Again, best decision! Sarah and her office staff have been so kind, efficient, and very knowledgeable. From the first meeting where I was obviously emotional to the final court hearing, Sarah has handled everything, communicated along the way, and been just generally fantastic. I walked into McAlister, McAlister & Nicklas about two weeks ago and cannot stop thinking about the…read moreexperience. I had just lost my mother and needed a five minute timeframe to ask one question regarding the need for probate help. I was referred from the downstairs bank to this law office to ask this question. The bank told me the law firm upstairs, which is McAlister, McAlister and Nicklas would be able to answer my question because the bank could not answer it. I advised the receptionist of this law office upfront that I had just one question and shared with her the question after she asked me what it was. She was not compassionate about the loss of my mother at all and told me it would cost $350 to ask the question and that no one was there for me to ask. I told her someone could call me but she again, reminded me it would $350 as well as a retainer fee. I understood needing to charge, what I don't understand is the reply she gave to me after I shared my question with her and my reply to her asking for $350 up front. Her reply was this: "a doctor would not see you for free so why would you expect a lawyer to see you for free". I left there and cried. I just needed to ask a question and probably would have retained their services. Needless to say, I retained another lawyer's service who gave me the time to ask the question. That lawyer is now doing a lot of work for me. McAlister, McAlister and Nicklas' receptionist reflects the entire business practice because they are the ones who trained her to talk to me the way she did with zero compassion. I would never and I would think no one would want to work with uncompassionate people like what I experienced here. Truly, it's hard to give even one star.
