Initially the staff seemed very nice and the office was clean . The issue began when going over a treatment plan. I initially went for my annual oral exam and a regular cleaning.Both fully covered by my insurance. After the oral exam the office recommended a different cleaning. I explained I rather get my regular cleaning and consider the other later. This office said they won't give me a regular cleaning because they are recommending another. When I challenged it their exact response was " the patient doesn't get to decide what cleaning they get". When speaking to what appears to be the head dentist or the person running the office , he consistently kept talking over me and try to prevent me from getting a word in. Pretty much left me and my wife with an ultimatum. "Do what we recommended or you can go somewhere else". On top of that they want to charge thousands of dollars just to fill some cavities. That's with insurance (MetLife). Can't say I will ever return to this office. read more

My daughter was going to this dentist office for several years for regular cleanings. On her last visit they told me I have to pay $35 for an application of "MI paste". I said I decline that treatment, which they responded that it is mandatory, and that they would not be able to do her cleaning unless I accepted that charge. I agreed to pay it because I did not want to go through the hassle of taking my daughter out of school again and me missing work again. As I was in the waiting room, several other patients arrived, all being told they have to pay the $35 charge for the MI paste. This is clearly just a greedy and blatant attempt to squeeze extra money out of every patient that walks through the door. Especially since a whole tube of MI paste only costs $20-30 and they only apply a pea size amount on each patient. No other dentists I have gone to, or my family has gone to require this paste. Other dentists I spoke to have said MI paste has really no benefit as part of a one time cleaning. It is intended more for a long term maintenance routine. So I will never go to this dentist again. For their greed, they lost hundreds of dollars in future cleanings for the sake of making an extra $35. Also, I will never do business with any health care provider that does not allow their patients to decline clearly optional treatments. Patients/Customers, in any business should have a choice in their service. Clearly this dentist office does not believe in that, and are only interested in taking advantage of their patients by their greed. read more

A delightful collaborative team! The staff is immediately welcoming and knowledgeable. They gave a great tour to make you feel comfortable at their facility too. After my first consultation they explained my plan for the future dental appointments, the price breakdown, and the necessity of each procedure. Vivian, Luisa, Nicole, Miriam, and Dr. Rodriguez are all amazing ladies! I've been able to go back multiple times to get the procedures done and they have been great. They recommended inappropriate expensive procedures for a 93 year old woman (implants) They repaired a dental bridge, which had to be paid by credit card, up front ,before they would do the work. The bridge repair lasted less than 2 hours. They insisted on a deep dental cleaning before doing the repair - also charged it in full up front, although the senior patient could not tolerate more than half the procedure. They showed me around from the beginning to the end and also from the front to the back and introduced me to everyone in the building. NEVER had that done before and it was a welcomed change. Had my mouth x-rayed with a new high end machine that worked like an MRI. Very nice and high tech. Once done, my hygienist Soraya Nunez, gave me a fresh cleaning and fluoride to my gums. She did an excellent job with my cleaning, made me feel relaxed, cracked jokes and simply had a very pleasant time. I highly recommend Designing Beautiful Smiles, as they are a step above. My third visit, I had two crowns put in and I was simply scared, as the dentist is my least favorite place. I scheduled an appointment for a regular cleaning which is covered 100% under my insurance well after x-rays and a sit down with their estimator they (including Dr. Rodriguez) told me I need a deep cleaning which would cost me hundreds of dollars. I said "well let me think about it and I'll schedule another appointment but today I only want my regular cleaning". Here's the kicker Dr. Rodriguez refused to provide me with a regular cleaning and would only do the deep cleaning. This is an old aggressive sales tactic and I will not stand for it. Horrible customer service. The man at the front has a huge attitude towards his patients and treats them like children. I had called to make an appointment with my insurance which they said they took. When I get there I am informed I have to switch my dentists over (which they should have advised upon checking insurance) which took almost an hour . It took the office 10 minutes to initially greet me because they were in a morning meeting. Who does a morning meeting when you're supposed to be open for clients and no less - they tell you to come early for paperwork? Very unorganized office, rude staff and clearly a desperate office. I had Dr. KANG To get an extraction yesterday And let me tell u he was a SMART ASS he didn't make me feel safe at all. While he was making the extraction he was overly reacting to my mouth situation saying "oh dear god!" A bunch of times While he had tools in my mouth through the blood I stoped and finally said "your scaring me" his response was shocking to me he said "you're supposed to be scared, I'm supposed to scare u" and he kept applying pressure in my mouth, I have never felt so horrified in my life. I didn't know if he knew what he was doing so many questions were going through my head. But my advice to u would be to not get your wisdom teeth pull by Dr. KANG. Also I have extremely bad allergies every morning so I have to take a Benadryl before I start my day and he kept insinuating that I was on drugs and he embarrassed me in front of my mom referring to me saying " I don't know what she took last night but be careful with the medication I'm about to prescribe to you" as if I was on drugs or something. This place it's a scam. For $89 they do exam, photos and a cleaning. But the cleaning never came. They create the need to a deep clean in order to charge more so they can make their money. Made an appointment for my son for what I thought was going to be x-rays and cleaning. We arrived 10 minutes early to fill out paper work. It was the first time we had been to this office and they insisted that he had to go alone because he was 18. Mind you, we have never been here before. I wanted to make sure they did a good job and that would determine whether we would go back. Long story short, after an hour and 40 minutes of being there, he only got X-rays and the dentist gave him an exam. They were so slow and the wait time was awful. "some guy", had me sit in another room with an itemized bill of all kind of BS recommendations that I opted to pass on. After doing so, they refused to give me another appt for his cleaning. My son went here. They did work that was not needed and overcharged by $2000.00. The insurance company sent me a letter stating all of this. They are investigating the dentist to see if they have done this to other people. I am now in the process of filing a complaint with the American Dental Association. The dentist was given the chance to reimburse him, but they will not. Have them submit everything to your dental insurance BEFORE they do any work. Do not pay more than what the insurance company says is your responsibility. Don't let them use scare tactics to make you think everything needs to be done ASAP. Call your insurance company and make sure you understand what portion they will pay and what amount you should pay. Do that before they touch you and don't sign anything until you are clear on everything that you will be in charge of paying. read more

My daughter has been going here for a few visits for cleanings. Her bite was never mentioned as a problem. After going to get info to get her crown replaced suddenly her bite and smile were horrible. In my opinion I feel they played on a 19 year old girls insecurities and talked her into $6000 dollars for Invisalign. Her teeth are near perfect. She has had braces and corrective treatments already that were highly successful and diligent in wearing retainers. The rendering of the proposed treatment results were near non existent. She Didn't have any issues in her bite but they made her feel like her smile was ugly. Again, In my opinion I feel they took advantage of her age and lack of experience. Yes she is of age but they should have consulted us, her parents before having her sign for seemingly unneeded procedures that she definitely could not afford.
