appointment is very difficult. The office is dirty. I had an appt with Lisa payne in a room that seemed like it doubled as a storage closet. Lisa was suggesting treatments that are not covered by insurance, not fda approved and not proven to help and when I said that they were expensive she replied * not as expensive as surgery* I was not planning on any surgery so not sure why this was mentioned. Lisa told me I was on too high of a dose of pain medication to be accepted as a patient there so to go back to my primary care doctor. I got a call the same day from an addiction treatment clinic called lucid lane that Lisa payne sent my info and a referral to. How could she release my info without my permission? Especially when she would not accept me as a patient? What authority or right did she have to do so? I decided to do a search for her name to see if there had been other complaints about her. There are videos on tiktok, Instagram and YouTube of her behaving in a manner I would think should have been set to private or never posted online. Her drunk in a bikini dancing standing on a toilet and falling off and almost hitting her head and many other similar things that doesn't seem like I would want a doctor doing anything to my back or spine participating in or at least posting about publicly online. There was also a medical board complaint against her when she was a RN in Alaska that was founded and she was disciplined for. I would not ever go back to this pain management clinic again. read more

Left my previous pain management provider, Grant and wilmot--- horrendous after going there 7 years. Lisa Payne, NP is beyond fantastic. A couple of weeks ago I had my first epidural with Desert Sky/ Dr Coury and went with conscious sedation. The procedure was beyond 5 stars. Using light sedation Dr was able to go through the side of my neck and more accurately hit the right spot. There was zero pain due to the sedation after a decade of having to endure the epidural without sedation/pain meds. The care during the procedure was top notch and after a 15 minute recovery I was able to have my friend drive me home. And it gets better. The effectiveness of the procedure was far beyond any other I've had. I was waking up without pain and not having to reach for meds for the first time in many years. The level of relief has lasted about 2 1/2 weeks and I'm starting to get mild symptoms returning. I'm still far far better off than I have been and that with damage rated severe after a recent MRI. I have my follow up with Lisa next week and we'll evaluate the results and when to schedule the next epidural. Again, this was my first procedure with Dr Coury and I'm looking forward to my follow up and scheduling my 2nd epidural I have no idea why people are scoring this practice so low, especially considering the horrendous service I was receiving from my previous pain management provider. I'm not going to let a voicemail issue leave a practice. My care, treatment and results are what will keep me at Desert Sky spine and sports. I'm very grateful for taking a risk and leaving my previous provider. read more

I spoke to Ashley on Friday Sept 9, 2022 for several questions for my doctor, she promised a call back with the answers, which hasn't happened as of Sept 15. and I have an upcoming appointment on 9/16. going to be a waste of time, but they will get paid for the office call none the less. they have a horrible answering service. there is no real human answering the phone, just leave a message, which never gets called back. it took over a month to get an any one to call back to set up first appointment. first appointment with the provider went well. however, I received a call from a random heart doctor as they sent a refer which was not discussed during visit. read more

Chronic back pain First two visits I had with Dr Wilson. Those two visit were by far excellent and I had such high hopes that finally I found someone that was going to help me out. Third visit I was passed off to a Physician Assistant Judy who came in and started an evaluation, that was confusing, I thought that Doctor had already done that. She jerked my legs up causing excessive pain. I had come in with a pain level of an 8, so why? I'll Never go there again their PA ruined it and their administration never handles any issues. So I'd like to go someplace that actually cares about their patients and not only the patients that will accept shots! Will not be treated by such mean inconsiderate people. If you don't want shots this isn't the place for you. PA knew the reason for the visit and still proceeded to man handle me and then barked at me over not going to do the shots. I was referred to them from another provider in Oregon in 2020. Dr Rabe provided excellent care on the two occasions I went to them over a 2 year span. Administratively, the staff seemed capable. Things seemed to change after Dr Rabe's death. I cannot get phone calls answered or messages responded to. When I first went to Desert Sky Spine & Pain I was highly satisfied. Dr's Rabe and Coury helped my low back pain. Since Dr Rabes death, there are many providers. Lisa helped once, but a recent visit with her seemed disjointed, I could hardly get info from her about my options. Another time, I saw Dr Prust and there were no other patients in the parking lot or wauting room, but I waited nearly an hour while listening to him talking on the phone. When he entered, he did not apologize for disrespecting me and wasting my time. Recently I went in and the receptionist required that I wear a mask and provided onr, while hers was below her nose and mouth. Now I cannot get scheduled for my next procedure and will have to seek services elsewhere. They seem to have fallen apart when Dr Rabe died. read more

