While I was at work the technician convinced my Mother that a 24 dollar part replacement would cost 450$ and on top of that charged a diagnostic fee and service call fee. I called for explanation and to complain. I was told they pretty much just talk whoever it is they are taking advantage of into this outrageous price. Though my mom thought he quoted her 40 something dollars for the part. On top of that it took him 1hour and 20 mins or so to replace the part with a generic ignitor which required 2 little screws and 2 wire nuts to replace. The owner pretends to be caring but they only care about their bottom line. Don't use this company unless you like getting ripped off. He tried to justify it by saying since his techs carry the part on hand even though it's a 15 dollar knock off that doesn't even bolt down correctly. Funny thing, customer service and Gm refused to settle for a 200 dollar refund and so I asked for them to come and remove the part and refund my money to which the Gm said that's gonna cost them more money to do that! Are you kidding??? And then has The owner of this God Forsaken business to call me to tell me that he would have just refunded me all the money and I keep the repair.. lol but instead pretended that I shouldn't have been upset in the first place so therefore he wasn't gonna do the right thing. Recently our furnace blower quit working, so I did some research and came across Dave's Services as…read morebeing a great company on-line. As with any service company, you take a risk in doing business with the, but research is important. When I called, I spoke with Shawn in the office who professionally scheduled a service call at a time that was convenient for me. Zach came out and was able to diagnose that the blower motor was bad and would need to be replaced. The next day I spoke with Dave to find out they had a lead time of around 14 weeks for that motor. Dave could have just stopped with that news, but instead he offered to send Zach back out to pull the blower motor, so he could attempt to repair it to get us going before the cold came. Long story short Dave was able to make a repair to our ECM motor, so Zach returned and got our heat working. A great deal could have gone better with this situation, but not much of that was in the control of Dave' Services. They offered a professional service and went above and beyond to help take care of a "new" customer. You see I have never used an HVAC company, as traditionally I would perform most work like this myself. I have been in the service industry for more than 30 years and have most of the skillsets needed to make repairs, but in this situation, I did not have the time nor the specific industry knowledge. I sincerely appreciate the extra effort it took to get heat for my family this winter season, and you can be certain when I do replace the unit it will be done by Dave's Services. Jim did a phenomenal job in explaining what my options are to replace my system, including fixing some of the concerns we have with poor airflow throughout our home. My advice for anyone researching and reading business reviews, take time to read between the lines, the truth is always somewhere in the middle. The lead technician spoke with my neighbor an another job and said they would not be back because they knew the air conditioner was installed improperly. They, now, want to charge an additional $2800 for redoing ductwork. The 2 technicians were fired immediately after installing our air conditioner. We are in the process of filing a law suit against them.
