I spent…read moresome time trying out different salons since moving to the UK and am pleased as punch to have found Sixth Sense. Every person on staff is so friendly and welcoming. They really live up to their company values of making each customer feel special. I see stylist, Kimmy. She is fabulous. I can take in pictures and swatches of colors and she creates my vision. There is a reason the Sixth Sense stylists keep bringing home national hair awards. Every time I leave Sixth Sense, I feel like a million bucks without having to shell out a ton of money. Sixth Sense offers student discounts and have a loyalty card offering free products after just a few visits. Check their Facebook page for last minute booking discounts as well. The salon space is small but very well laid out. The staff always greet you promptly when entering and offer you a beverage of choice straight away. They make a great latte to boot. The styling chairs are comfortable as are the hair washing stations. While you don't get a massage at the washing station, you do always get a nice scalp massage and a perfectly coiffed 'do. If you're near the Sutton Coldfield area and looking for a salon, I cannot recommend Sixth Sense enough.

It was a little confusing to find as the salon is inside another salon which has no reference to beauty by yasmin on the outside My therapist was a girl called Becky, and she really made me feel comfortable and relaxed. She really spent a decent amount of time on each area, and used just the right amount of force. The full body massage really was 'full body' which included feet and neck, as some places don't. She uses base oils rather than almond oils, in case people have nut allergies. Also I was offered a hot drink or glass of water at the end. A fabulous oldie worldie hotel and spa situated in lovely grounds. It's part of the Best Western…read morechain so I didn't have high hopes, but I was pleasantly surprised (yes I'm a snob!) The long driveway is impressive and passes right by some of the golf course holes so you can cruise on by and watch. The hotel is vast with plenty of function rooms, a bar, and cosy little rooms that are off the main corridors. This hotel was once a private house complete with servants, and you can picture some of the rooms being living areas etc. The grounds are beautiful and there are plenty of photo opportunities if you happen to have your wedding here. I came here to celebrate a wedding anniversary, and we had a private function room booked for about 30 of us. We pre ordered out food and a three course meal with wine on the table was only £20 - awesome! The food was ok - duck terrine to start, roast lamb with Yorkshire pudding and white chocolate and raspberry cheesecake. For some reason the cheesecake wasn't doing it for me, so I asked for the cheeseboard instead - a good move which went down well with a glass of red. The staff really looked after us, making sure we had everything we needed. Would I return again - yes I would!

I am sad to say that today was the last time we will be going to Moore hall. I have food allergies, not choices but real medical allergies. My first afternoon tea was handed to me ( I booked about 5 weeks in advance and stated my allergies clearly) it wasn't gluten free. I asked was she sure and she went back to check and apologised for giving me the wrong one. If I had eaten any of it I would have ended up in hospital. One of the sandwiches looked like it had pickle, I asked what was in it, the sandwich was taken away and brought back and told it was fig. I asked for a list of ingredients, the woman told me that I could eat it but I was too nervous to eat something without knowing exactly what was in it. She just wouldn't give me a list of ingredients. In the end the sandwich was just taken off me with nothing to replace it. Not a great start. About an hour in I asked could we have our prosecco....we also waited some time for milk and had to ask for it also. We had no apology for any of this at all. The woman serving us was frosty if I'm honest. I did explain to her that it wasn't just that I didn't like these food items that I had a genuine allergy. We moved into a side room in the bar area and had a bottle of prosecco (£36) we were settled in girls day having a lovely catch up. Barman comes in and says "I'm not going to throw you out, but I need a room for 15 people." It's a public space. We spent a lot of money £120 approx for afternoon tea, evening meal £80 and drinks £100. We will be looking for a new venue for our next get together that will look after us better. Such a shame we've always enjoyed ourselves on previous visits.

As a gal who attempts to rock a fringe it is crucial to have a go to place to get it trimmed when…read morenecessary. My hair grows so fast that one day my fringe is the perfect length and the next it is out of control. My usual hairdresser is expensive and requires booking quite far in advance. So in a quest to find a cheap, walk in place for a fringe trim I tried this place. It is on my drive to work and I pass it twice a week. I have had my fringe trimmed there many times over the last year and I am very happy with the service and price. I never have to book they just slot me in and it takes less that 10 minutes. They definitely know what they are doing and straighten the little bit of hair that needs cutting first. They don't let me go until I am 100% happy with the cut. Just £3 and I'm on my way, perfect fringedom re-established.

I've been visiting this nail salon on and off for the past 5 years. I usually have bouts of going…read moreoff my acrylics or one of the techs will do something that irritates me and then I will go elsewhere usually returning as they are the closest and quickest nail bar. On one of my last visits I always seem to get the same tech that no one wants, she proceeded to do me a French pedi and just before sending me to go and dry I took a look to which I told her I wasn't satisfied for her to tell me I had had my acrylic overlays on too long and that was the reason they looked discoloured. I responded to this with why did you not tell me this before staring my treatment and having the option to get a new set for slightly more money. After becoming slightly miffed she agreed to paint over the top so the discolouration would be less obvious. I went on my way fairly happy. I returned four weeks later and had a new set of acrylic on fingers and toes done which was relatively stress free. However on my last and final ever visit to the salon I asked if they could remove the acrylic as u wanted to take a break alongside the fact that I've began studying and I'm not allowed any nail adornments on my course for placement. I was greeted by the same rude employee questioning why am I taking them off and why don't I just infill them simply because she didn't want to spend the time doing this somewhat monotonous job. After she began taking the acrylic off my toes I immediately noticed something wrong with the nails, they had become blackened at the root and the texture somewhat grainy when I asked the tech she told me that this was due to me banging my toe. I went on my way and have since released that I have infant contracted a nail infection. Personally I will never return to this salon the owner is lovely but the some of the employers and this one in particular are down right rude and lazy; three weeks later I still have some of the acrylic I paid £30 or more to remove remaining on my toe nails. It feels every time you say something to this employee she has a response she couldn't be bothered soaking the acrylic off my toe nails so insisted cutting them down so low and filing the surface when I asked her why she said it was so my nails wouldn't break!
