Outstanding service and work. I used DeSola 25 years ago in our home in Cypress, and when it was time to redo mirrors in our home in Montgomery, I called DeSola without a second thought. I wish our builder had used them for our build, but we used a local company that did not do such a good job, and we had to replace the mirrors. These were not easy mirrors to fit, and Anthony spent a lot of time making sure they were perfect. They worked with my schedule and exceeded my expectations once again. We had just moved to Texas and I was in need of my art pieces installed. I called around to a few places, but the guy that answered the phone was so nice that I decided to book with them. My interior designer had marked the walls at the exact spot that each piece was supposed to be hung at. Combine a single-pane window in the front of your house with an over-zealous dog that has an aversion for anything that sounds like the UPS truck and disaster is predicted -- eventually. The stars, planets and paws aligned on a recent evening when our resident 65-pound brute decided that the "man in brown" was infringing on his territory. Door bell rings, dog runs, smash, crack! Our dining room window is shattered; befuddled dog now stands in the wings as we look at large shards of glass and he looks back at us with the "duh, huh?" look on his face. Luckily he was not hurt. At dinner hour, we realize there is no glass repair facility open. As hubby cleans up the broken glass and attempts to cover the newly open ventilation system, the search begins for repair options. I called two local glass repair/replacement businesses and left messages since it was after hours. DeSola was actually my second call; they called us back shortly after business hours resumed the following morning. The first location I called never returned my phone call even after a repeat call (with another message) the following morning during business hours. Mike came out to assess the damage the next day. My daughter was here to assist and said he was very nice, as he salvaged a piece from the broken part of the window to save us some money. That afternoon I received an estimate from Dayle; I authorized the repairs to proceed -- which he told me could be done on the following day. Dayle was very pleasant, helpful and extremely honest about our options (I asked him about ways to prevent breakage in the future). Mike returned to do the repair on schedule; he was in and out in a flash and our window looks as good as new. Everything was done neatly and cleanly and in order when I got home from work that afternoon. Price was reasonable and obviously service was very quick! Had a great experience with Desola Glass. Had a bath tub converted to a walk in shower, contractor only did build out and left all the glass to us. I called desola and they were so helpful in advising me of the types of glass and strenghts to make it sturdy and durable, all while creating the the look I was looking for. DeSola fabricated our frameless glass shower door several years ago, but we've never been happy with the work. The door hinge screws were too short, so the door hinges kept pulling out of the wall. DeSola said they didn't have any longer screws, so we had to buy our own stainless deck screws from a home store. DeSola added clear silicone strips to all sides of the glass door, which made it difficult to open/close, and the strips kept coming off (held on with double-stick tape). Perhaps the silicone strips wouldn't have been necessary if the glass had been cut a little larger instead of leaving gaps around the door. Eventually we gave up on the strips (they got water spots and mold as well) and now the water sprays out around the gaps when we take a shower. DeSola also sold us a glass treatment that was supposed to prevent water spots, but as far as we can tell the coating did nothing (still has plenty of hard-water spots even though we squeegee after every shower). The installation guys were very nice, though. read more
