Hubs comes here all the time for his glasses (not exam - just frames). Great service & very friendly. They always remember him & he always finds something he likes. Terrible service! We made an appointment by phone, made sure about time. They made it overlapped, even worse, just said sorry but this customer made an appointment earlier than you. That means they didn't check their appointments, just got every bookings. Should wait 3 people in front of me ( we should be the first customer, I am surely check multiple times about it) Also asked twice whether buy glasses or not. My kids don't like their frames , we decided to go other place for buying. It felt like pressures. We will not go there again. Terrible service! read more

After a wonderful lunch at A&J, the Ms & I hopped into my car and drove 3 seconds down the street to Design Vision Center. I'm looking to buy a cool prescriptive shades. Summer is coming and I wanna a new pair of shades to protect my eyes from the dangers of UV rays and just to look COOL. Design Vision Center is a Korean establishment and I can only shop eyeglasses at a Korean store. Because of my big asian coconut head with a wide face and a flatter nose, I can't go to an american eyeglass place. American place only carry frames that are more suited to caucasian face with a narrow head and a pointier nose. Am I right, all you 4 eyes asian guys out there? You know what I'm talking about. What sucks about Korean eyeplaces are they don't accept health insurance. I don't know any that do accept health insurance. The service is okay, the lady tried very hard to find a pair of frames for me. She also showed me with her calculator how much the glasses would be with the 40% discount on particular design frames. The selection of frames have gone down since few years ago and they didn't have the style that looked cool on my face. I will try their different location in Maryland in the future. I'm not in a hurry yet. I did give 3 stars because she fixed my loose screws on my current shades for free. read more

The worst. I came here with my family to potentially get my mom a pair of glasses for her birthday. My mom specifically wanted to look at Korean frames to see if they would better fit her face so we decided to stop by. As soon as we walked in to browse frames, the taller lady pushed hard to sell glasses. She would insert her opinion and recommendation before my mom even had a chance to look at the selection or try them on. I appreciate recommendations but not when they feel suffocating and pushy. We realized later that the lady immediately took us to the more expensive section of frames that were $200+. I didn't mind as much because I wanted to get my mom something nice but my mom did being the frugal person she is. We ended up ordering frames + lens through them because they kept insisting the eye exam would be free although my mom already had a prescription at home and just wanted to get frames. The shorter older lady insisted she would ship it directly to my parents' home because they live 2.5 hrs away for a fee. However, my mom wanted to make sure they fit well and that the prescription fit her eyes so she said she would come back when they were ready. My dad was also there at the time and having worn progressive lens for many years, asked if she could mark the line for the reading lens part lower as he had trouble seeing while driving at times. She immediately snapped back saying "We will handle all of that. We know what we're doing." She did not take the time to mark where her pupils are like other places and we all thought it was strange. My family was turned off but I decided to be patient as it was for my mom who needed glasses asap. We were told to come back the following Sunday (1 week later). A week later my mom called to see if the glasses were ready before making the drive and was told in a very condescending tone that her lens take a long time to make and that it will take a few weeks. I was annoyed as we were told to come back the following Sunday and also because larger companies have quicker turnaround times but decided to (again) be patient with the process as they are a small business. Three weeks went by and nothing. My mom called again and was told it would be a few more days. Four weeks and nothing. Five weeks went by and I finally had enough. I called to check on the status of the order and was told it was not ready. I asked to cancel the order because over a month had passed. She was apologetic at first but insisted I wait a few more days until she finally agreed to cancel the order and hung up. The next thing I know, the owner had called my dad immediately after hanging up with me to negotiate half price if we wait a few more days when I was the one who had paid and called to cancel the order. When my dad called back after finding out the situation to cancel the order, the lady suddenly claimed she couldn't cancel because she didn't know the card number used for the purchase. The fact that she claimed that meant - one, that she didn't intend to cancel my order from the beginning when I initially called and/or two, that she was trying to make it more difficult/delay cancelling the order. I immediately called back and provided my card number used for purchase. She then called my dad AGAIN to tell him she will need to charge $40 for the eye exam. I was livid considering she had pushed the "free eye exam" to get us to purchase the lens through them although my mom already had a prescription and ended up spending over $500 (with "discounts" from $800). We were never given a paper prescription nor were we able to get the glasses ordered within a reasonable time frame so how did this $40 make sense? Throughout the entire process, there were so many red flags that I ignored all because I wanted to get my mom a nice pair of glasses for her birthday. But after my experience here, I would not recommend them to anyone. read more