As a brand new patient, I was incorrectly assessed a $25 Late Fee. Seeing that we had a difference of opinion over a very small amount, I wrote a letter to the doctor suggesting a gentlemanly compromise and offered to meet in the middle where I'd immediately pay $12.50. Their office totally ignored my letter and when I called a short time later, was told they were not interested in any kind of compromise and that I was responsible for the full amount. Seems to me this doctor is more interested in money than he is in helping people. Glad I'm no longer a patient. read more

These people are an absolute joke! First off, in scheduling an appointment, they schedule me for late March. Okay... they're busy. I understand. I let my primary care physician know and she tells me she'll fix it for me. The next morning I get a call from these people and, low an behold, they have an opening for the 2nd at 3:15. Great! I just want to get my back treated. My PCP (primary care physician) Set me up with a ride to and from and everything is wonderful. Then this morning, I get a call reading me the riot act about how they don't prescribe drugs and I'm fine with that. Been that route and don't want to do it again. The opiates, albeit they do work, there come with their own problems... which I was also treated for. But this guy has such a pretentious, condescending tone, like he didn't believe me. So I explained again that I wasn't looking for drugs. I just want my back pain to go away, more firmly this time and everything seemed fine. Then, this afternoon at 2:15, just at my Lyft driver is texting me to tell me they're 5 minutes away and to please wait outside. I grab my medical records, my cane and hurry outside. Just as the driver turns into the drive way, Desert Sky calls and tells me they don't want to treat me. How lovely. I wouldn't let these clown within an foot of my spine! If I could, I'd sue them. But.... oh well. Live and learn. And tell others about the experience so they can avoid the aggravation. read more

Wish I could give 0 star. Got referred here for a pain pump. First visit went OK w NP, Lisa, basically explaining the next steps to qualify for procedure. First I had to pass a neuropsych eval. She also recommended I take a collagen supplement for my joints. I went home and researched the pain pump and all possible complications, besides other information. I made a list of questions for our next session. Went back in 1 month later, she couldn't answer my questions--appears to be poorly educated on pain pumps. She got flustered and her answer was, "there are risks w any procedure". When I asked why the collagen supplement, her answer was "all my NP friends are recommending it and it's good for you" As a retired Registered Dietitian, I did my research about collagen supplements and I told her the research is biased, sketchy and done by the supplement companies. Can she show me credible research for this supplement? I asked her if she did the research before recommending it to patients. Her tone was disparaging and stated "Well you can wave your Master's degree around....." I was shocked. I have never been so disrespected by anyone before as a patient. She didn't even know the possible side effects and was telling every one to take this supplement. Then she got nasty, and asked if I still wanted the pain pump. I said our discussion has nothing to do w me not wanting to go forward w this trial. I went home and decided I needed to talk to Dr Coury and get my questions answered. I called, waited on hold 5 min and it rolls over to VM. I left a message explaining I did not get the proper answers from Lisa and needed to get my questions answered by the Dr. "Can he call me, or do we need to set up a telehealth appt, or do I need to come back in?" 2 days go by, no return phone call. I repeat the same thing and call once more which again rolls over to VM.So far 2 calls have never been returned. The staff disrespects their patients and ignores their phone calls. What if I was having a real problem that needed immediate relief. No one would ever call me back. I say stay away from this place. read more
