I got burned with my wedding photographer (so many many years ago, but I was so unhappy with finished product that I feel like it was yesterday), so I did not want the same to happen again with another of life's important milestones. But it was so unnecessary - April is so patient, so professional, and so kind! She bonded with my newborn immediately and took her time to get the best shots. I mean she REALLY took her time. You can tell she understands and realizes that every shot is a reflection of her work and the pride in her work, and she takes no shortcuts. Her studio is ?in flux - she is supposedly trying to find a new studio, but in all honesty, her current one seemed fine to me (ignorance is bliss?). Her prices (session+photos) are not cheap, however they are indeed reasonable given her level of expertise. Remember you get what you pay for, and what you pay for is an experienced professional and excellent photography. I am in the process of ordering announcements and print photos from her now (so difficult as so many of the proofs are simply gorgeous), and I am sure I will not be disappointed. I will update my review when they are delivered. I highly recommend April (she is also seemingly the "newborn whisperer" in my opinion, LOL...I wanted to take her home with me for those 3am crying spells!) UPDATE: Got my announcements and photos! You should be aware that the owner (Mary) is not the photographer. She has no knowledge of, or…read morecontrol over, the photographer's work. I cannot recommend this photographer. I paid $450 for professional photography for my daughter's first birthday, a once-in-a-lifetime celebration that cost over $7,000. I trusted this photographer to capture such a special occasion, but the final gallery was extremely disappointing. Many of the photos were taken from low, unflattering angles, had poor composition, or were unnecessarily repetitive. Several important moments were either missed or not captured well. What was even more disappointing was the response afterward. When I raised my concerns, the photographer claimed that the angles had been "edited to eye level." That explanation made little sense. While editing can adjust exposure, color, and cropping, it generally cannot change the original camera angle or perspective. A photo taken from a low angle cannot realistically be transformed into an eye-level shot through editing alone. The photographer also failed to avoid obvious reflections in people's eyeglasses. Can you imagine paying $450 for professional photos, only to receive images in which bright white glare obscures people's eyes and faces? Instead of acknowledging the problems or offering a reasonable solution, Mary, the owner, refused to take responsibility or provide a refund. This was my daughter's once-in-a-lifetime first birthday, and after spending over $7,000 on the celebration, I expected professional-quality photographs that would preserve those memories. Unfortunately, both the quality of the photographs and the customer service fell far below my expectations.
