I attended Detox Oasis for 1 week, and it was the best, darn health investment I ever purchased. Not only did I lose weight, but I returned home with a new sense of eating healthy and living healthy.
Working nights in a busy ER in New Jersey took a toll on me. I was disgusted with how I looked in the mirror. I did my research for 2 weeks and looked at different types of fitness retreats all over the country. Many were so expensive! These retreats boasted commercials, elaborate websites, celebrity appearances...etc. I wanted to lose weight without having to rob a bank to pay for my retreat. Then I found Detox Oasis in Indiana, family owned by a husband and wife, Wendy & Dave. I read their website thoroughly and scanned their photos. After 1 week of contemplating, I called Wendy. She was very acomodating. She answered all my questions thoroughly, and booked me a spot for a fraction of the price from all the other fancy retreats.
Took a flight to Indianapolis International Airport and took the Bloomington Shuttle Service, which dropped me off at Holiday Inn Express on Kinser Pike in Bloomington, Indiana. Johnathan, our instructor then picked me up to take me to the retreat site.
When I arrived at Detox Oasis, I was in awe with the surroundings, the manicured lawns, the fresh air, and the wildlife around the property. This was far from the bumper to bumper traffic, smog, stressful environment and crowded buildings of the tri-state area. The buildings were rustic, cabin style, and best of all there were only 7 of us, fat campers! It was an intimate setting with Wendy as our host and Johnathan as our instructor.
I had opt to do juicing throughout the entire retreat. Every morning, I woke up at 7am; showered, got dressed, then...
Took my morning wheat grass before 9am
Walked (or many times I ran) for an hour with my fellow fat campers & Johnathan
Took our probiotics at 10am
Fitness training with Johnathan for 1hr (He works out diff parts of the body)
Juicing for lunch
Break for 2 hrs (I usually went for a walk or did Dave's P90x videos)
Yoga at 3pm for 1 hour
Freetime after yoga (I usually went for another walk or tried the videos again)
Dinner with a broth
Then free time after dinner. I usually did the colonics (enemas) at nights. You can also go into the sauna, do laundry, read a book, or watch a movie.
Then repeat the entire schedule again the next day.
There was no coffee allowed but there was unlimited green tea and cucumber water.
Johnathan was an awesome instructor. He was not pushy. He acknowleged your weaknesses and your limits. He was there every morning to train and motivate you to lose weight.
Wendy was a great host. She was hands on, present everyday to tend to whatever questions, concerns, or inconveniences any fat camper had. She managed the program really well.
I found new friends at the retreat. My fellow fat campers, or should I say, fellow fitness campers were so nice and so friendly. Many of them were repeat customers. I was easily at eased upon arrival. They also made my stay a very memorable one.
Day by day, I found myself relaxed, less tense and wow, my face was as smooth as a baby's butt! I couldn't believe how young my skin felt after all the excercises and juicing. No amount of anti wrinkle or smoothing cream could've matched how my face felt during my stay. The weight also easily came off. I had lost 12 pounds in 1 week. I was so ecstatic!
On the last day of my retreat, I wanted to stay another week. I reluctantly made my way back to the airport, vowing the next time I return, I will stay for 2 weeks! read more
