Just before a recent hurricane, I noticed that there was some leaking around some windows that turned out to be related to wood rot. Additionally, I've been struggling with rot issues around a pool closet that wasn't all that well designed. I filed a request with Mr. Handyman and Chad (the owner) promptly responded. Once again, I found Chad and the whole team at Mr. Handyman to be fantastic. He listened carefully to the concern, evaluated the issues and came up with the most cost-effective solutions. He made sure he set expectations in advance of scheduling the work and carefully chose his people that had the right skill set to do the job perfectly. Speaking of the right skillset -- Steven, the lead technician on the job, was just phenomenal to work with. Have you ever met someone who just really knows their stuff and makes you feel at ease? That's Steven in a nutshell. He's worked in all aspects of construction and it shows in his confidence and the quality of his work. He kept me in the loop throughout the entire job and made sure I was completely satisfied. Additionally, I had relayed some struggles I was having caring for my elderly father, and he was a sympathetic ear - offering some advice and ultimately assuring me that he had my back on the house repairs so that I could focus on helping my Dad. There are just not enough people like Steven in the world. He is a rockstar. Additionally, I'd be remiss if I didn't mention Dylan, who helped assist Steven, he too was extremely professional and worked hard to help keep to the timeframe quoted. Ultimately, the job was completed in a timely and professional manner. The quality of work was fantastic and I couldn't be more pleased. I would not hesitate to hire 'Mr. Handyman' again in the future and would recommend their services to anyone.

Phil responded and gave me a couple quotes based on photos I sent but gave a realistic expectation that he would need to see the piece in person due to the damage being against the grain to see if an in-home touch up could be done or if the entire surface would need to be refinished (no one else I contacted even mentioned this and some charged for an in person evaluation which Adam's Furniture Repair doesn't). He came and evaluated the piece and we decided to do an in home touch up which I'm really pleased with! I've had this piece since I was a child so it has sentimental value as well as being a quality piece. He also did a couple smaller fixes on two other pieces of furniture I had. He's very knowledgeable about wood furniture repairs and wouldn't hesitate to recommend him!

Not only did they repair the broken leg that I brought it in for, but they also fixed the other two legs, noticing that they were in need of repair as well. The price was exactly what I have been quoted, which was very reasonable. The staff was courteous, respectful, and knowledgeable. They even identified the wood that the base was made out of for me, noting the tables quality.

I needed a simple toilet wax seal replacement, a half-hour job, but when Hunter pulled the toilet,…read morehe noticed standing water in the waste pipe. He asked if I had any backup issues. I had observed none recently. On further investigation, I did have a serious wastewater backup. I suspected that it was due to Comcast installing fiber optics in the neighborhood, drilling in the area of water/sewer pipes. So, the rest of the afternoon, Hunter worked with a camera and an auger to locate the blockage. He located it, but it was the lateral under my neighbor's driveway, which needed to be resolved by the utility company. Hunter asked me to let him know the outcome. It turned out to be a big deal. Indeed, the clay pipe was broken by Comcast's subcontractor drilling to install fiber duct. So, I knew there would be finger-pointing the like. I got it resolved, after a call to the PSC and a lot of back-and-forth. Sunshine Water sucked out the sewer and repaired the cracked pipe. I texted Hunter when the repair was complete, sending him photos of the cracked Clay pipe. I had shared his report with Sunshine Water, which gave them confidence in locating the break. This was very helpful because they couldn't get a camera in there due to the pipe being full of *(**&*&*. After I texted Hunter, he called me to ask how it went. I gave him the lowdown. In my long experience with home repair contractors and service companies, I have rarely encountered employees like Hunter. He left a job with loose ends beyond his control, but he cared enough about the job to want to know how it was resolved. Please thank him for me. And if I need plumbing services in the future, Modern Plumbing Industries is who I'll be dealing with.
