It was an amazing experience! Let's get the review on! First of all, it is easy to get to. It's right off I-30 and close to the Channel 11 station. There's a parking team member ready to direct you to your parking spot, an enthusiastic greeter at the door and when you walk it, it takes you breath away. It' so large in size! Everyone is super nice there. Several people came up to me and shook my hand. They have a Male and Female Worship leaders. The female worship pastor was really crying out to the Lord. The Male Worship leader paused his song to tell us something that was on his heart. He told us how he was compelled to help someone along the side of the road. He encouraged us to do the same, in any way we can. Later, I saw him praying over the seats. So glad to see the Male Worship Leader filled w the Holy Spirit. Pastor Winfield was on point. He spoke about the Call to maturity referencing Joshua 1:1-9. He emphasized how God would be with us step by step. Let me tell you, it was nothing like the New Kids on the Block song, Step by Step. Lol. It was more like God gives us all promises. We have to turn our burdens into blessings. God gives us a purpose. He will direct our steps and his gives us provision. All is welcome in the Potter's House. There's a Janet Jackson look alike, a Macy Gray look alike and a Uncle Phil look alike. Lol. Well, enough said. I think Bishop T.D Jake's would be happy with the Potter's House Fort Worth for reasons mentioned above.

Pastor Craig will be preaching about a different movie each week for the month of July .Popcorn will be available. Craig turns the church into a movie set to try to get people to come to church. During summer time attendance is low and people are on vacation so, they tend to skip church. He knows that people love movies so, he thought this was a great way to bring people to church. The church is the body of Christ, not a building. But if I'm reviewing the building, this is a…read morevery nice place to worship. The music is contemporary, but not too loud. The congregation is a very nice mix of nations and generations. The childcare is great. The special needs program is great....But... what really makes this a grat church is the fact that it's goal is to do what Christ commanded. This church tries to be the hands and feet of Jesus. There are elders in the church which is awesome. There is accountability in the church which is awesome. They also have Celebrate Recovery on Monday nights which also...is awesome! There are many ways to serve and many groups to be part of. Ive been a part of many different classes and courses through the church and haven't had to pay for anything but the materials (at cost), and even that would have been free if I couldn't have afforded it. Is there a perfect church? Absolutely not. But there are churches whose goal is to lead people to Christ and to disciple them, and this church is one of them. The gospel is preached here. It's not always a sermon to make you feel good, it's a sermon taught with God's word at the foundation.

What a breath of fresh air. The last Catholic church I went to is a very large church in Keller. While that church is large and beautiful, it lacks warmth. My favorite part of a Catholic mass is the "peace be with you" part. You can really get a feel for a church's soul at this time. There was true warmth from the other parishioners that shared this moment with me. After the Mass, as we gathered up our things (it was a cold night in FW), Father Jaison came by and spoke with. This furthered my appreciation of the smaller church. It's a warmth not experienced in larger churches. My only regret is that we do not live close enough to attend Mass here more often, but we most certainly try to visit again. Oh, a little about the church. It's very old. From the website: "The first Mass at St. Mary's was celebrated on May 4, 1909, in the small wooden building that constituted the first Church. After a fire destroyed that building in 1922, the present Church was constructed and the first Mass was celebrated on July 20, 1924. A jewel of Romanesque architecture, the new St. Mary's instantly became a prominent landmark on Magnolia Avenue and a center of worship, education and social activity for the near south side of Fort Worth. Initially, St. Mary's was under the care of priests of the Congregation of the Mission (Vincentians). In 1928, the Order of St. Benedict (Benedictines) began a ministry that was to last for half a century. Their tenure saw the development of Laneri High School (now Cassata Learning Center) and St. Mary's School, both staffed by Benedictines. The current rectory was constructed during that time. Priests of the Society of the Divine Savior (Salvatorians) staffed the parish from 1978 until 1982. That year the Society of Mary (Marianists) assumed pastoral care of the parish." Bottom line: While the Fort Worth Cathedral (St. Patrick) is a short distance away, given the choice, I would much rather celebrate mass here at St. Mary's.

I enjoyed attending this Church for so many reasons. Let me tell you about it. It's a very welcoming Church from the outside to the inside. Let me explain, The landscaping is inviting and when you walk into the chapel the people are very friendly. The worship pastor had a great voice. He performed about three or four worship songs. I was only familiar with the first song. The pastor was out so, his son took his place. He did a phenomenal job explaining the text verse by verse. I learned some things that I did not know before. It was enlightening. The pastor also had a great sense of humor. He was also respectful of our time and his sermon was about 45 minutes. In conclusion, if you're looking for a Church in Haltom City. I would definitely recommend this Church! The Church is inviting, the Worship Pastor sings good, the Pastor's son preaches confidently verse by verse. For the reasons, I listed, I believe this would be a good fit for you. I will be attending next Sunday! See you there.

I came many times and was never able to find a true connection here...couldn't taste God's goodness or hunger from the people here at all. And the motto from 1 Corinthians 13 ("Love never fails.") does not seem to match this church either. I'm looking more for Acts 2:42-27. A place with deep authentic relationships, a fiery hot hunger and pursuit of God (not to be confused with emotionalism and charismatic hype), intentional discipleship, and effective outreach. I'm looking for a church that doesn't just go through the motions, have polished worship sets, and entertaining announcements...unfortunately this is what I felt after 3 months of attending...
