LISTEN UP - Dr. Victoria Wells at Pike Road Dental is/has without a doubt the gentlest, most considerate, most expeditious, softest hands, and best trained dental support staff in the South. (This statement is no hyperbole; it is simply a fact which you can believe or not.) My 11 years of personal experience with Dr. Wells includes her performing simple and complex dental operations: simple fillings, crowns, and repairing/replacing defective fillings and crowns (from other less competent dentists). I realize others are going to rely on what I say here, so I am going to tell the G-d's honest truth. In all the past procedures Dr. Wells has performed on me, I have never even once felt the numbing syringe - a softer touch does not exist! Also, I am a small person with a small mouth, and since Dr. Wells is a small person, her hands can work inside a mouth with no discomfort to her patient. The one recurring motif for all the time I spent in her chair is her concern for the patients' well being at all times throughout the procedure. She constantly tells you what she is doing, what to expect, and checks with her patient to ensure everything is proceeding apace and that the client is in no discomfort at all. Take it from somebody who knows, if you go to Dr. Wells you will never go to another dentist again.

In midyear 2023 they no longer accepted my insurance provider Cigna Dental. The only change for me was that MGM Dentistry moved from an in network provider to an Out of Network provider. Out of Network providers with Cigna Dental are still paid and I have a ZERO DEDUCTIBLE for two annual routine dental visits. After several requests to this group to file my claim correctly they have done nothing and continue to invoice me $250 plus for a cleaning that clearly is a ZERO deductible to me. To further complicate and inconvenience me is that MD is in the middle of replacing a warranted crown that I paid in full. The crown procedure cracked my tooth root and two months later I am paying an Oral Surgeon to extract the tooth and prepare my jaw for an implant. However I remain in limbo since MD can't get my coverage straight. I never asked for this situation and I feel MD has dropped the ball and is unwilling to take the task to manage a transition in insurance coverage created by their action.

They weren't going to be open so I said," I have an appointment Monday (8/12) and I'll have her check. Verbal communication that I was coming in. Apparently that verbal communication was not good enough. Here was a chance to have Dr. Nevins to check my bridge and maybe replace it. My wife had bad experiences with a dentist as a child, but she doesn't mind going to Dr. Nevins at all. We are so comfortable with her that we recently took our 3-yr old to her for her first cleaning, rather than go to a pediatric dentist. We took pictures with her and she gave everyone a hug. If you can't imagine a dentist who gives hugs, maybe you should check out Dr. Nevins.
