Teeth are weird. I'm one of those people who didn't have their wisdom teeth removed as a teenager…read more My dentist was concerned that one of my wisdom teeth was tilted too close to a molar and sent a referral to Crescent Oral Surgery. After calling their office a few times and receiving follow-up calls, I didn't have a good impression of their office organization. My dentist sent xrays and photos to their office, but everyone I talked to at Crescent Oral Surgery couldn't access the email. I had to explicitly tell them that I was copied on the email and can send it to them. Their staff sent an email to me that I used to respond back with the xrays and photos. I filled out their online patient form and later that day received a phone call from their office telling me that my dentist sent a referral and asked if I wanted to book an appointment, which was odd because I already booked an appointment. Crescent Oral Surgery is located on the second floor of Hillcrest Mall, so it was easy to find parking. I arrived early as they had asked, and waited about 10-15 minutes before being taken into the procedure room. One of their medical staff confirmed why I was there and measured my blood pressure and heart rate. I was seen by Dr. Mousavifar who was pleasant and had great bedside manner. I opted for local anesthesia and didn't feel a thing. The medical staff also explained what to do/not to do post-surgery and provided a printout. After the procedure, the office staff submitted a claim to my insurance on my behalf so that a portion of the cost would be reimbursed. Overall I thought it was a good experience, but you definitely have to drive the conversation when booking the appointment.

I nearly lost consciousness from pain. Also he broke the other tooth (wasn't part of the procedure) while he was removing crown and now my family doctor said I have to put implant in there so this visit will cost me more money. I'll avoid coming there ever again.

If you have severe dental anxiety or just are plain scared of the dentist, please read this review!…read more Ever since I can remember, I've had dental anxiety. When I sit in that chair, my heart races and my eyes start to tear. I take really good care brushing my teeth, but I am cavity prone and I don't floss nearly enough as I've learned. After over 3 years of avoiding the dentist, I finally began to feel some discomfort and figured it's time to put on my big girl pants and make an appointment. I did so much research to find the right dental office, knowing that I will be anxious and looking for the emergency escape. Hummingbird dental was recommended as an amazing office that not only understood patients with dental anxiety, but could offer a higher level of care to ensure they felt comfortable. The staff here were so wonderful. Irina the hygienist was so reassuring while doing all the teeth cleaning and x-rays. Poloma is the dental assistant to Dr. Behrooz and I can't thank her enough for taking the time to chat with me when she saw just how nervous I was. I was physically shaking and she literally had to hold me hand. But she was so kind and I mean the type of kindness that really comes from the heart. Every single staff saw me cry that day because my anxiety was building up so fast, but they remained really patient and explained every single step before they proceeded. Poloma and Dr. Behrooz set reasonable expectations on what discomforts may come with my procedure (turns out I had really bad cavity). I actually had to get a side frozen with needles but Dr. Behrooz took the time to use a numbing gel first to ensure a painless experience. They chatted with me the whole time, told me when to close my eyes, and I never felt the needle pain. They would chat and banter in a silly way to keep my mind off the procedure. Every once in a while, they'd take the time to pause and ask if I was still doing good. If I was uncomfortable in any way, they'd offer to take a break. Their priority was to take care of my teeth efficiently but with as much care and kindness as possible. I wish I grew up with Dr. Behrooz as my dentist. I booked a follow up to fill the rest of my cavities and I plan to visit them regularly for dental cleanings. Whether you're a child or adult, Hummingbird Dental is going to take amazing care of you. They really go above and beyond to give you the best oral care and experience.

As a customer of Hummingbird Dental, I must say that I am extremely disappointed with there…read moreservices. The primary reason for my disappointment is there pricing strategy, which I believe is nothing short of price gouging. I had to get a few dental procedures done at Hummingbird Dental, and I was shocked when I received my bill. The charges were much higher than what I expect, even after factoring in the complexity of the procedures. When I inquired about the pricing, I was met with vague answers that did not justify the inflated rates. Furthermore, when I tried to discuss the pricing with the staff, they were dismissive and uninteresting in helping me understand the charges. It was clear that they were only interested in charging as much as possible, with little regard for customer satisfaction or fairness. Overall, I found Hummingbird Dental's pricing practices too be unprofessional. I would not recommend this dental clinic to anyone looking for affordable dental services. There are much better dental clinics in the Markham, Richmond Hill or Vaughan area that provide better service at reasonable price. Other than that, the location is good, right around the Yonge intersection and there's a lot parking outside the buildings.

The office is busy on the weekends, but the staff is friendly and very organized. Consultations don't feel rushed, the surgeon makes sure you are very well informed of your assessment and lets you know exactly what to expect, so you can make well-informed decisions. Wisdom tooth removal appointment only took a few mins. I was in and out in 15 minutes! That includes signing the consent form, payment, setting up a follow-up appointment, and the whole wisdom tooth extraction procedure. Bottomline: a very smooth-sailing and fast and easy procedure. Because the surgeon is good and very knowledgeable, there were no complications in the procedure. I recommend Dr. Benjamin Li to anyone looking for a good oral surgeon. Oh, and they also call you a couple days later to check how you are doing, and to let you know you can always call if you have any questions or concerns. Review 86 of 100
