I had…read moreExtreme Car Care Center paint the trunk area of my 1967 Plymouth Barracuda to match the rest of the vehicle back in early 2024. This job turned out just fine. I was then talked into by the mechanic to have my car tuned for $1,000 and the torque converter in the transmission upgraded which I agreed to. The mechanic, his name was Shay, was not able to tune my vehicle and damaged the roller lifters in the process of tuning. Shay also lost one of the roller rockers while putting in the new set of roller lifters. I had to buy a new set of roller lifters as mine were "no longer on the market and available to match up." That was over $450 out of my pocket and not my fault. I also had to buy a new set of roller rockers for about $400 because the mechanic Shay lost one of the rocker arms and they could not buy another identical one. Months and months go by with no car being finished. A new mechanic Jesus says well those roller lifters are not the right ones and we fired the old mechanic. So they had to order a matching roller lifter and use the roller rockers I bought them to put in. With lots of phone calls and text messages over months and months of headaches there was little progress. I would communicate back and forth with the owner AJ and the Mechanic Shay and eventually Jesus with the usual "it will be done soon." I had to call dozens and dozens of times to get my car back in working order as the mechanic was not able to get the car running again the way I had it when it came in. Finally, I had a tow truck come to pick up the car as they said the linkage for the transmission and throttle wouldn't be able to connect again for some reason. They did get the car running but not driving as it was driving great when I brought it in. I have the tow truck there to pick up the vehicle back in October of 2024 and the car is leaking transmission fluid all over, in the amount of quarts and quarts of it. My heart sank at seeing this issue that was never an issue before. The transmission ran like a champ and had no issues before bringing it into Extreme Car Care Center as I had a shift kit installed in it by Payless Transmission down the street. The mechanic at Extreme Car Car Center was going to put in a better stall converter to help with the tune and he messed up on the reinstall of the transmission and damaged my transmission. I brought my car to Madera Transmission and it was over $2400 to repair the damages to my transmission that had been caused by Extreme Care Care Center. Not once has Extreme Car Care Center offered to pay me for the damages to the transmission or the parts I bought which they also damaged. So I am at a loss due to negligence of Extreme Car Care Center. I would not recommend this place as they are dishonest and do not back up their word. I was raised on living by a handshake and good faith word of mouth that, "Yes I will do something and do it right." Extreme Car Care Center seems to have lost touch with customer care and service.

Lots of dirt, too. I had noticed that the liner of the back space was pretty grimy and wondered if Red Carpet had a way to clean it so I asked the young man, Bobby, who was signing me in for service. He asked a few questions about what I meant so I got out and showed him the liner. He gave me two choices--they could wipe it down for no cost, or for $2.50 it could be pressure washed. I asked him about how much time it would take and he assured me that it's quick, and that there was only about a 20 minute wait at that time due to no line. He was very conscientious about my time. I chose the pressure wash. It turned out very well and I was on my way very quickly. Good service. Quick work. Paying attention to customer concerns. This is the old Red Carpet. When I took possession of the my car, the young man doing the detailing was very polite and pointed out that I could return with the receipt card and get a $1 off the next service. "Oh, yes, I know, I've been doing this for about 50 years." He laughed, "Oh you're part of the OG." Yes, yes I am.

When I went inside to check in, the employee at the register didn't acknowledge me because she was handing out paychecks to coworkers. I stepped aside and waited, then approached again. When she finally helped me, she simply told me to get in the regular line. After waiting in that line for about 30 minutes, the attendant finally got to my car around 8:45. I explained that I had an 8:30 appointment, and he then told me I was actually supposed to be in a different area. By the time I drove over there, it was completely full. Another employee informed me I was about fourth in line and that it would be another hour to an hour and a half before they could even begin my appointment. I had already driven an hour to arrive on time. Since the Gold Package itself takes 4-5 hours, I simply couldn't justify waiting another hour and a half before they even started. I ended up leaving and going to the Shaw location instead. My biggest disappointment wasn't the wait itself--it was that no one seemed to know the check-in process for scheduled appointments, and there was no effort to direct me correctly from the beginning. Having an appointment didn't seem to mean anything. I sincerely hope I won't be charged the $20 no-show fee since I was there on time and left only after being told it would be another 60-90 minutes before my vehicle could even be checked in. I do want to end on a positive note. I've always had excellent experiences at the Shaw location. The staff there have consistently been friendly, organized, and kind, which is why I continue to support Red Carpet Car Wash. I dropped my car off and Ubered home, and they called me about an hour and a half later letting me know it would be ready right around the two-hour mark. Overall, they did a really strong job. I'd rate the result about an 8-9 out of 10. The car came back very clean, honestly somewhere between a standard wash and a light detail. They applied protectant where it mattered, and the overall presentation was noticeably better than your average drive-through or quick hand wash. That said, there are a couple areas where they fell just short of being excellent. On closer inspection, some of the smaller details were missed. For example, you can clearly see where surfaces were wiped down, but they didn't always get into tighter spots like the door handle wells. It's not a major issue, but it's the kind of thing that would only take a few extra seconds and would elevate the result from "really good" to "top-tier." The bigger issue for me was at pickup. When I walked up and said I was there for my Tesla, I was handed a set of keys without any verification, no confirmation of make/model, no receipt check. It turned out to be the wrong keys. That's a pretty clear security oversight, and it's something they need to tighten up immediately. Pricing-wise, it's not cheap, but you are getting a higher level of service than a standard wash. Bottom line: this place isn't perfect, but it's definitely better than average and one of the stronger options I've found locally. If they tighten up the small details and fix the key handoff process, this could easily be a top-tier spot. I'd come back.

Most hand car wash places in Fresno are extremely busy, so when I pulled in and saw a few cars ahead of me, I actually took that as a good sign. The entrance is off McKinley near First, and you'll see signs directing you back toward the alley where the car wash entrance is. The process is simple. You pull up, an employee comes over, and they ask if you want inside and outside done. They write a number on a yellow piece of paper and hand it to you, and you leave your keys with them. They vacuum the car first, then move it to one of the wash bays. After that, it gets pulled to the front where they dry it, clean the windows, wipe down the interior, and go over everything in detail. Start to finish, it took about 45 minutes, which is exactly what I would expect for a somewhat busy hand wash place that is doing both the interior and exterior. There are several restaurants within a short walking distance, so I walked over and grabbed some pho while they worked on the car and came back when they were almost done. What I really liked was how professional they were and how hard everyone was working. They were constantly cleaning, then rechecking their work to make sure they didn't miss anything. If they saw something they didn't like, they went back and fixed it. You can tell they take pride in their work. You pay at the end by giving them the yellow paper with your number on it, and the price lines up with the menu pricing for the type of vehicle and wash you selected. My car looked great when they were done, and I would definitely come back. I would say this place is as good as, if not better than, most of the other hand car wash places in Fresno. If you're looking for a good hand wash in Fresno and want your car taken care of properly, I would definitely recommend this place.

They've got an indoor waiting area with seating for about 7 people or so and a few more chairs outside. I only had to wait a little bit longer for my car one time, a day after there was some rain in Fresno. I definitely recommend this spot for your car-cleaning needs!
