Called them up, got the dimensions, call back Pam at Anmarcos and placed our order. Pam kept us apprised every step of the way on the status of our order, they even delivered it weeks before the expected delivery date! Pam at Anmarcos even arranged for the table to be delivered much closer to our home in Vancouver when enroute from the factory. We are thrilled with our new table, the look, and especially the quality. Most of all, we are thrilled with the outstanding level of customer service we got from Pam and Anmarcos. Fantastic customer service is such a rarity these days so we felt it important to point our experience out.

We have purchased furniture twice from G&H. The salesperson some people complained about is the…read moreowner, Mr. Sandu. He can keep his prices low because he is not paying a salesperson commission. If you go into the store knowing what you want, what you will pay and you are prepared to have fun bargaining with him, it will be an enjoyable experience. However, most people are not used to this type of negotiating and Mr. Sandu's behaviour can seem offensive. He sells the same furniture as several other stores in the area, but you can get a good price on his furniture if you bargain. We figure you can save around 20%. You just have to have thick skin and be willing to walk away. We bought a sectional that he advertised for $1599 (supposedly originally $2,800) and we got it for $1,399. BTW, he shepherded us out of the store for "just-looking". He has two floors and no time for tourists in his store.

Although the manager's aggressive sales manner was annoying, we bought a mattress set with a verbal promise from him of a free bed frame to sweeten the deal. The bed frame never arrived and Sukh denied that it was part of the deal. He wouldn't allow us to take a photo of the mattress set we ordered and his handwriting on the invoice was illegible. The set was not what we experienced in the store but we can't prove it. We were totally "played" by this very dishonourable man. I wish we had read the reviews prior to entering this business. Although we had initially planned to return and purchase additional items, this store will obviously receive no further business from us.

There was one man there obviously with a customer couple so we approached a woman sitting behind a desk. She looked up and said nothing. No "hello". Not one word to us. It was if we didn't exist. The man saw us too but said nothing to us. A simple, "I am busy right now but will be with you" would have been great. But NOTHING. Zip. Nada. The woman behind the desk could have said the same thing "the salesman is busy but...". The couple shopping were obviously embarrassed as if they wanted to acknowledge us. So, we left. Unbelievable. We support our local businesses but in this case we warn everyone to not waste your time and do not support this business. Customer service goes a long way. We went to another locally owned store, gave them our load of money and bought appliances from a happy, professional, customer service oriented person.

Lisa greeted us after we entered the store and was pleasant, engaging, personable and informative…read more She got to know us and guided us to what we were initially looking for and offered information about particular types of chairs that were most suitable to our height and size (which we did not realize was as important or relevant as it was - who knew recliners were so involved?!). She showed us just the right amount of options (not overwhelming but included size, height, rocking or not, electronic or manual features, etc.) and helped demonstrate the options of the different chairs and also helped us choose a chair best suited to our needs and a colour best suited to our decor (based on the options available). We're new to the Courtenay/Comox area and she even gave us a little helpful information about living in the area and some of the local background. As sales people go - she was perfect. Very aligned with us, our tempo, style and personality. A great experience and we're greatly looking forward to our new, very comfortable chair! If they don't have the chair you want in the colour you want, they will order it (you choose from the available options) and it will be made to your specifications. Our only regret is that we have to wait for our new comfy chair to be delivered :-)