Poor knowledge and very rude. The female optometrist who was really short was very rude. She had this attitude of "if you are not spending at least $200 in my store get out". They will try to rip you off by selling you a pair of $10 glasses for $200 plus tax. I found the exact same glasses they were selling online. The short optometrist will take advantage of you especially if she thinks that you are indecisive. She will try to sell you unnecessarily expensive pairs and charge you service fees for helping you. What?? Also if you go there for contact lenses you will have the most sketchy experience ever. They charge you $100 for examining your eyes and charge you another $500 for the lenses. I was able to get the same pair for one third of the price they offered at other place. The place smells like rotten mold. Presentation of the shop is filthy not to mention about the unknown stacked boxes and trash in the back of the counter. MUST AVOID. read more

this store carries expensive eye deigners glass/sun glasses like Coach, Prada, Michael Khors, and more. but there is some cheap options u can choose. I remember buying 1 sunglass from here and within a yr i lost em. so if your into fasion or looking for stylish sunglasses this one is for you. They don't accept insurances for eye exams but i recommend if you try Galleria Optical at 7100 officebuilding they are the professionals. I have been their loyal customer since early 2000 when they had a branch in MD. Well, I have moved on to a another Optical retailer. I recently replaced my lenses with them with a new prescription. But unfortunately the prescription was too strong for me to wear. Had to get a lower prescription from the original prescription. 100% of time every other optical centers will replace the lenses at no cost if the Optometrist changes the prescription within 60-90 days. ( I called 10 days later ) For that reason the lenses are mad expensive to cover the cost if circumstances arises, and the lens labs contractors know it happens all the time. It's one of the Optical office ethics and policy...moral principles. This does not apply to Design vision center, You are given one choice, to pay again. As a consumer we need to be aware of people who takes us for granted. Never again will I return to this establishment. read more

This is my go to place when I need to get more lens. They keep a fairly large assortment stocked so I'm never worried that they don't have my lens. I come here a lot more than actually going to my eye doctor to pick up lens because of that reason. I tend to neglect the fact that I'm running low on lens til I've basically run out and my normal doctor always has to put an order in. This place is a great alternative. The ladies working are always so friendly and helpful. They even give me color lens to try out sometimes to see if I like them before I come back and buy more. I highly recommend coming here if you need to pick up contact lens. They have a pretty large show room for glasses too if you need them . I hate wearing glasses so I've never really looked around at those. read more

If you are looking for stylish frames, they have a great selection (especially for those with the smaller asian noses...lotsa plastic frames with nosepieces...very comfy). They carry Korean brands along with the usual high-end brands. The Korean brands are very, very reasonably priced, and range from classic to very cool looks. I have a very high Rx and needed a 1.74 index lense with all the usual coatings. The total cost was less than what I paid last time at Lens Crafter (even with LC's sale price). They don't take insurance, but see if your insurance will reimburse you or use your HSA. The staff don't speak too much English, but are nice. And it took less than a week to get the glasses made. :) read more

WORST OPTOMETRIST EVER!! NEVER GOING BACK!! Other staff were nice but the optometrist was extremely rude. I took my father to get eyeglasses and we had the worst experience. This is a Korean business in a Korean community and the optometrist was being very rude to my father during the eye exam because he doesn't speak English. She was saying things to my father and threw his eyeglasses on her desk. Good thing I saw her behavior. I approached the owner but they just said she's being cranky because she's sick.
