So yesterday was 2nda appt and I could not recommend this group enough! I am having to have a crown replaced and the first thing Dr. Holley said after he introduced himself was "If at any point we need to stop or you need a break, you just let me know". I had called last week 8/7/25 to check to see if they were open that Friday for Dr. Nevins to check my bridge. They weren't going to be open so I said," I have an appointment Monday (8/12) and I'll have her check. Verbal communication that I was coming in. Apparently that verbal communication was not good enough. Here was a chance to have Dr. Nevins to check my bridge and maybe replace it. I requested a phone call from Dr. Nevins by leaving a message with front office to have her call. No call. I'm still waiting. I'll edit this post if the dentist calls.

My wife had bad experiences with a dentist as a child, but she doesn't mind going to Dr. Nevins at all. We are so comfortable with her that we recently took our 3-yr old to her for her first cleaning, rather than go to a pediatric dentist. We took pictures with her and she gave everyone a hug. If you can't imagine a dentist who gives hugs, maybe you should check out Dr. Nevins.

I was given a price and my extraction itself would be at the low end of the range she gave me (she told me 3-5 hundred for the range...it's 280) but what she negated to tell me is that I would be charged for an X-ray (could have made effort to request these from my referring dentist) and a 'consultation' (spent 5 minutes telling me what my other dentist is doing wrong essentially and what other repairs I need soon). Which nearly doubled my cost. I'm out 280 and have had nothing done other that the x ray and said consultation. When I called back, 'candace' told me that 'ginger' could have waived part of today's fees 'at her discretion' but because I was upset (I believe understandably upset) she opted not to waive any of them. I don't believe anyone should have this kind of 'discretion' where they can hurt you financially just because they don't like you.

My husband had his wisdom teeth removed by Dr. Kean. The procedure was done briskly and my husband…read morehad a quick recovery. Dr. Kean was very professional and had good bedside manner. Although, I wish the procedure would've been explained a bit more to calm our nerves, especially after watching the consent video, which made us even more nervous than we felt about the surgery initially. I would also like to note that my husband ended up getting an infection in one of the extraction sites, which is not entirely the fault of the clinic; however, there was no indication regarding the length of time that the syringe should be used for on the discharge paperwork. When we went back to the clinic, my husband had to get pus and food suctioned out because we assumed that we didn't need to use the syringe anymore after finishing the medication. In addition, I wish they could have used some kind of numbing agent so he wouldn't have to experience so much discomfort during the suctioning. During the suctioning visit, it was clarified that my husband should be using the syringe for 2-3 months after the surgery, as it takes months for the extraction sites to fully heal.

Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery Associates - Montgomery, AL My…read morewife recently had her wisdom teeth removed at Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery Associates (7200 Halcyon Summit Dr., Montgomery, AL 36117), and it was a horrifying experience. Her absolute worst nightmare came true: she woke up in the middle of the surgery. Because she was wearing protective glasses, she realized the staff wouldn't see her crying, so she began making noises with her mouth to get their attention. She heard the dentist instruct the nurse to administer "20 more ccs" of medication, but despite that, she could feel the dentist cutting and actively pulling on her teeth. After the procedure, the dentist came into the waiting room and told me she did well, giving me standard post-operative instructions. At no point did he mention that she had regained consciousness during the surgery. He instructed me to drive around to the pickup bay to get her. When I met her and the nurse at the exit door, the nurse simply said, "She did well, bless her." However, my wife was crying, silent, and visibly distraught. As I helped her into the vehicle and asked what was wrong, she broke down and told me she had woken up during the operation. I deeply wish someone on staff had been honest and informed me of what happened before we left the facility. While I am unsure if any formal remedy can fix this, I am sharing our experience to ensure others are aware.
