Lots of polarization, lots of flagged reviews, it's the wild-wild west out there. I main reasons I decided to check out midtown: - Close to my job (can walk from work) - Accepted by my insurance Another, dumb, reason: it's a pretty cool, modern-looking building. I came here after I experienced hard-selling and fear-mongering tactics at another Dentist. I wanted to get a second opinion. Boy, am I glad I did. Staff here are friendly and professional. Appointments are timely. The lobby is beautiful. You can choose your own music or watch Netflix while you get drilled/scrapped/polished. I had Dr. Adam Jensen for my dentist, he was great. He had a data-driven yet practical approach. I wish I knew he was a peak bagger (just found it out by creeping the website), we'll have so much more to talk about next time!

I've now been here for two cleanings and have been attended to by the same hygienist, who is very thorough. You know you got a good cleaning when you leave with some pain (good pain)! Except on my last visit, she nearly chipped my tooth by pulling out the reflection mirror too quickly (bad pain). I'll be back, mainly because I don't feel like searching for yet another new dentist and also because I do feel like they are honest. That was super odd especially for a first time patient. I have pretty good teeth and not many concerns but he spent the least amount of time with me. The hygienist Holly is kinda young and quite the chatterbox. I'm not sure she took many breaths. I've never had anyone take 1 full hour to clean my teeth. As you can see I have pretty good teeth. I think if she didn't talk as much it would've been faster. This was a full 2 hour appointment. Even getting a root canal I've never been at a dentist for 2 hours. They "offer" fancy stuff like paraffin Wax, hot wraps, movie glasses. But I say offer lightly. I was offered the hot wrap but nothing else. The massage chair is just an uncomfortable vibration. No thanks. All that has to be paid for somehow. Their prices make getting necessary work done impossible from a cost perspective even with insurance. They're super out of the way too. I guess because he thought the numbing gel was suppose to numb things he could stick the needle in and move it in any direction he wanted to. When doing a cleaning his tool caught my lip and was pinching it against my tooth i tried to move my lip and he got angry. When he pulled my tooth he was yanking and hit my front tooth. That front tooth cost me a lot of money. Its a cap and it hurt so i touched it to make sure it was ok and the doctor got very curt telling me to put my hands down and do not raise them again. I was thinking," your right I raise them again I'm going to jail. You think you can talk to me like that and treat me this way?" The next tooth he pulled he didnt try to yank he added slow pressure like they are taught to do. Too bad he did not remember with the first one. Its wierd how hard they were to pull when he said they were severely infected and unsavable. My body seemed to disagree. Its ok i wanted one of them pulled anyway but lying is a huge peeve of mine. I dont understand why he would do it and why he thought I would not know. Was it because we were in mountain view? His staff looked freaked out a little when I told them I am a vetran and i would be running any prescriptions by the VA pharmacy. Turns out the VA will not fill it since dentist are not covered by the VA community care but still I am letting the VA know. That was just wierd. She actually has a support system you do not mess with. I guess if you treated everyone the same your staff would not freeze and get bug eyed when they find out I'm educated and not on welfare. Them doing everything in one visit and the staff is why it gets 4 stars. The assistant running the vac I think was in training too. Everything seemed an oh yah moment for her but thats ok. I dont mind training with me. Not having to make a different visit for everything is what would make me recommend it. Plus i am told other people were making visits in Wasilla because none were available in town and BTY was willing to get me in the very same day. Sometimes you sacrifice bedside manner to get what you want when you need it.

She was taken from the lobby and then waited by herself in a room for 45 minutes before being seen by anyone. The extra procedure they did on her was $1,000 extra and they had no problem billing that amount. The extra procedure took 3 days to recover from and I would not have said yes to it. I called several times to speak with a manager and despite leaving messages with people and on voicemail, the manager never responded. I just got calls from the front desk asking to be paid. When I told them that I was changing dentists and wanted to leave with no bills they said I was squared up -owed nothing. Months later they called me about a payment that they found I owed. I could go on and on, but not worth any more of my time. This place is overpriced and unprofessional.

They had the receptionist coming to me at the end trying to secure more dental work for the future and to pay ahead of time. If you have fear of dental work, this is not the place for you because I learned the hard way. They will quote high, try to charge ahead of time and continue calling until you are firm on the answer NO.

He was informative, insightful, perceptive and educated me and walked me through each step and his dental assistant or dental tech. Gina was phenomenal as her appropriate sense of humor was much needed and sometimes what can be a stressful moment when you're getting a drill on your tooth. Eloquently facilitated by the very own Dr. Lopez. But his precision and his attentiveness was pretty impeccable and impressive. And I've had dentists in the past who have fallen short because they've triggered a pain point, but with Dr. Lopez I was in good hands because it was a pain-free experience and while the drill was loud, which at every dental office drills loud. But I was really focused on relaxing. And thank you so much for Dr. Lopez for allowing that. And I was very grateful for that experience. But I was also very happy that his dental assistant Gina was able to also make me feel IDs and comfortable. And thanks for the laughs Gina ;) And thanks to Evelyn, the office manager who really underscored the positive and uplifting and professional environment that I would expect from any Top-Tier dentist. :)
