First time trying this establishment. The menu has a wide variety. It can be hard to choose. I am…read morehappy with my choices. I recommend giving this place a try. This is what I had: Samosa: 3/5 stuffed with potato and peas could have had more flavor Roti: 3/5 buttery taste and firm in foundation, softer is warmed up a bit Apollo Fish: 4/5 Crispy, juicy, bursting with flavors from the sauce added to it. The flavor profile is savory, not really spicy or sweet. More one note in favor layers. I do wish it had more layers of flavor. Peneer Biryani: 5/5 the basmati rice was cooked to order. Very fresh and hot. The flavors are layered from savory to spicy. The paneer was firm and seemed to be fried on the outside. it was quite a bit of the paneer pieces throughout the dish. I do look forward to trying a few more dishes. Service was good as well.

Heard there was a new food truck at the Nest in Melissa and it was Indian so of course I had to go…read moretry it out. I went on a Friday afternoon before normal school pick up. I was obviously the only customer there which was nice. The lady at the food truck was initially very friendly; I found out about the food truck on the Melissa FB page and was given a number to text and a menu. I was hoping when I got there there would be some sort of pictures corresponding with the food or at least someone who could explain what they were; but there wasn't. Her English was not that great and of course I do not speak hers so it was very difficult trying to get some of the items explained. I had planned of ordering almost everything but I wasn't sure about some of the items because I wasn't familiar with what it was. I asked her to pick out two different appetizers and a Dilkush Chicken Dum Biryani bowl. I knew what the biryani was; also some samosas. She ended up ordering me the two I requested and for the appetizer she just ordered be two of the same, later I found out it was the chicken pakoda. I had mentioned about having pictures or at least a description of some of the food items. I do eat Indian food a lot but I don't know the traditional names of things. Later when making this review I was adding the business and saw the website on the truck and there is a very nice website of the food they offer; it doesn't have descriptions but the pictures explain a lot. Also I went back to see if they had a FB website to add and they didn't; but the person who initially made the post had added a picture menu instead of just writing it. So kudos there. That definitely will help out in the future. Back to the food; I also got a tea which was delicious. It didn't take incredibly too long for my food to come out but it did take a minute. Also it came out separately rather than all at once; and on top of that they forgot my samosas; thankfully I always check my orders. I ended up having to leave to go get my kid from school. So for the real review the food. Everything was very tasty. The biryani bowl was spicy which I love; very hefty portion size. The chicken appetizers were tasty as well; samosas were amazing. All sauces were good as well. No complaints on the food end. I gave four stars only because of my customer service experience there. I thought about giving 3 but the food was really good and try hard to just give reviews based on the food. So a four I felt was fair. I'm glad they added pictures to the FB post. I really feel they should start out with "look at our menu on our website" that would've been really helpful. Because there isn't one on their truck; and definitely have someone there that can explain the items. All in all great food truck just wasn't my favorite food truck experience. Still will give them another try.

A first rate Indian restaurant…read more They call themselves Nepali. And the entrepreneurs may easily be Nepali. In the US, calling yourself a Nepali restaurant means taking a standard North Indian menu and adding momo and some Chinese dishes. In Nepal, they eat a lot more than momo. Mountainous regions in poor countries often use forms of protein that Americans don't particularly care for. (Fill in the blanks yourself on this one.) Doing that in the U.S. would be commercial suicide. At one time, Mount Everest had goat intestine on the menu. Goat intestine is relatively un-shocking given other items that Nepalis hunt or butcher and eat. The goat intestines did not sell well and had to be removed from the menu. So mostly what you get here is a plain old North Indian restaurant. Fortunately, Mount Everest is a very good plain old North Indian restaurant. * * * The headline story here is spice. A. Lots of it. B. Not your standard Anglo-Indian curry house spice mixes. I ordered my eggplant with a heat of 4. A heat of 5 is their !!NUCLEAR!! option. 4 is their "Commands Respect- Listen to Me Baby" level. Mount Everest's 4 is most other Indians restaurants 38. Steam came out of ears. Steam came out of eyes. I was amazed my metal container was able to hold that dish. I set a Grayson County speed record for most Naan consumed in the shortest amount of time ... As vast amounts of naan were stuffed into my flaming mouth to lower the temperature. * * * I LOVED IT. I WOULD DO THAT AGAIN IN A NEW YORK MINUTE. * * * If molten lava isn't your thing Ordering your food with a heat of 0 or 1 Will give you a nice lovely very mild dish. Mount Everest caters to all tastes. * * * The spicing here is unusual. This particularly shows up in the salty lassis. I couldn't tell you what the flavor combo was. But it was intriguing and wonderful. That is another dish I would order in a New York minute. * * * Speaking of non-New-York topics, Mount Everest does its best to fit into a Texas-Oklahoma aesthetic. There is a pool table. For all I know, Texoma is full of Indian restaurants with pool tables. But that was the first time, I had ever seen such a thing. They have country-western style decoration, and guitars on the walls to help set a mood. They serve cold beer. I am not used to Texas Ice Houses that also serve Tikka Masala and Aloo Chana. But this is a concept I could definitely learn to like. * * * Overall, this is a first rate establishment. And if you want enough inner fire to be able to climb the Himalayas without wearing a parka, Order any dish with a heat of 5. The snow will melt on either side of you as you pass.

Greeted by a young man who could not have been more pleasant. Even though we got there 10 minutes before they closed for the to go order they never made me feel like we were imposing. Had everything from samosas, Naan, chicken vindaloo, tandoori shrimp masala and aloo gobi. Everything was absolutely delicious with generous portions. Nice to see a small family operation turning out such wonderful cuisine. The sauces showed years of knowledge and hours of preparation. I am not any sort of expert on indian food, but much of what I've had depends on heat for flavor. This had so much flavor with just the right amount of spice to get you reaching for tissues for your runny nose as you grab for another helping of food. As usual, you can get an added level of pain if you want which was right up my alley. Encourage you to consider this establishment if you are in the area or willing to make a short trip that will take your taste buds to another land.
