I would have rated DXHC 10 stars if that option were given. Excellent product, excellent service, excellent stylists, excellent price (especially when compared to a more well-known competitor). Relaxing and laid-back atmosphere, and very personable, yet with a professional business environment and acumen. They bend over backwards to accomodate clients' needs and preferences... and don't require a contract. I discovered them 5 years ago after going somewhere else for twice that long. One of my reservations was that, since it's a single-location business, I might not be able to get the services I need if I were travelling. However, that is not the case, as Ark seems to have the ability to find and arrange for similar services wherever it is that one might be traveling to (within reason, of course). I started with DesignX Hair Creations, I believe it's been 3 plus years now. I started noticing my hair receding in 2006. I tried the laser treatments, I tried a place in Brentwood that applied some sort of secret potions. Nothing was working. I tried wearing wigs. By now I've become a recluse not wanted to go out. After trying another hair place (the one with all the commercials) for about a year with disasters results I found DesignX. When I talked to Ark and then found out that Ruth, who remembered me from that other place was DesignX, I immediately made an appointment to check them out. These are the kindest, most professional people I have ever met. They gave me back my self-confidence. No one knows that I am wearing a system, it is so natural looking. I recommend them to everyone. Having being a wearer of hair systems for quite some time, I've learned to see the various differences in products that are offered out there. Have to admit that I'm really not fond of "having" to wear one, but since I do, I need to make sure I am using, what I feel, looks best and natural on my scalp. Was not really looking for a new place to go to as I was extremely satisfied with the place, my operator and service I had been receiving at my prior location for many years. But, often, while driving on Olive Ave in Burbank, I would always notice the DesignX studio, but never stopped. One day I had an urgent need for service and needed someone immediately, so I looked them up in computer and found that it is a place that did offer what I needed. Curiosity got the best of me so yeah, I made the call, and since they were so close to me and could accommodate an instant appointment I thought, sure, just this once. I was impressed. As much as I hated leaving my friends at my former salon, I did, especially so since this location was very close driving distance to my home, so convenient. Long story short, I am a new and happy customer at DesignX and have recommeneded them already. One last thing, The "Skins" product they do offer here, is amazing and I feel as close to mother nature as you can get and Design X is the only one (that I know of) that offers it.
