A few years ago I would have passed by this store without batting an eyelash, but now that I'm a grownup (condo owner, married woman) I'm kind of digging the home stuff. I still haven't found use for all those purty trays, pitchers, and other home accessories we acquired for our wedding, but have to admit I thought about adding to the location from Design Warehouse. Design Warehouse has a nice collection of home stuff. Some of it I've seen in Bloomies, Neimans, and other home department stores...some of it I saw for the first time. So yeah...a good destination for all you fellow grownups out there in Santa Fe! read more

This was an awesome find... walking through town. If you're a design geek or fancy modern / cool looking gadgets and stuff... this is the place for you. Pantone mugs... design oriented gadgets... uber cool! Pricey... but what do you expect with anything design oriented. My favorite store in Santa Fe. It would be Alessi's hideout if he ever came to visit. Santa fe is known for all it's art galleries per square mile, and this place is a modernist/contemporary lover's delight. Everything here screams modern, from the eames chair, and different versions of the eames chair, to awesome soap from portugal. +furniture- modern and contemporary. Most things can be customized with different colors and fabrics to fit your decor +housewares- all the famous modern designers: alessi Umbra etc. you'll probably find here + modern knick-knacks- a plenty I usually come out with something. The staff here is friendly and helpful. Can't wait to come back again! read more

*Please note that this is a review for placing orders from their website: DesignWarehouse.com not the physical store * Yes, this site has many cool and unique things to offer and the shipping policy is very good. However, I browsed the site and saw a lovely item that I just had to have. Shortly after purchasing my item, I was sent an email saying that the product was out of stock and that it would take 1-3 weeks to be in stock again. I patiently waited (even though I was mildly irritated because the item was not listed as out of stock). By the time 3 weeks arrived I called the store. They told me it would take an additional week for it to be in stock. Another week rolled by and they said that they had no idea when the item would be back in stock and did not even bother to email or contact me. Almost 2 months later and with no word on where my item was I had to call up and cancel my order. They did not even send a confirmation email. Buyers beware!! Do not purchase items online from this store!! Only after you order an item will you then be notified if the item is in stock. That will also be your only communication from them. A buyer should be aware if the item is available or out of stock before purchasing and should also be contacted if waiting over a month or longer... They obviously do not care about their customers and I will never buy online from this store again. read more

I grew up in the Miami Vice inspired 1980s Miami, Florida. Those houses you saw it filmed it? They were mine and my friends, and a good friend's father built a whole bunch of them. So, needless to say, the stark, contemporary style is definitely my "thing." And Design Warehouse is the place for me! They've got knicknacks, kitchen decor cleverly disguised as useful tools and utensils, chairs that are more art than chair, more statement that seating arrangement. There's art and furniture, games and toys, tzotschkes and more. It's a welcome oasis of Mod in the middle of Santa Fe Chic. You've gotta love it. read more

These guys are on the right track!! Lots of fun, modern pieces to look at... They have great books, Furniture, shower curtains, Pantone tins and mugs, wonderful lighting, textiles, rugs, tables, eames storage units... the list goes on... They get docked one star because I'm looking for a couch, and for a knoll style, modern furniture store 1/2 of their couches were very dull and boring... like puffy, rolled arm, beige, tapered leg, slipcover, love seats... a little surprising for such a cool store... The other 1/2 of the sofas were cool, but not my style... But Definitely worth the trip!! Fun times!! read more

This store has to be one of the best west (and maybe east) of the Mississippi. Wonderful selection of high-quality, modern furniture and goods. You can find just about everything you need to furnish a house, condo or apartment - with just the right amount of design and style at reasonable prices. Also, a great place to pick up a gift for any occasion. The service at the store is fantastic...just the right amount of attention and guidance. Really cool place by the plaza. Tons of interior design ideas, beautiful furniture, and a huge collection of alessi accessories. Last time I was in santa fe they also had a bunch of bento boxes... Very modern and cool. The people working there are warm and welcoming, which you don't always see in this kind of shop. It's a welcome change. read more

Warning - no returns despite late delivery. Ordered a gift which arrived too late. Attempting to return it, I called several times and was repeatedly put-off, told I would receive a return call shortly. After over a week, I finally got abruptly informed that all sales are final - something not made clear at all in my opinion at the time of purchase. All this in spite of the fact that the item was not opened and could be immediately restocked and sold as new. Terrible policy and customer service. read more

There's no other store like this within, I don't know, 800 miles? While every other store in Santa Fe is filled with Southwest stuff, from the authentic and beautiful to the tacky, Design Warehouse has high modern, fun, high-style stuff, from classic Eames chairs to too-cute Japanese toys and office gear, kitchenware and really, a whole lot more. I particularly like the themed shower curtains, especially the Psycho one with the slasher...Okay, my humor may be a bit warped, but trust me, there's something for everyone here -- if you can break out of the adobe-turquoise-silver triangle for a few minutes! Clean, modern architectural design oriented shop that stands in welcome contrast to all of the rustic offerings that line Marcy St. Lots of Fred Flare, Alessi and Pre de Provence. Mix of items that range from high-end, custom $3,000 chaise lounges to $3 "After Therapy" breath mints. A must stop in SF. read more

The store ordered the sofa we wanted and it took forever to arrive. When it finally did many of the bolts and holes didn't line up. They did a lousy job at the factory. They actually had to saw a leg or two shorter, re-drill holes. I had to lend them tools. It was rather alarming. We told the owner about it because we thought he should know about the kind of work the factory was doing. It doesn't inspire confidence and we wouldn't buy any furniture from them again. The owner's response on the phone? He could care less. read more

This place is refreshing because it has fun designer stuff that is NOT "Santa Fe Style" and I love that... I like to look mostly (as they have some pretty pricey stuff there) and on occasion I buy their fun little cheap gewgaws. read more
